Mini DVi VGA issues.

So I tried to find an adapter that transforms the VGA to Mini display because I have 2 monitors VGA and my video card has 2 mini display connectors, without vga connectors.
I pulled the top of many of them, but all of them (less than $ 20) say that its for the iMac and Macbook pro, etc.
If I buy one of these it still works on my windows machine?

I don't see why not, it's a hardware thing, not a problem of operating system.  The item you are looking at is basically the same as this one on their site that clearly states that it is compatible with PC, for peace of mind and the concern for an extra $ 2, you might want to get this one instead:

  • Question of DVI/VGA

We just bought a HP 700 emissary - 056 desktop computer to use with the projection of our church system. With our current system, we have a second video card that manages our projectors and the integrated video card works our desktop monitor.

The Envoy has a Dual DVI/VGA video output. My question is... rather than install a second video card in the new computer, can I get a DVI to VGA and run the spotlight OFF... Let's say, exit DVI and the office off the coast of the VGA output? The system will recognize one or the other as a "second monitor? If I can use the two DVI and VGA outputs at the same time? Or, is it (as I suspect it will be) disable DVI when I plug it into the VGA?

    Thank you!!!

Here are the specifications for the HP ENVY 700-056 desktop computer to. This model supports the simultaneous use of both outputs video. This model has a DVI - D output (digital only) and a VGA (analog only) output as shown below.

  • DVI/VGA

I just bought a HP Pavilion p7-1154 desktop PC. After getting it home, I discovered that I could not connect my vga monitors. What type of card should I get?

    Rob,

Look at theDVIport on your video card or the video port of the motherboard of the e/s of the back if you use integrated video.  DVI DVI - D ports that are?  If Yes, then what are digital-only ports and VGA is analog.

If have no your monitors DVI or HDMI, so you have a few options:

    1. Buy a DVI to VGA Converter - not recommended
    2. Buy a discrete video card that takes care of two VGA connections - hard to find
    3. Buy two digital monitors - recommended
    4. Buy a graphics card with a display port (DP) and a VGA adapter and also use a display to the VGA dongle port.  I have never tried this configuration.

  • Vs ATI HD 4650 DVI VGA - monitor attached to VGA not clear - what to do

Well, I had this problem for awhile now. Seems that it is quite common. Have a desktop HP elite with the ATI HD 4650 Vid. Two better monitors from Dell. The monitor plugged into the side VGA is less strong. I confirm this by changing their and the problem follows the VGA connection (tried both cables also). Yes, is there any use by running the DVI cable down to the video card on LCD with an adapter on the VGA port? I think not because I'd just be using the DVI cable to trasmit a VGA signal. My only solution is to replace the video card by one who has two DVI connectors?

The series of programs is 10.9 but driver 8.771 depending on the operating system and video card.  Go to the ATI web site for the latest video card driver.  HP is originally on the update of the video card driver.

  • DVI/VGA adapter.

I have a HP110-122el PC and I just bought what I thought, it was a VGA DVI adapter. The DVI adapter part again has 24 pins and a connector spade and 4 extra pins, 2 above and 2 below the pod. The socket on my tour takes the casings for these 4 additional points. Therefore, the adapter doesn't fit. Are there different types of DVI adapters or is my weird PC?

    HI Hookey,

Image (blur) below shows the types of DVI connectors.

Your description of your adapter indicates that your have a DVI - I dual-link adapter.  The socket on the PC's DVI - D (digital only). If your monitor is analog, then use a straight VGA cable without adapter. Your PC is not strange that most, if not all new HP PC are DVI - D (digital only).  You can see the specifications for the HP 110-122el here.

By your other post, your monitor specifications are here.

  • Vs vs DVI VGA HDMI

I have a new computer and monitor and eventually hopes to use the monitor for television, but not now.

Currently, the computer is used for editing photography mainly.  Is it better Setup for the vs of monitor VGA vs DVI HDMI for image quality?

Thank you very much, Paul Herd

    Hi paulherd,

The answer is simple: it depends

DVI and HDMI are similar image wise, but HDMI carries audio also with her and DVI is not working. VGA is generally lower image quality than DVI and HDMI, but it can still be pretty good according to the graphics card to your PC. If your graphics card is capable of serving high-definition resolution, then VGA is superb. All really, it depends on what you want to do with it and what your PC can do.

