Migrate worm Cisco NCS first 1.1.1.24 to 2.0 or 3.0

Hello everyone

I need migrate version 1.1.1.24 in Cisco NCS premium worm. 2.0 or 3.0 and I am beginner with premium

I found some docs on this migration, and I'm not sure if I need a possible license box upgrade and/or calculate the time to invest in this task.

Any help will be appreciated!

Thanks in advance

See you soon!

Ditto to what Leo said on the export of data and maps. Although it is possible to do an upgrade of several stage, you will need to turn several images of PI 1.x and 2.x to move the full backup of a product and the version to another.

Regarding the granting of licenses, customers with a valid service contract in earlier versions of the first Infrastructure - for example, PI 2.x, 1.x, NCS 1.x etc., may move to PI 3.x free of charge.

Here is a table summarizing the different scenarios (open in a new tab to zoom in):

    Any ideas?

    Hi Ben:

There are pictures .iso for Prime Infrastructure 1.2.1 and the current version, First Infrastructure 1.3.0.20 that can be downloaded and burned to a dual layer DVD (in a burner double layer DVD) and used to reimage the device with.  These physical devices shipped a factory with a hard drive that has magnetic representations of 0 and 1 on it, it's quite possible that something went past something for data in transit.  Reimage puts everything back to square one and completely rules out the possibility of anything being corrupt.

As soon as he runs again, do not forget to check and install the update patch 1 for first Infrastructure 1.3.0.20 (filename, PI_1.3.0.20_Update_1 - 12.tar.gz).

  • Migration to Cisco 1000v with portgroup Vmnic (almost there!)

I am trying to automate the following steps so that I can configure networking for a host, end-to-end (using vCenter 5.1, PowerCLI 5.1 Release 2 Build 1012425 to PowerCLI 6.0 Release 2 build 3056836). The host has two network adapters physical, one of which (vmnic0) is obviously taken by vSwitch0 during initial installation. So, I need to:

    (1) migrate physical vmnic1 a VDS (1000v)

    (2) set the GRPE of ports uplink for vmnic1 in the "system-binding rising-vc02."

    (3) turn on the VDS called "vc02-vmsc" vSwitch1 to a portgroup vmk0 management network.

    (4) physical vmnic0 pass vSwitch1 a VDS, adding to the bond rising portgroup "rising-vc02 system-binding."

I can only reach 1-3. I can handle a party of 4), moving the 1000v vmnic0, but only in the portgroup of 'Unused_or_Quarantine_Uplink' and not the one I need.

Stripped of any handling error, this is the code I used (largely provided by)

The bit that will move to vmnic0 VDS service is:

    # Get vmnic0 which is still connected to the vSwitch:
    $lastNic = 'vmnic0'
    $pnicToMove = Get-VMHostNetworkAdapter -VMHost $esxihost -Physical | Where { $_.Name -eq $lastNic }
    # Migrate vmnic0 from vSwitch to VDS:
    Add-VDSwitchPhysicalNetworkAdapter -DistributedSwitch $1000vName -VMHostPhysicalNic $pnicToMove -Confirm:$false

... but as I said, this only puts it in the Unused_or_Quarantine_Uplink group.

    1000v-migrate-uplink.png

I tried to repeat the code above this vmnic1 against vmnic0 objectives, but this indicates that the host is already member of the VDS.

I suspect that the answer lies in a change of migrate ESXi host physical adapters specific dvUplink port | vBombarded but I had no luck so far.

Help appreciated on the final bit

    Thank you.

I managed to solve this problem by using:

  • Migration of Cisco to Dell N4000/N3000

    Hello

I need some advice. We currently organize a Cisco network on integrated 3750 WLC aging and several switches (3650 and 2960). It is EOL and we wanted to move away from them anyway.

So, we bought a N4032F for the core and several N3024P/N3048P for the edge. (More) all will be the 10 GB fiber link. Now. I need to do it in stages and so I wanted to 1 core and a couple of close edges.

Cisco 3750 runs VTP v2 mode from client to server the VLAN around the network to the switches. I know that the switches Dell can't make VTP and I'll need to do this via GVRP but, as Cisco switches are in client/server mode if I change the mode on the 3750 to the customer, what will happen to the other switches still in client mode? their paintings VLAN decreases over time if they are unable to cummunicate through DRIFT to the 3750?

Basically, I'll be the transition on the GVRP on the Dell over time, but I'll only run a mixed network for awhile and this is what concerns me. The 3750 runs 'routing ip' and 'ip multicast distributed routing' there is also a gateway of last resort set up.

I think it will run for a while.

