  • Help me get back my iTune library

    Hello

I lost my mac mini 2009 with my library of more than 3,000 titles iTune.

For now, I have an old Dell with Windows 7 and iTunes.

I still have access to my iTune and iTune Store account, but I have nothing left to synchronize.

My external drive backup are all in the time Capsule and I'm now trying to recover my iTunes library on a PC...

I allowed Dell to access iTune but I can't import the content of my old iTune iPhone 3GS on the Dell library...

All I see are my recent purchase... a very small part of the library.

My music is all about the 3Gs, how can I import it on the DEll PC?

Well. can you help me please... I own this music and paid for it!

    Kind regards

    Simon

An iPhone is not a source of backup for the music.

You can restore all your music purchased on iTunes, but it seems that if you know that and you want to restore the rest.

The way to do that is to replace your Mac Mini with a new Mac, then use Time Machine as well as the Migration Wizard to restore your last backup Mac Mini for this new machine.

  • Get the iPhone to recognize the change to iTunes Library the drive letter

I'm doing something that should be extremely simple, and Apple has found a way to make it incredibly difficult. I'm moving my media to a new computer. On my old computer, all the media has been on the J: drive. On my new computer, it's all about the D: drive. Other than that, the folder structure is exactly the same. Apple says that in documentation for migrating to a new computer, activate the option "Keep iTunes folder organized Media". There are several reasons why this is not an option, mainly because iTunes is the absolute worst to organize your media folder. I've seen cases where iTunes dumps simply all your files perfectly organized in a single folder for you to figure out what that is when you get the file you need. No thanks, I'm perfectly capable of organizing my own files. Not to mention, my multimedia files are on a data disc and the app folder, where the files to iTunes library is on an SSD with limited storage. Then... Guard iTunes library trace the location of support using a "iTunes Music Library.xml" file. I've updated this file to use the new location and when I open iTunes on my new computer, everything is perfect. All my media is there with all my custom illustrations I apply (iTunes can also be really terrible at the corresponding work on music not purchased via iTunes!). If great, let's get my iPhone recognized now because it's really the only reason why I use iTunes. As soon as I connect my phone and it starts the synchronization process, it crushes everything in the XML file and returns all my music in the original location (now the music in the iTunes library has!'s next to all my music sync). You're going to go to a song and it will ask you the new location, I can go to, and then iTunes invites even to use this new location to update other files 'disappeared', but the problem is this feature only searches the subfolder where the particular file is located, you have access to what is in this case an album. Do you know how many albums I have? You mean I have to go to every single album and update the location manually? Once again, no thanks! So my thought at this point, ok, let's just resync all the music with the phone, that well that is always a huge pain given the extremely slow transfer speeds from your computer to your phone (Apple Hi, meet 3.1 USB or same USB 3.0) in combination with the size of my library (we're talking days to complete!), it's even less of a pain then go each file (or a piece of each album) and updated the location. On a side note - it would be really great if the synchronization on the Wi - Fi technology still works... I mean, they had what, over 4 years to operate and you're still lucky if your phone is recognized by Wi - Fi. That means I have to leave my phone on my computer for days and who really has the ability to do? Sorry, I digress. So, I removed all of my music from my phone and got iTunes to be happy with the new drive letter. Great, let's start the arduous process to sync my music on my phone. I re - activate the option synchronize my music and what happens, my iPhone again overwrites my iTunes library with the former location of media! Excuse me, but how is it reasonable to have the phone, which is a destination and contains a subset of your library, to be the registration system for which the files are stored in the source? I mean come on! This is absurd! I've always hated that Apple is owner and forces you to use iTunes (some of the worst software ever developed) to manage/sync your media. But for years, I have it justified by saying iPhone works simply. No worries. Well, I'll say, it does not just work and my insinuation that Apple made simple products that just don't work no longer holds water. At this point, I am very close to say goodbye to the iPhone and switch to Google project. I'm tired of less expensive phones friends surpassing my overpriced device that uses obsolete technology. Sort of, I'm sorry to dump all this on the community, but it is absolutely ridiculous that it's so complicated to change a drive letter and I am at my wits end. Thanks in advance to anyone who can offer a solution.

If you was to move your iTunes LibrRy to another drive, follow these instructions: How to move your iTunes library to a new computer - Apple Support

If you have already moved successfully, just launch iTunes while holding down the button Optio/alternate, then choose the location of the library.

  • How to import itunes library and sides of itunes on the pc to new mac

    Hello

Need help because I have recently taken the plunge and moved from PC to a Mac. I have can´t work is how to import my itunes library and the overall rating. in my opinion, it should be a simple thing but so far, all my efforts and solutions online did not work.

I tried the data migration. This has created a new user. I thought that I could transfer the files in the set (all CD), but when I click on a song in the new user, it couldn t find the file. FYI I had consolidated the library itunes beforehand.

I also tried to use an external HD drive. Same result even if I managed to put all my music on. I figured out how to export my rankings. Charge of their place and it worked until I clicked on a song and it couldn t find a file.

This really should be simple so all advice very welcome.

    Thank you

See make a library of portable split. A portable library can be moved from one platform to the other while keeping the ratings, playlists, etc. You can move the data over a network, or use an external drive. If you are using an external drive, so that you may need to copy the library twice larger Windows disks are NTFS format that OS X can read natively, but not will not write. And iTunes must be on a recordable disc.

