Microsoft update also think that my PC is a MAC

I am running XP Pro SP3 (32 bit) and IE 6 SP3.  I get updates through automatic updates who prepares to download but allow me to manually apply updates.  If I try to check the updates via the website link on the automatic updates applet screen, then I get this message:

"I thank you for your interest to get updates of our site.  This site is designed to work with Microsoft operating systems only.  To search for updates of Microsoft products are designed for Macintosh operating systems, please visit http://www.microsoft.com/mac/. »
Microsoft Windows Update button {padding: 1px 0px 14px 14px; width: 80px; height: 21px; overflow: visible; line-height: 15px; cursor: default ;} table {table-layout: fixed ;}}}
Obviously my User Agent is messed up.  This behavior started after I cleaned my system using the downloaded on microsoft.com in response to infection by the virus of MS malicious software removal tool.  As far as I can say my system is virus-free since to clean, but the user agent is of course what most States update the site wants to see.

Http://www.enhanceie.com/ua.aspx of yeilds IE 6 running:

Your User-Agent string

Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 999.1; Unknown)

I have run Symantec Endpoint Protection Version 11.0.2020.56 which I update regularly and automatically using Live Update.

I do not use any third-party firewall, anti-virus, anti-spyware, or another anti-malware s/w.  I do not agree with MSN.

I hesitated to update IE 7 because I suspect that install on a facility where the registry of the user agent or other parameters are already bad would not necessarily be the wiser course.

Can you help me?

    I just bought a Satellite Pro A200.
When I upgraded to the latest critical updates from Microsoft Update, I found that I could ping is no longer my local IP address. This has happened to the card NETWORK LAN RJ45 and the wireless network card.
I reinstalled the operating system using the recovery CD, and I could ping to the IP address of the local interfaces.
But when I again once downloaded and installed the latest critical updates from Microsoft, I can't ping the local IP address.
    Anyone has any idea why?
    Thank you

    Hey Buddy,

WHERE´s the problem? I know that the updates are the system destroy it when they are buggy, but that's normal with microsoft. I have almost the same problems also! Thhoughts WGAnotify.exe, I was a software pirate and restricted my access to 'zero' access.
"Yes, Sir, I bought a windows and it s stolen... well... OK... :(."
Yes, noone except microsoft (who would be the point where I could say "you are in the wrong forum" ;)) knows why it s happening.)
These days, you should do the following: find update is the cause of this error. You can do this by going in "Add / Remove Programs" in your "Control Panel" and click on the top of the window the button "see the updates.
Then begin to uninstall the last installed update and check if your ping works. Otherwise, proceed to the next update and uninstall it and so on...
I know it's a long and boring process, but since there is NO problem of toshiba, you must accept it and try my method to remove the update that is causing your error.

    Welcome them

Not just?  You have just completed your 'cure' - it is not a matter of fairness.  You are doing something that is not - there is no conspiracy - only a lack of knowledge on your part that I hope that we are about to solve...

Here's what you need to do this, you can reuse your Windows updates.

FIRST: Uninstall Internet Explorer 7 or Internet Explorer 8 installed. Back to all the way back to Internet Explorer 6. You want other patches before you get those. Reboot after doing this.

Get SP2 (manually) and save it to your desktop. (There's a link here.) [You are a COMPUTER professional for now.]

    Install it.

Then restart at least a couple of times for a few minutes between each restart.

    Install it.

Download at least Internet Explorer 7 (if it is not Internet Explorer 8).

    Install it.

    Reset.

Now, try to get the updates through the normal web page (http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/) and see how much more you can get (100 +) and keep checking until you no longer have.

  • Microsoft Wireless 6000 v3.0 only keyboard bought but software think that I also have a wireless mouse

I bought a Microsoft Wireless Keyboard 6000 v3.0 only (no mouse) of Office Depot.  After installing it and the software, my mouse started acting (intermittent, little strange things that you say that something is wrong).   Because of my work (graphic design and writing), I use a mouse great Kensington trackball - The Expert K64325 (wired) mouse.   So, I checked the mouse settings in the control panel and found the Microsoft Mouse and keyboard Center who seemed to think I was using a Microsoft wireless mouse with my wireless keyboard.  I've looked everywhere to find a software for just the keyboard, but it seems to be still associated with the wireless mouse.  I had this problem once before and somehow update Microsoft has found a way to install only on the keyboard of the Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center part.  Then when I got the new wireless keyboard, the Center has been installed and I could not get it back just the keyboard even once.  I know that the keyboard and mouse are often sold together in one package, but it's a lot of detail with just the keyboard (all I needed).  I tried to get Microsoft Update in order to install just the keyboard section of the control center, but it did not work.  I don't know how to put up-to-date known to install only on the keyboard part of the Center with my old keyboard or how to tell him to do.  I think something has changed with the new keyboard which does not allow the update to see that I'm just using the keyboard and not the mouse wireless.  Any suggestion would be appreciated.  Thank you.

