Migration of the existing database of victory ACS 3.3 to device ACS 4.2.15

Hi all

Can anyone suggest me how to migrate the db for windows 3.3 acs acs 4.2.15 device.

We replace the 3.3 victory device 4.2.15 as part of end of life. So we have the eap-tls/peap authentication.

It has huge files. So suggest me the steps to migrate the db to win 3.3 appl 4.2.15.

We need to upgrade to win 3.3 to win 4.0 for win 4.2 & then migrate to appl 4.2?

Or any other way to do it?

Hello

You can take a backup copy of the database of the ACS unit. You can install ACS 3.3 in windows. Restore the backup.

Then you can proceed to 3.3.4 on Windows ACS. make a backup and save it to a different location.

Upgrade the windows of the CSA at 4.1.1.24. take a backup. Save it to a different location.

Then the windows of the CSA 4.2.0.124. resume a backup and save it to a different location.

Now re-images of the device of the ACS for ACS 4.2.0.124. Restore the backup of Windows ACS ACS ACS 4.2.0.124 unit now running.

Now you can upgrade the ACS unit to 4.2.1.15.

I hope this helps.

Kind regards

Anisha

  • Installation of VirtualCenter migration with the new database

I have an existing installation of Virtual Center and sql server that was installed by an employee of the past. The installation needs cleaning and migration.

So I decided to prepare a new physical server to host a new installation of VirtualCenter and another SQL Server. I installed VirtualCenter, and the database was created. But now I'm starting to think that she can't be as easy as adding ESX hosts to the installartion of Vcenter new/database and update the IP of the server for the hearbeat.

So I have a few questions:

    (1) if I disconnect the old installation of VirtualCenter and ESX hosts, add them to the new facility, my storage adapters will remain intact?

    (2) I'll currupt one of my virtual machines on ESX host?

If I can lose data, I'll obviously have to migrate the existing database, rather than nine.

You can unplug and remove the hosts of their current instance of vCenter and then add the host in the new.  Don't hurt your VM.  You do not also lose connection also well to the storage fabric.

Just keep in mind that moving to a new instance of vCenter will lose you all the performance and historical data as well as any rules DRS/HA, pools of resources, permissions, roles, etc.

  • With regard to the migration of the Oracle database to MS SQL

    Hi all

In my application, oracle is the existing database. We need to migrate from Oracle database to MS SQL.
We need procedure is as below
1 export data from Oracle and keep it in a file. (.dmp)
2 import data from MS SQL in the oracle export file.

and vice versa from MS SQL to Oracle.

My question is - it is possible to import the .bmp (oracle export data) in MS SQL.

    Please clarify for me.

There are two options to get the data from Oracle to MS SQL.
The simplest is to create a linked in MS SQL to Oracle server and copy the data with a query like select * in oracle.schema.table my_mssqlTable; via the linked server.
Some data types will not be supported.
    That's an instant copy.

If you need a fence at real-time replication, you can use replication MS (I would not recommend because it creates triggers on the Oracle tables), or you can use GoldenGate or DataCurrents or other replication products.

  • Presentation of the existing database to a new machine

I posted the question in the forum of DB and received no usable response, so I'll try this forum.
    I'm on Windows 2008 R2 x 64 platform.
I installed a cluster of 11 GR 2 two starts for the OCR and voting disks and one for data.
The data disks are replicated on external drives in the cluster.
On a different node, is not part of the cluster I have installed the software from the grid.
I seconded the diskgroup data nodes and attached the replicated to the new node.
I installed the DB software (software option only).
Now, I want to recognize and exploit the existing DB DB software.
I can't find a way to do it.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Kind regards
    Fred

    Hello

I seconded the diskgroup data nodes and attached the replicated to the new node.
I installed the DB software (software option only).

Configure the TNSNAMES file. ORA and SQLNET. ORA of two nodes.

Now, I want to recognize and exploit the existing DB DB software.

    1. create directory audit_trail on each_node for example

    audit_file_dest          = %ORACLE_BASE%\admin\%ORACLE_UNIQUE_NAME%\adump)

2 copy or re-create a file initfile and password on each node inside (% ORACLE_HOME%\database\) for example

    cat initorcl2.ora
    SPFILE='+DATA/orcl/spfileorcl.ora'
    ...
To create password file use utility %ORACLE_HOME%\bin\orapwd.exe
    filename must be orapwd<$ORACLE_SID>

    3. add entries on TNSNAMES. ORA and SQLNET. Database ORA

4 create Windows service for the Instance database with the ORADIM utility on each node:

C:\> %ORACLE_HOME%/bin/ORADIM.exe -NEW -SID ORCL1 -INTPWD -STARTMODE AUTO -PFILE %ORACLE_HOME%\DATABASE\INIT.ORA

    5. create the database configuration in the clusterware, through orders srvctl

    for example

    srvctl add database -d ORCL -o c:\app\oracle\product\11.2\dbhome_1 -p +DATA/orcl/spfileorcl.ora -a +DG_DATA -s open
    srvctl add instance -d ORCL -i ORCL1 -n hostname1
    srvctl add instance -d ORCL -i ORCL2 -n hostname2

  • Migration of the existing groups of port DVS vSwitch

    Hey guys,.