  • Import in bulk to the iTunes library

To rebuild the iTunes library of different folders on my computer (from thousands of songs etc.), what I have to use import to library in iTunes or can I drag and drop the files in the Finder, which would be faster?

Drag & drop is probably slightly faster than with a file > add folder to library and accessing each location in turn. Having said that, in an ideal world, you put all the media you want to include in your library iTunes in the iTunes Media folder first, then add the media folder. This makes it easy to save, restore or migrate the library to a computer or a new player. For general information, see make a library of portable split .

  • moving iTunes library to a new location, then the old location is no longer available

I just restored the iTunes folder and all subfolders, including multimedia content of amy (music, videos,...), on a drive hard new, because the old hard drive is broken.

So, now, for every song, iTunes tells me "the song... couldn't be used because the original file cound not be found. You want to locate? ». Hope, I don't have to do this for every song in my library... What can I do?

Go to iTunes > Preferences > advanced. At the top is where the location of your iTunes library is specified. Click on edit and then specify the new location

  • Why don't the addition of metadata to be added manually in the iTunes library song change metadata in Windows Explorer and anywhere else?

Adding metadata to a song in the iTunes library has no effect anywhere else (as in Windows Explorer or the Groove music).

I would like to know if I have disabled this in error or if it is not guaranteed to all visitors.

Where it is not provided to customers, I would like to know how iTunes stores this metadata and whether it can be automatically sent to the library of Windows.

    Thank you.

A reason of changes committed to iTunes cannot be is covered in the tip of the user, fix the iTunes for Windows security permissions but iTunes usually returns to the original data if you probably don't see this particular problem. The other possibility is of several tags.

    Several tags (Mp3 files only)

The ID3 specification allows files to have several tags in different versions and languages, but iTunes does not work properly with simple tags. When multiple tags are present it can sometimes do not apply updates to the tag that reads back (probably update one of the others in the file) and it is also possible that the iPod and iTunes may have different rules for the tag that they give priority to. This could lead to situations where everything is properly organized in iTunes, but then inexplicably collapses on an iPod, or tracks that display different information in Windows Explorer or another media player. There are tags 3rd party editors that allow to manipulate several tags, but I don't have a casual recommendation. A workaround in iTunes is to use the context menu convert the ID3 Tags... > None a few times to remove all the labels, then convert ID3 Tags... > v2.3 to build a cool tag with information still held in the iTunes database. I've read in the past that iTunes is not completely compatible with the specification v2.4, although this may be the case, support is more however for v2.3 is widespread, then I would say using v2.3 to v2.4. All embedded work will be deleted so it must be replaced if wanted. For Windows users running a script named CreateFolderArt before and after the cleaning process tag should handle this.

Note that some data, for example the sides and the counties of game, is only stored in the database internal iTunes and not surrounded by tags.

Here's my problem...  I just got a new laptop with a disc ssd 256 GB, my itunes library is well over 150 GB.  I don't want to take the majority of my hard drive to my itunes library, so I want to keep the library on my external hard drive, music via itunes on my laptop without copying it to the wire to the laptop HD.

    Any other suggestions?

    Thank you

  • old itunes library

How can I add my i - pod old songs included in my new itunes library (which is held today in my pc and i-phones, too)?

If iTunes purchased songs, you should be able to copy them to the iTunes library on your computer by connecting the iPad and by file > devices > transfer purchases and you can then synchronize with your phone. If they are not purchasing iTunes they should already be on your computer and/or your backup of your library of downloads.

  • iTunes Library on this Mac Audio GB GB vs

    Hello

My iTunes says I have 73 GB of music, when I go to 'about this Mac' and look at the storage it says I have 127,16 GB of audio on my MacBook Pro (early 2011).

Any thoughts on why there is such a difference.

    Thnaks

Use the Finder to search on your Mac.  Looks like you have a lot of audio files that are not in your iTunes library.

  • Deletion of albums of my iTunes library also removes the songs from these albums of my playlists

Hello! I wonder if there is a way to delete albums of my iTunes library without removing songs from these albums of my playlists.

I take my playlists seriously enough (because I know others do too) and would not that they be tampered with. The songs I have in them that I'm here for a reason and a lot of these songs are single whole albums I've saved in my iTunes library. I just recently the desire to clean my library because he got rather crowded with reckless decisions, but I can't do it until I have a solution. I'm glad that I remembered that this might affect my playlists before any serious damage was done.

I still have to find a question like this or a setting that would allow me to do. Please help me if you have an idea of how to go on this subject! Thank you very much in advance

No, you cannot delete an album on iTunes and at the same time not delete tracks. You could potentially change the details of the track so that less albums appear in the library, but I'm reluctant to even suggest that he. Data are always more easily thrown only recovered later.

  • Do remote iTunes library default?

Is there a way to configure iTunes to use a default remote iTunes library?

My main iTunes library is on an iMac and another Mac I want to use this default iTunes library.

I work sharing at home between the two systems.

    Thanks in advance

    Rohit

It's a little involved if you want to leave the library on the main drive of the first computer.  Will be have to make the folder containing the library reading and writing of the computer, so make sure that the first computer is always turned on and wake up when you use iTunes on the second computer. In addition, you can only use the library to a computer at a time.