  • NET Framework Update KB2804577 watch in my list of programs, but also continuous appears in Microsoft Update as downloaded and waiting to be installed.

The update a few months ago... Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 SP2 (KB2804577), continues to appear in my list of installed updates. But according to updates from Microsoft, it is downloaded and ready to be installed. He also appeared in my sandbox with automatic updates as ready to be installed. He also continues to appear when I shut down my computer. Any number of times when I tried to leave my computer to install this update when I close down, by means of Microsoft Updates and automatic update. It will simply not go away! Since it puts in my list of programs updated, is it updated? If so, why he continues to show needing to be installed? I run Windows XP. IE8.

Sorry, it took so long to answer. To answer your questions, no he didn't is not updated and that's why he continues to show. This is a common problem with updates of the .NET Framework.

    Follow these steps:

Download it manually here. Click on download and choose NDP20SP2-KB2804577 - x 86 .exe. Install it and then visit Windows Update and check if it shows as a high priority. If it isn't there, you should no longer be disturbed by it.

If it's still there, follow these steps:

Uninstall .NET Framework 2.0 from Add / Remove programs.
Then download the .NET Framework cleanup tool , unzip it, run it, and in the drop-down list box, select 2.0 and clean.
    Reinstall .NET Framework 2.0
Visit Windows Update or Microsoft Update and let it install the rest of the 2.0 updates, including KB2804577.

Check if they install and report.

  • "[Error number: 0 x 80244019] ' when you try to update; also repeated (wrong) message indicating that the modules are disabled.

Ive just made on my computer disaster recovery and have experienced significant problems when you try to download updates from windows, a message indicating: "the website has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are trying to view," appeared on several occasions accompanied by "[error number: 0 x 80244019].  I tried the antivirus program malware removal tool and ensured that my computer has been configured for the installation of updates, according to the instructions on the microsoft Web site, but nothing works, I have also ensured that the features activex in my internet security settings are enabled.  There is another extremely irritating aspect to this problem: I am repeatedly received a message that my "Add-ons" are 'disabled,' when in fact I have ensured that they have all been activated.

    Hello

I found the specific problem last night on another forum thread.  In fact, my computer is an older edition that had Service pack 2 installed.  As this service pack is no longer accepted by the Microsoft windows updates, updates of the said installation has failed, causing "error 0 x code 80244019."  After the upgrade to service pack 3, I found that the problem be resolved itself.

  • I think that my computer crashed. Microsoft word is gone and I can not activate my virus protection!

I don't understand. I've been typing in microsoft word, and he just disappeared! I'm going to restore and quoted in the area as being deleted, so I go back to August 1 and restore and then it turns back on and try to put microsoft word and it says it can't because it can't find the file. Then I go in the microsoft security essentials antivirus I have and it won't come on either, says it does not. I have an icon on my desktop for google chrome and I click it and it says the same thing. Fortunately, I keep an additional internet browser so I could go to the line. I uninstall microsoft word completely because that annoying box keeps popping up on. So I try to uninstall security essentials and it says that it cannot do so, to install it again but when I try to do what it says I have to get rid of the old security essentials. In the middle of this chrome turns, but I don't know if the icon on my desktop will work or not and I don't know if I'm safe right now. That's happened? I tried everything to find microsoft word and he's not here.

I have a windows XP and the computer is only two years old. This morning before all this happened, I uninstalled security essentials and put on a new one just if I have the updated version and it worked fine, and then all this happens. I will say also that for a while now my computer wanted to update microsoft Word 2003 but can never do. Does anyone know what I'm supposed to do now?

I tried to install the update of the files KB2518864, KB2572073, KB2633880 four times after whenever I would say it was well built. When I went to search for files to delete files before you try to download the files again and reinstall it using the Add/Remove on my Windows XP SP3, I was unable to locate the files. The only way I found to fix this was to remove the registry entries manually using regedit and use the file search feature and delete the files I found manually so. Then I had to update windows to inform instead of automatic download. I tried the Fix Center file also although did not. I can't locate these files to download on either windows update page.  If these files exist and need to be installed then I expect that Microsoft's COMPUTING service get this fixed a problem. My computer is a home based upon a business Edition step.
