  I am runing Windows 7 Professional, but use Microsoft Office 2003.   I continue to receive updates for Microsoft Office components, but they will not install.  Specific are "update security for Microsoft Office Excel 2003 (KB978474), filter junk mail Outlook (KB979771) and implementation of security update for Powerpoint 2003 (KB976881).   The error message is CODE 646 "unknown error."   Someone knows how to solve?

  Download and install the Office updates manually - it's the current solution to this error with Office updates.

• Suite Microsoft Office 2001 will not open when it is installed on the new computer - Data Execution Prevention.

  I have a new computer and installed the Microsoft Office 2001 Suite of disks provided with my old.  It seemed to install correctly but does not open.  Message says Microsoft Office Suite has stopped working - Data Execution Prevention - and when I change the DEP settings it still does not.  Why, and what I can do to fix the problem?

• Downloaded Windows 7 Pro trial version (previously using XP pro); currently a student of Microsoft Office 2003 version not in "all programs"; directly from the place of the app to get "operating system is not currently configured to run this application"

  Trial download using Windows 7 Professional (previously had XP pro)
  Student Microsoft Office 2003 version is no longer in "All programs" on the start menu
  Running EXCEL, WORD etc application of the subdirectory of the program file generates "operating system is not currently configured to run this application"
  Still have diskettes for installation for Office 2003, but the box with the product key is lost, this effect cannot be re - install.
  Microsoft Office does not appear in Control Panel programs in Windows 7
  How can I get Microsoft to work again without reinstalling Microsoft Office?
  If I have to re - install, how I get lost product key for Microsoft Office?
  I tried using Compatibility Wizard without result.

• Microsoft Outlook 2007 does not open.

  I know this is a long message, however, I want to help based on what I have or have not is. We use Windows XP, Office 2007 student and teacher edition, Outlook 2007.  Norton is our protection.  SuddenLink is our internet.
  This was the week that won't stop.  Friday February 4 our computer has a virus called Axel.dav.  It destroyed the program file after file.  We ended up calling Norton.  We paid 99.00 for them remotely access our computer in order to remove this virus.  Problem solved.  However, the programs were still gone.

  We have recharged our Microsoft Office 2007 home and student version.  I know that there is no Outlook, but I didn't, so we relocated our copy of Outlook.   Although we have installed Outlook, my mail was rather to Outlook Express. With this problem in front of me, I called Suddenlink who helped with the right setting that outlook has started to work. It worked fine for a few days. Then, I was looking for an email I need and who had been backed up on an external drive.

  When I clicked on the email address (ended up being not not the one I need), it opened with Outlook Express.  It's an email that my husband had saved at work (where they use Outlook Express). A message came saying: do you want to be your default e-mail, Outlook Express and I said no once we clicked on this email then Outlook Express took over and now Office Outlook will not open.  We tried everything from the system restore to reset navigation panel, to fix Outlook and Office CDs and their reloading.

  I'm lost.  I've never asked a question before so I really hope that you have all the information to help.

• Microsoft Office 365 does not work after update of El Capitan 10.11.4 March 27

  I've upgraded to El Capitan 10.11.4 March 27 and my Microsoft Office 365, specifically the word & excel stopped working properly. Files can be opened, but when you save the new content, and then close the document, it does not record properly (and no backup or temporary file cannot be found). Once opened again, they eventually return to the saved before the update version. Thus losing the latest added to the document after the update.

  If anyone has experienced this or can help, I'd appreciate it. This is my first mac and I thought it would be much easier to use than a PC, but I'm not sure I can take this abuse much more time

Note that Office 365 indicates only that you purchased Office in the subscription, but it does not indicate what version of Office you are using.   I upgraded to 10.11.5, restarted, and now none of the applications in Microsoft Office.  Here is the error that you start Word.  Can anyone help please?  No one knows what is the cause?

  A little older version of MSOffice 2011 auto-updater does not work on newer Mac OS, and so you need to download the cumulative updaters required for using the built-in automatic update feature in the future.

• Office 2007 does not open after the Vista update

  I've been using a trial version of Office 2007 Standard supplied with my notebook for almost two months without any problem. Yesterday I updated to Vista x 64 and now I get a "the application failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect." pop up when I try to open any office program.

  I uninstalled and downloaded another version to test, but when I try to open Word or any other part of the office, I get the same error.

  Out of all the "" regular updates, it's the only one that is a new: Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 and the .NET Framework 3.5 Family Update (KB951847) x 64 I guess this is the prob.

  I tried to uninstall Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5, but the uninstall program always, said: "Setup.exe has stopped working".

  Someone has any idea how to solve this problem?

  Here's an update. The two programs of Nikon not open as well. I don't know what other progs have been affected.

  First confirm that there is a file c:\Users\Hyperelmo\Appdata\Local\Temp.  If it is, change the value for the variable TEMP of %USERPROFILE%\Appdata\Local\Temp to c:\Users\Hyperelmo\Appdata\Local\Temp.

  If it does not, the best I can recommend is a clean install to get MMC works again.

• Microsoft Office Outlook will not open

  Error message reads as follows:

  Cannot start Microsoft Outlook.

  Cannot open the Outlook window.

  He has a big red cross.

  However, Outlook opens briefly before this message shows, then it disappears.

  What did I do wrong! So I need Offcie Outlook. My business depends on it.

  I did a restore on arrival the latest MS updates, no effect.

  Restarted the computer, no effect.

  currently underway to do a computer search to find errors.

• Office 2003 does not work on Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - Bit

  I have two new computers that came pre-installed with W7HP 64 bit and both are pre-installed with the product obviously not commercial office 2007 which we do not want to use.  I own copies of Office 2003 and use these products on new computers.  I tried loading Office 2003 on a PC and had a lot of errors especially trying to run Outlook 2003.  I am now using Thunderbird as it works and really miss Word/Excel 2003 - (Office 2007 ribbons wah! what were you guys thinking!)

  I have also 16 bit score test programs written and compiled years using Quickbasic 4.5 specific use in my practice.  Any ideas on how I can get those pennies W7?

  I understand that there is a professional version of Windows 7 that integrates WOW64.  This will allow me to run Office 2003 (Outlook esp) without errors?

  Can I run programs QB4.5 with W7Pro?

  If Yes, please indicate how should I proceed?

• I download a pdf file of my e-mail and it goes to microsoft works. but does not open the files

  I had some pdf files sent me don't download it except in microsoft works. but then the files will be open not because they say it not supported. These are important files, I need it now

  Work will not read a PDF file, you need a PDF reader.