I am looking for a good article, but so far I don't have if existing port a groups with std vSwitch ESXi can I migrate to a newly created DVS.
I saw VMs, Assistant network management, but it seems that I have to create all the groups before port.

Is this really the case? as I have 70 groups of ports and I don't want to do the job manually.

    Any suggestion?

    Thanks in advance

    Evening,

This process can be script but yes destination port groups must be created first.   I suggest to use the Onyx project to get the commands in powershell to create groups of ports.  Personally, I have 700 groups of ports and I understand your pain.   Onyx will allow you the creation of a port group unique in powershell then all you need to change is the name and vlan id.   If you have the standard naming, you should be ok...

Let me know if you have any additional questions or I missed your question.

    Thank you

  • Migration of the existing NTFS files in a virtual drive with ESX4i

I have an existing Windows Vista system with a SATA 1.5 TB filled with large files on an Intel quad-core box.

I would like to migrate this to an ESXi server on which I can run multiple virtual machines.

I bought a new 2 TB drive and a plan to install ESX4i on it.  I disconnects the 1.5 TB of disk during installation so I do not lose my existing files.

Question: What is the best way to transfer the contents of my NTFS partitions in a sufficiently large VMDK into a new virtual machine running?

A really slow method would be to use a SATA/USB adapter and copy the files on the USB bus virtualized virtual machine.

Is there a way I can build a 'temporary' virtual machine by editing the vmx virtual machine file so that I can map a virtual drive at/dev/disks/xxxxx of the hypervisor?  As soon as I knew I could map it, its trivial to have a virtual machine linux, mount the ntfs volume, and then transfer the files to a virtual machine second.

(I did play a little bit, and it seems that the biggest disk virtualized I could create in a virtual machine under ESX4i 250 GB.  No problem, since I can create a handful of small discs and then link them together using LVM, but it seemed weird and maybe a problem with my system.  Not sure if this has no effect on my question, but better ask guess.)

    Thank you very much

    Maximum virtual disk size:

Default ESXi sets the size of the block of VMFS 1 MB data store, which translates into a maximum. Size of 256 GB VMDK.

(see block a VMFS data store size limits for more details)

If you need larger virtual disks you just remove the data store created during installation and create a new one with the size of the desired block (Configuration-> storage). In your case it would be the block size of 8MB.

All the data on the data store will be lost. So make sure you do this right after the installation or you back up a VM already created!

  • D2k migration to the latest platform

    Dear friends

    Nice day

We have a challenge, I need your expert advice on the following points:

    1. So far, we are using Oracle 9i + D2k on Windows Server 2003 32-bit.
    2. Our database, forms, and States have been for the past 15 years and its been created with many controls according to the requirement of the company and works very well.
    3. Now we want to upgrade our server to windows 8 and all users have started using Windows 7 and 64-bit Windows 8.
    4. This application will not support for the 64-bit platform.

    1. I want to know what will be the migration of the existing process later. (Database, forms, and reports)
    2. What type of license is needed and about what will be the cost per user.

I will be grateful if I can get a clear suggestion that will help me to discuss with management and to plan accordingly.

    best regards

    Sandy

I'm a bit confused of your real environment. You have Forms 6i and Oracle 9i database?

If so, there is a change architecture of 6i to the current version of 11G. Cleint server-based forms 6i and you had a client installation of runtime-forms and actual execution of the forms was on the client. With 11G you need to a Weblogic Server where forms are executed on the client only the GUI runs as a java applet.

There are several built-in the forms 6i who no longer work (for example RUN_PRODUCT) and the other is no longer runs on the client, but on the application server (for example, HOST or OLE2).

Migration effort depends heavily on what features you are using in your application.

I suggest you take a look at the documentation here form of Oracle

  • Migration of the data required for LiveCycle ES2 to ES4 upgrade?

    Hello

I'm working on the planning of a LiveCycle ES2 for JBoss ES4 for JBoss upgrade, where we seek to install ss4 on new hardware (Windows Server 2008 R2).