    Thank you

of course, I looked through CLI guides and wasn't able to find the GVRP protocol commands available in the 3750. Without the GVRP support, I doubt that VLAN work them correctly across the network. With the various suppliers involved, I'm not sure that there is a method to get it works. It's looking more and more like manual configuration will be your only option. Once all the material has been rearranged, you can then deploy the GVRP network wide.

    Hi all

Managed to install CEP 1.2 - change the layout is much better than previous versions.

I added our MSE supervisor blade and I get the error below.

    Fault Board supervisor Power.

However, when I go to the direct supervisor blade I see this.

Don't you think CEP straightens this place incorrectly as the MSE is not followed by the plateau of power?

If it's not it looks like I'll have to get a box connected with Cisco.

    See you soon

    Hi Dean

What exact model of the MSE is and what version of the software you running on this subject?

Second burned DVD fails as well. Has anyone tried this before? Using a virtual machine (at this stage), is not an option.

I have not tried, but don't wait until it works.

The .iso (DVD) image is tailor-made for the installation on the device of Cisco NCS material. To install on any other material, you must first have the VMware ESXi hypervisor and install using the .ova image.

  • NCS and Cisco Security Manager 4.2 servers

    Hi all

I spec'ing on two new servers; one is for a box of first NCS and other area of Cisco Security Manager 4.2. I have decided to go with the range servers Cisco UCS, but am a little unsure of something on the said recommended in the datasheet for the AC.

    The NCS data sheet

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/prod/collateral/wireless/ps5755/ps11682/ps11686/ps11688/data_sheet_c78-650051.PDF

    ... reads as follows:

    ******************************

If the first Cisco NCS deployment as a virtual appliance on a server provided by the customer, one of the following versions

VMware ESX or ESXi can be used:

Version of VMWare ESX or VMWare ESXi 4.1

    ******************************

This means that the NCS software MUST be be virtualized, or can it be installed and simply turn on something like Windows Server 2008? If Yes, through a serious disk image?

    Secondly,.

the two servers are running RAID arrays and I was wondering what are your views on the execution of any (OS, Cisco software, records and other data) set on the RAID array, or the OS and Cisco software on a separate boot disk and store data only on the RAID?

I see no reason why it would not run together on the RAID, but I'm curious to know what you think about it.

In addition, we are upgrading our WCS courses and I was wondering if some kind of migration is necessary or can we just install fresh NCS on the server and configure it accordingly.

    See you soon,.

    -Dave

    Dave,

For the first part, the NCS works only as a virtual machine.  You can buy the device hardened to it, but it's still a virtual machine, NCS is presented as a .ova.

Regarding separate them, with NCS I don't think you'll be able to.

  • First management LAN CiscoWorks LMS or Cisco? Help

In my business, we look adds a network management solution:

Some time ago, we installed CiscoWorks LMS 3.2, but we decided to install on the other more modern solution, what is the solution which recommend me?

    Requeriments:

1 000 devices from cisco management.

    Regularly perform massive configurations.

Constant monitoring of the network infrastructure.

    Backups of configuration.

    We have two solutions:

-Update the current CiscoWorks to LMS 4.x version

-buy the "First Cisco LAN Management" Solution

    What solution that recommend me?

    Thank you for your attention.

    Kind regards.

    Hi Jeffersson,

The current product packaging is a bit confusing. Cisco is rebranding all of their management under the aegis of the first Cisco solutions. All prime products have a common appearance and take advantage of some approaches architectural.  From LMS 3.2 on 4.x will put you in the first territory of Cisco.

In the 'first' products are (among others) "Cisco first Infrastructure" (also known as PI - 1.2 is the current version) and "Cisco first LMS" (4.2.3 is current). Preferred Infrastructure (1.0) began in the successor to management wireless Cisco (NCS) product and had been adding features on the way to bring it up to parity with LMS functionality to wired infrastructure. He isn't quite there right now (current comparison here) that existing customers of LMS are usually advised to stick with the latest version of the LMS for now.

Still with me? Good. If the extra twist is that 4.2 LMS is "included" with licenses of FT 1.2 - see the link guide below. So, if you want LMS 4.x, you order indeed 1.2 FT with licenses "Cycle of life" according to the number of devices you manage. (There also is 'respect' and 'insurance' adding these new features of the respective licenses. Compliance is available from LMS 4.2 in the CAAM.  Insurance is almost a FT 1.2 functionality only.)

So my recommendation to you would be to upgrade to version 1.2 of PI and to install and to use the LMS 4.2 (4.2.3 and put patched up-to-date with all the packaging of the products). If you have a VMware configuration, deployment option flexible device (file eggs) is the easier implementation,.

You may find it useful to explain this point of view of Cisco the following two links:

Don't worry not-all this will not be on the test.

