  • You will need to uninstall Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable package to install the earlier version to Fix - It Professional 12.

Original title: problems with Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable (x 86)

I try to install the Fix - It Professional 12 by Avanquest on my Windows XP machine.

When installing, I get a message that says Microsoft C++ Visial Resditributable package (x 86) must be installed.

When I click to try installing the Avanquest Software, it fails.

If I go on the Microsoft Web site to try to downlad there from there, he fails again and I like that it's because I already have a newer version on my machine.

Technical support Avanquest says that their software requires the old version.

Is there a risk involved with uninstall what is on my machine and allowing the Avanquest software to install the version needed?

If this is not the case, how does it do this so the rest of the installation of the software can continue?

You can uninstall the version of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable in the computer and install the older version required by Avanquest software.

  • Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Packages do not install correctly.

I recently built a low buget of range, PC game for my sister, so she can play games like the Sims 4.

After you install a copy of Windows and the drivers, I have installed some games and programs she wanted.

Most of the program works correctly, but the Sims 4 does not work. It gives the error of "msvcr100.dll is not found, re-installing the application may fix this problem". I think that means that Visual C++ Redistributable is not installed, but all the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable packages 2005-2015 (32 and 64 bit) are installed.

I tried to reinstall the packages, they did successfully,

I tried to reinstall the game,

I tried to run the packages again, and they said they were already installed on the system,

I tried to use Windows update,

  • Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable

I already have 3 versions of Microsoft visual C++ installed in my computer. Recently, when I installed a program, a new version of Microsoft visual C++ installed. Now I need is no longer this program so I uninstalled. But this new version of Microsoft visual C++ is still present. Should I uninstall or keep? What happens if I uninstall as I have already 3 versions to install other programs.

Let them all. I have 20 versions of C++, and while I don't know what software uses a

particular version (can I even uninstalled the appropriate software), it does not matter as long as

Versions of C++ do not conflict (it is not an executable, only a runtime library), and they take

very little space on the disk (less than 100 MB).

Uninstall a version of C++ and cross your fingers at some point, you get an error message

that does specify a C++.  Avoid situations and leave all versions of C++.

Most common programs are written in a program called C and C++, which is widely used by developers and they are a source of standard libraries what software use to support and to perform their designated functions.

When software is installed in the computer, he needs help / support of software of Visual C++, in order to avoid a software to download the copy of its source or support a coding Windows has integrated the software and download and storage space a s it updated to make it available to the software and to avoid unnecessary.
It is strongly recommended that you keep your C++ updating so that no Microsoft software or third party to download an individual component each time.

  • stop the automatic installation of Microsoft Visual C++ redistributable.

I recently started using a new pc in the office.

and installed MS visual C++ 2008 express on the PC.

but when I try to compile a program, I found a problem.

I checked the "programs and features" in the control panel

There are many redistributable packages VC ++ in the system, IE. VC ++ 2005, 2008, 2010 redistributable...

I try to uninstall all the redistributable packages, just keep the VC ++ 2008 Express and its components.

but when I turned on pc a few days later. all versions of redistributalbes are installed back again. It's really annoying.

is this a way to prevent this auto/silent install these redistributable packages VC ++? because it messes up my programming environment.

    Thank you.

Others are installed only if an installed application needs them.  Every application needs a specific version.

You aren't the only one with multiple versions (see figure).  I do not know Cmake, but is there a way to 'say' it which one to use?

  • Windows SDK 7.1 not installs on Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 10.0.40219

I try to install the 64-bit from the Windows SDK 7.1 compiler.  But the installation fails with an error (empty) useless.  I tried various fixes suggested in various forums online, but my research suggests that the problem is likely to be the C++ Redistributable package has already installed more recent than the version in the SDK, and he therefore moved not on them.  Unfortunately, I can't seem to uninstall the redistributable files: there no option to uninstall them in programs and features, probably because they were put there as part of the installation of another program.  But I don't know which and have not been able to understand.  I can't just go remove programs at random, so I don't think that kidnapping will work for me.

Is it possible to get the compiler installed without removing the redistributable files? Microsoft plans to release an updated SDK to update anytime soon?
    For what it's worth, I'm on Windows 7 Enterprise SP1, 64-bit.

  • Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x 86) and other versions hold 4 GB of space

Running Windows 7 Home edition (Spanish version)

While trying to find space on my portable hard drive, I noticed that there are 8 versions of Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x 86) on my machine. That's a total of more than 4 gigabytes of space. Is there a version that will cover all these? or can I just delete some of them?

Original title: Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x 86)

I think you read the amount of space used for the wrong purposes.

    I have 19 installs C++ ("2005 - 08-10 & 12") that accumulate to about 86MB total (64 bit Win7).

Adults are between 11-15 MB each.

I have not been informed to the contrary and assume that newer versions of C++ are not cumulative.

You will notice that everyone installs it different is a different version, and I expect the software

who installed will seek this particular version.

While I would probably uninstall all additional versions if I had the confirmation that the two

    versions 2012 (x 86 & x 64) have been combined, they don't take up much room, so I can't be bothered

experimentation to uninstall and reinstall again if a software that I do not often do not load.

in particular, because he cannot throw an error that specifies c++, this could lead to much .

BTW - just to get the right terminology. Software is uninstalled. Files are deleted.

While the software can be removed, doing so can cause problems both with to remove the title of

Programs and features, leaving the back files (which can happen when you uninstall anyway),

    and leaving the registry entries.

-If your laptop HDD/SSD is short on space, you will very likely move the files to an external HARD drive, or get a bigger HDD.

Music, video are joint space pigs, followed by photos. Most of the software don't take up much space,

but uninstall the "bloatware" that comes with many laptops may help some.

If you have any games, they can use a lot of space.

Note also that an SSD will last longer if you leave 25% of free space. HARD drives require 15% free space to

the defragmentation. If you have a HARD drive and not of defraged for a long time you can find a part

space and increase performance of defraging (which can be very time consuming if not done regularly).