The plan is to install and configure ES2 as the previous installation and then run the upgrade of the ES4 on top.

We are looking at installing on servers from pre-production to the sides of the current production environment. The idea being that:

    • The application that uses the LiveCycle services will continue to use the current production environment until a failover of occurs, during which the consuming application will be directed to the new environment.
    • The test version of the application that consumes the LiveCycle services will be directed towards the pre-production environment so that it can be properly tested by users over a period of time.

Here is some additional information on the current environment:

    • Only LiveCycle modules configured are as follows: (LiveCycle is simply used to create PDF files from various formats of documents e.g. Office, software of CAD)
      • PDF generator
      • Reader Extensions ARE
    • We currently have three production facilities of LiveCycle, each with its own dedicated database
      • Balancer load A is used to distribute requests to each server. Each server has no knowledge of the other two servers and effectively operate independently each other.
    • Persistent storage of Document uses the GDS
      • Similar to the configuration of database, the GDS is specific to each facility and is a local folder on the server
      • These range from records of about 5-75 MB in size and the most recently updated files are since 2009

My question is based on the current installation of LiveCycle, is necessary to migrate the existing databases\GDS or can we simply create a blank database, and use Configuration Manager to create\update appropriate tables? If a data migration is required, is this repeatable (i.e. migrate us once during a pre-production test and then a second time for a production deployment)?

In addition, it is sure to re - run Configuration Manager in order to LiveCycle point on a server different database\database?

    Thanks in advance.

Going through your notes, it seems that it would be OK (because it is only PDFG and RE), if you come to create an empty database and use Configuration Manager for create\update the appropriate table. In addition, it is sure to re - run Configuration Manager in order to LiveCycle point on a server different database\database OR manually edit data sources via the application server console. Please do not forget to watch the new documents ss4 API(in case you are using the LC APIs to invoke the services through your application) to check if something has changed and test application yor with ES4.

  • Migration of the repository from one server to another

    Hi all

We have components Hyperion (EPMA, planning, EAS, HFR, SSP) and SQL server on the same server. Now we intend to migrate SQL to another server.
Here are some questions I have:

1 we need to reconfigure the components individually?

    2. what difference it make by selecting the option ' Drop and recreate tables "/"reuse existing database.
and what db do we need to select the option "to drop and recreate tables" / "reuse existing database?

    3. How can we upgrade / reconfigure EPMA planning application on the new server databases?

    Thank you
    Nainitha.

    Hello

1.Do we need to reconfigure components individually?

I think it depends on how you have configured your existing environment. If you used the separate database for the different components you will need to reconfigure again, and then select the option * "Perform Configuration at the time of the first" * so that you can update the connection information, and then select * "reuse existing database."

2.what difference it makes selecting the option "Drop and recreate tables" / "Reuse the existing database".

Well, if you choose * "Drop and recreate tables" *, all the tables that are going to happen and it would be as good as a new installation. If you have any planning application in your existing environment, it is not available when you perform reconfiguration and select this option. In addition, you would not be able to view data etc. Forms you currently use.

for what db's do we need to select the option "Drop and recreate tables" / "Reuse the existing database" ?

I think that you should select * "Reuse existing database" * for all components as you move the database to another machine, so that it updates only the relevant information.

3.How can we update/reconfigure EPMA Planning application Databases to new server?

Copy all databases which is used as a source of data to the new machine. Once you have configured the components, you would be able to display the data source in the workspace. Update the information in this regard.

    Thank you.

I installed 11.1.2 on SQL server 2008. There is a requirement where we want to reinstall SQL server 2008. We had a return to the top of all the existing databases that we can restore once it is reinstalled. Do we need

something special for the Hyperion database we have on SQL & installtion would work as it is after we have restored the database or it will reconfigure again.

    Please advise!

If the account details, host name and instance for SQL server will remain the same so all you will need a backup of databases and then, you can simply restore.

  • Announcement for the external database - Secure ACS 5.2 or LDAP

I'm working on the project with Secure ACS 5.2.  I'm trying to determine the external database appropriate to use.  LDAP or directly to the AD?

In addition, the field in which I connect to a several subdomains.  All users are currently in the subdomains, but will move to the root domain later.  How do I set up the connection, I have to connect to each subdomain or can I connect just to the root?

    Thank you

    Hello

If you are using PEAP (mschapv2) [password based authentication] your best bet is to tie ACS to AD, because PEAP-mschapv2 is a hash mechanism that is only supported when you bind to AD, it will not work if you use the ldap integration.

Your best option is to connect ACS for the root domain, so he can use the transitive trust relationships to find the information in its subdomains.
