  I'm in a corporate environment in which users have permissions to administrator on desktop computers / laptops.  We are running Windows 7 Enterprise.  I'm looking for an alternative to Windows Easy Transfer (requires administrator rights) to migrate my user settings to another computer in Windows 7.  Data are easy enough to do what we have space on the network drive.  Is there a method of user level to save all the settings such as desktop, Favorites, Microsoft Office settings preferences, etc.?

  Hmmm maybe it's not possible to access the MySafe because the laptop is a part of the domain of s.
  I guess that the laptop was not included in the field when the user has used and saved the files in my safe.
  So maybe you could try to reverse the settings and then you might try to enter the folder MySafe.

  You can always create a folder/defaults/profile and places the files in this folder to have in a new default profile. Folders that have no content are no longer present in the version of Firefox 4 RC, but some are still read and processed.

• TestStand fails to use the application with custom user settings

  For a project of teststand, I use a .net application that uses a custom settings provider. The problem is that whenever he tries to use one of the teststand user settings, the application returns an exception:

  "Unable to load the provider type.

  I tried to illustrate the small demo project that I have attached.

  The .net application I call of test bench is AppWithUserSetting, and is one of the steps in the q.seq file in sequence to get a value from a user setting. That's where it crashes for me.

  On the other hand, if I instantiate the same objects and read the same setting from another application .net (DoLikeTestStandApp), everything is fine.

  Note that in the AppWithUserSetting settings.designer.cs file, a custom line has been added ([total:ystem.]) Configuration.SettingsProvider (typeof (AppWithUserSettings.UserAppSettingsProvider))]) to force the program to use the custom SettingProvider. And that's where it fails when loading teststand.

  No idea why? Right now, I'd rather not remove the use of this settingProvider custom because it will keep the settings of the user even when the upgrade to a different version of AppWithUserSettings.

  Once, there may be some disconnect here but I tried what you said and it works wonderfully for me. I can certainly add another user event to the cluster of user settings. Now, what can happen is that the cluster of user settings is a control while your "user event on" refnum which is in your screenshot is an indicator. LabVIEW should automatically convert to a control (and actually unplug the wire you see) because in a cluster do not have controls and indicators set.

  EX: now I'm in the field of the AAA tomorrow my domain name will change to BBB. User accounts are created in two AAA & BBB and the two domain user IDs are different.

  data servers are also migrating with the new domain.

  is it possible to access share with the old user id folder in new field or both to share the files again with the new user ID Active directory.

  We have some users who have selected the default POV members in FDMEE.  What we discovered is that user settings are priority on the application settings and system and do ensure that the user is always stuck on the POV that they put the first day by default.  They can define a different value by default each month, but I don't see the point if we update the adjustment system each month worldwide for them.  Please correct me if my understanding is not correct.

  I want to be able to clear the default values for the user and I ask not to put more.  Rather than upgrading security and giving all users access to the 'user settings' so that they can remove manually, I wonder if there is a way easier and more automated.  I can see with the following query parameters.  Could erase these files without any harm through SQL, or is there a better way?

  You don't need to bother erased. In the Control Panel options: just the Global Mode of POV Yes Application user settings & POV POV if present will be ignored.

  but now after the migration we are not able to log into the analytical page with weblogic user.

  This weblogic user is able to connect to the Console and EM, but not in the analytical page.

  2. also tried with deleting user weblogic and yet once created weblogic.

  but no luck.

  Everything you said is correct.  The persistent drive option is not available when using the flexible pools and in order to use full them you will need a type of process of redirection of folder/management profile in place.

  The persistent drive options are available on the dedicated pools that would impose the you need a desktop computer for each user who connects to this pool.

  I can easily find the directory of the user settings in FrameScript, through Session.UserSettingsDir, but it doesn't seem to be an equivalent in ExtendScript. I know FrameMaker knows this directory that the application uses all the time, and I see that there is a Constants.UserSettingsDir in the script of FrameMaker Guide, but there is no reference to this constant anywhere else, there is nothing in the documentation of FDK.

  OK, I found the answer myself.

  The property is available via the app. GetProps (), which is what I was expecting in the first place. But the following code just give an invalid object as a result:

  Hello, we have a new environment of horizon view during the installation of hardware new and ready to go

  at the moment we saw 5.1 in production. 5.1 environment is configured with dedicated workstations + user data disks. the windows profile is redirected to the user data disk. We also have records of the location of desktop and my documents redirection to a cifs share.

  We must abandon our users to the new environment with minimum disruption of our EBU end (IE not re - create profiles). We also want to integrate the management of persona in the new environment of horizon view.

  no indication on how to better accomplish the migration would be greatly appreciated.

  With regard to the use of Windows and persona profiles that should be pretty simple migration.  I had a similar situation, and the first thing I would do is to configure persona in your GPOS.  You can use the existing path or create a new path in there is an option for "Override Active Directory chemin_profil_utilisateur if it is set."   Alternatively, you can make the folder redirection with persona at the same location. Again, I would set up your GPOS with the same settings you use for roaming profiles and folder redirection, then remove the old GPO and implement the new persona profiles.  I've lived without interruption of service, but you may need to do a global gpupdate/force on the clients.