  • First Cisco infrastructure reinstall - license question

    Hello world

Here's the scenario, the Cisco IP running is v1.1 (w/c at the moment is still called Cisco NCS (Network Control System) and unfortunately, she appeared.

Re-Setup was planned and they want the latest version, w/c is 2.1 installed.

    Now, here are the questions:
    1. How can I transfer my license? Should I key PAK? If so, it will remain usable for the new Cisco PI?
1.A. How can I do? I mean transfer the license?

    2. the devices not supported on the upgrade?

It's quite deep-research question, I would say. I do research in fact the answer right now, but hope someone can help me :)
I have a version of thread hard time considering that it's an old of it (and he even existed in the old name too!)

    Thank you! : D

You can move your PI 2.1 license.  Email [email protected] / * /.

  • Migration to ISE for servers 3395 Cisco Cisco SNS 3495 question

Hi all. I have a client that runs on a Cisco 3395 ISE 1.2 Server and wants to migrate to Cisco SNS 3495 servers due to the end of life is imminent. My question is - this client should buy Cisco SNS 3495 server with a new software license, or may transfer or reuse the license of the software from their 3395 servers?

What will be the best course of action for them. Thank you!!

Ah, sorry, I was referring to the base, and, the apex (or Basic, advanced from previous levels of ISE) - which are licenses only you really need to worry.  If you look at the details to the CCW, you're talking about this topic is the only one where the cost is indicated for the 3495 (except SmartNet if you added).  This is not a point of STOCK you can add/remove.  Basically, you have what you need from a material point of view when you purchase the device.  Can you rehost license software (Basic, plus, apex) once you get the new devices up and running.

  • Collection of newspapers from Cisco first Infrastructure

    Hello

I am currently working in integrating Cisco first Infrastruture with Qradar siem tool.

Can someone help me out below questions:

    (1) how and where is the paper stored in Cisco first. ?

    (2) newspapers contains logs first Cisco devices manages?

    (3) is it possible to sent Cisco newspapers first to a third-party device. ?

    Hello

    (1) how and where is the paper stored in Cisco first. ?

    / opt/CSCOlumnos/logs

    (2) newspapers contains logs first Cisco devices manages?

    AS FAR AS I KNOW,

Infrastructure main Syslogs are directly read the 514 and then filtered udp port
, no SEV1 and SEV2 syslogs are removed and not be exchanged from db. The
syslog messages will not be saved in files.

So far, PI support only syslog SEV 0,1 and 2.

    (3) is it possible to sent Cisco newspapers first to a third-party device. ?

Unfortunately, this feature is not there in PI so far.

    Thank you-

  • First 2.1 to 2.2

    Hi guys,.

I would like to know if I can back up my database/configuration Cisco first 2.1 and migrate to Cisco first 2.2

I'm looking to go from 2.1 to 2.2 without Starter everywhere...

    Thanks guys...

    Hello

upgrade to 2.2 IP. not online, that means, it must be a new installation scratch on which you can restore the backup IP 2.1

If you are upgrading from previous versions of the Core Infrastructure

This version of the first Infrastructure does not offer an upgrade on site. To upgrade to the latest version, you must instead install this version of the Infrastructure of the first form of appliance virtual on a fresh server, or order it is pre-installed on a physical device soft. You can then migrate your data from your old installation of the Infrastructure from the first to the new, using a backup of previous installation application.

If you currently use one of the following versions of the first Infrastructure, you can back up your existing data and then restore the data to another server running first Infrastructure 2.2:

    • Cisco first 2.1.2 (with patch UBF) infrastructure
    • Cisco first 2.1.1 (with patch UBF) infrastructure
    • First Cisco 2.1.0.0.87 infrastructure
    • Cisco Infrastructure first, 1.4.2
    • Cisco first Infrastructure 1.4.1
    • First Cisco 1.4.0.45 infrastructure

If you are using a version prior to 1.4.0.45 or 2.1.0.0.87, you will need to upgrade your server to version 2.1.0.0.87 (or 1.4.0.45) before you perform the backup.

If you run multiple versions of Infrastructure first where you want to migrate the data, see If you're running first Infrastructure Multiple Versions.

Don't forget that the backups can be restored to a new Infrastructure of first server that is the same size or larger than your previous server. See The Option of Installation Mode FIPS.

To back up your data to a previous version of Prime infrastructure support, follow these steps:

Step 1 if you don't the have already done: set up a remote backup repository for Infrastructure of first version you are running. For more information, see backup remote help repositories of the first Infrastructure 2.2 Cisco Administration Guide.

Step 2 take a backup of the version of the first Infrastructure application you are running and store the backup in the remote repository. For more information, see taking Application backupsin the administrator first Cisco Infrastructure 2.2 Guide.

Step 3 check the integrity of the backup, as explained in the validation of your backup.
