Tecra M5: DVD player does not read these mini DVD
I have canon handycam dvd and mini dvd works on it. A month back I recorded the movie and photos on mini dvd with handycam and ran mini dvd on my tecra M5 player, it worked very well.
Now after 1 month, I have 5 mini DVD with movies and photos that I took for 1 month of vacation country of diffierent, I tried my best but tecra dvd player does not read these mini dvd, label appears instead dvd player cd player when I put the mini dvd in there.
All the other standard size DVD, CD works good about it. Its complex and as well as irritating.
Any suggestions?
Why his messedup?
Seems that the lens cannot read this miniDVD s. Maybe cannot calibrate the lens of the drive and the miniDVD is so illegible.
Try the sascha. Maybe you are a lucky man, and it works.
If this is not the case, try to remove the drive physically from the laptop. Restart the laptop without the drive. The BIOS and Windows shouldn't t recognizes the drive.
Then stops again, put the drive in the notebook and the startup of the device.
The laptop should recognize the drive and must indicate the firmware again.
I don't know if this will help but it s attemptable m

Satellite A100-447 - DVD player does not read some discs
Hello
I have a 4 month old Satellite 100-447 (PSAAN), came preloaded with Vista Home Premium and a carpet * CD/DVD super-multi UJ-850 s player.
The DVD player does not work properly. It will recognize a few blank, but never DVD-R DVD and won't recognise any DVD at all serious. He is very good with CD and DVD movie discs. It's just recordable DVD where there is a problem.
Also when you try to write to a DVD, when he chooses to recognize a TI-error in half way through.
What can I do?
Thanks for your help.
AdamHello
You can do the follwowing:
Go to this website http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp,
Download the latest update of the firmware for this drive, install it, and then try again.
Sometimes, the manufacturer must update their readers for the newer recordable media and so I think that it is possible that your drive is simply not up to date.
Welcome them

CD player does not read the series Satellite A recovery CD
Hello
I have a laptop my father gave to me and I need to restore it before using it for me because it works very slowly.
I have the restore cd but I have problems with the cd player.
It does not read some CDs, but it will not read the cd recovery so its as if it is not there. Is it possible to restore it without the cd? I'm not very super-friendly up with computers, so please simplify if possible.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you
Claire.
You can try to boot from the original CD of Microsoft Windows.
Check if this CD is readable. Then you can download the drivers from Toshiba from the European driver Toshiba page and could install the drivers
A few words about the CD drive problem, it seems that the goal of readers can calibrate in the right position and therefore some CD or DVD is not readable
In most cases, the CD/DVD drive should be replaced to solve these problemsSee you soon

Need expert help! CD player does not read the contents of the disc. Help!
I searched and tried everything what we can imagine and impossible to find a solution. I can also restore because I don't really know this error at startup. Here are the symptoms and fixes I've tried. If there is someone out there who could help me it would be greatly appreciated!
System:, I have XP w/SP3 installed. Dual-Core 3.0 G w / 3G P5N72T - MB Ram, HD 300 G, Asus CD/DVD Drive.
Symptoms:
- I had my CD player connected via PATA ribbon cable and my hard drive connected via a SATA cable.
- My CD player will not autorun when an installation disc is installed.
- My CD player will not read or display the contents of the disc when I use the file Explorer.
- My letter of CD drive is D:\ and always appear as one of the discs.
- When I use the command "run" and type: D:\install or D:\setup a windows "disk is not formatted" error appears stating "Windows is unable to read the disc. The disk might be corrupted or it could be in a form that is not compatible with windows.
- My Green CD player will sweep on and I can hear it turn every time I try to explore the files or after I insert a disc, but she never autoruns, or displays content.
- I decided to buy a new SATA CD drive and installed, unfortunately it does not work either exact problems remain.
- I have two CD drives to another computer and they both work. So I know this isn't the disc or the lens.
- I ran the utility Microsoft Fix It and she finds nothing wrong.
- I ran the TweakUI to make safe autoplay features are on.
- I did all the registry fixes proposed by microsoft and online forums. i.e. upper and lower, filters etc.
- I removed the device from Device Manager and reinstalled.
- I ran a virus, spyware, malware, and everything is clean.
- I have the latest version of the system bios and all settings are fine. Most are on Auto that are associated with the detection.
- Type of device DMA modes are selected in automatic detection.
- If I could read a disc that I could try to reinstall windows XP, but it is not an option now until my CD player is fixed!
- I don't have any installed like Nero buring CD software.
- I actually installed Nero Light to see if it would read a disc, and of course I can see the disk and copy its content to my hard drive or take an image of the disk.
- I tried to rename the drive, disconnect the drive.
- I'm sure I tried other things, but can't remember right now!
Thanks for your help in advance!
MikeHi msavage2000,
It seems you have tried most of the steps to solve this problem. However, we would like to know if the drive does recognize the drive?
As we know readers work, I would like you to try a new PATA/IDE cable and check the result.

CD player does not read the CD
Original title: Windows Installer 4.5 on a computer laptop gateway running windows7
I tried several things with windows install 4.5. I even tried sfc/scannow, and who came back under the name of no violation. The only thing I have not tried is the clean utility windows, that will help? Who's going to make me lose all my photos and music and information stored in the school's computer? The reason why I am trying to solve this problem is because the Player reads any of my software cd HP, Polaroid and Microsoft2010? someone please advise
Hi fredibar,
1 are. What utilities you referring?
2. what exactly is the problem with Windows install? As the CD/DVD drive does not read the CD, we need troubleshoot CD player. We do not think that Windows Installer is related to the CD player.
To fix the CD/DVD read the issue, try the following steps:
a. see your CD or DVD drive cannot read or write media
b. click Run Now button and run the tool successfully.

Carpet * UJ841S CD/DVD player does not read blockbuster movies
My dvd * one player UJ841S mat will be read/write everything ok.
BUT it does not recognize the Blockbuster films. I can't play a movie. Can anyone help?
David
Hello
Seems that certain this kind of DVD is not fully compatible with this CD/DVD player
Sorry, but these issues are not uncommon that you will always encounter discs which are not totally compatible and that the readers of the laser lens is unable to handle this driveBut just a question; These films are created for the European region?
I mean there are different regions DVDAs far as I know the films for European needs region 2
The United States have need of region 1 and South American setting & Middle need area 4So if you want to watch DVD designed for US then you need to change the region to 1 settings.
But note; You can change the region settings only 4 times then this parameters could be blocked, it is not possible to change it again

QuickTime Player does not read the sub file.
I tried to watch a movie with subtitles using a randomly video player, but I'm having some problems now. So I tried to use QuickTime Player to my surprise, there was no possible way to do it, but to burn the subs in the movie file. How is it that such expensive equipment does not have a video player that can actually read subs?
Please, take a look at this, I think that we should not have to download another video player to do this.