Here is an interesting article that talk about some of the differences that can be useful too, I found:

I hope this helps. Let us know how it goes.

  • Precision M4600 suite screen problem when it is attached to external DVI & VGA monitors via docking station

    I had a strange problem with my M4600 (Windows 7 x 64, Nvidia Quadro 1000 M GPU). Here's how to reproduce:

    1. Dock work station
    2. Connect at least 2 external monitors to the wharf, at least 1 connected via DVI and at least 1 monitor connected in VGA
    3. Select power management performance under Windows 7
    4. Change the power plan settings to set the screen turns off after 15 minutes (or any time)
    5. PC slowed down to allow the screen turns off
    6. Try to wake up the screen by moving the mouse or using PC

You will notice that the external monitors wake, but the laptop screen is not. So far, the only way I was able to wake up the screen of the laptop is in closing, forcing so the lock PC screen appears on external displays. Unlocking the computer and then reopening of the screen wakes up at the laptop screen, but also causes a crash of the GPU from Intel, which is used to retrieve the OS on the fly.

I had this problem with all the GPU drivers for my machine, than to Dell support for the own site WHQL drivers Nvidia. Anyone having this problem or know of a fix?

Note that this bug does not occur when the laptop is connected to the monitor (s) DVI only.

  • remove the bootcamp 2008 mini and other issues

I have a mini although don't remember when I bought exactly, in my opinion, is was 2008/2009 120 GB HD is full with 85 GB for MAC and 34 GB partitioned into Bootcamp/Windows. I have several questions.  I have 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 RAM.

Recently the 1 TB external drive that had my iPhoto Library, iPhoto ' 09 (8.1.2), crashed. Fortunately I had a return to the top of most of the pictures so I saved them again on a drop box account.

I just bought a WD 1 TB disk as a Time Machine backup.  I would like to delete the bootcamp partition to free up space inside of HD.  Given that I do not know which way to follow up on the OS upgrade I backup the boot camp partition.

    1. If I delete the partition should I reformat the internal HD together?
      1. If yes then I guess I have to reload the OS and files of Applications of discs, which are really very old.
    2. Once I have more internal disk space, free I can load Os X El Capitan?
      1. What is the best procedure to do this assuming that I can upgrade to El Capitan.
      2. If it's not the El Capitan case, then what is the latest OS I install, and how do I get it.
    3. With my current equipment, can I install a larger internal HD?
      1. How big, how fast?

There is no Mini 2008. The 2009 and later can go to El Capitan. The 2007 only to the Lion and can use only 4 GB of memory. Therefore, it seems that you have a 2009. Only the beginning of 2009 also has a 2 GHz processor

You can delete the partitions without reformatting.

Boot Camp: Remove Windows from your Mac

To upgrade you can upgrade just above existing BONES

    http://www.Apple.com/OSX/how-to-upgrade/?CID=WWA-us-KWG-Mac

If you have Snow Leopard now or not pleased:

Upgrading to 10.7 and don't forget Rosetta!

Yes yo ca install an internal drive more. The only restriction is that the thickness should be 9.5 mm or less. I would like to install a SSD but don't not gt a sinus fast one mini 2009 is only SATA II (3 GB/s) speed so you can't use the full speed of an SSD. However, it accelerated an SSD. I installed an SSD on my end of 2009 and there was a big improvement is the speed.

If you get a new HD do not pay for a fast given that the Mini will not use it.

  • Satellite Pro A300D-1DZ - external VGA issue

    Hello

Someone else has had this problem where to connect an external monitor/projector to the external VGA port its does not work, just showing what looks like a very distorted picture, moving around the screen.
Tried new drivers, BIOS update, change VGA settings in the bios for LCD & RGB but with no joy, does not not in Windows or in the boot.

Is there something I am missing here or is the port on the laptop really defective?

    See you soon

seems to be a hardware problem what should I do?

When hardware issues, only the replacement of the defaulting party could help you to fix the laptop.

    But try this:
Remove the battery and the AC adapter.
Then leave the hen of disconnected 30mn mobile press power button for 30-60 sec long.
Then connect the AC adapter units and batteries, and try to turn on the device...

If it will not feed into, there is definitely something wrong with the hardware...
As you say; you have noticed strange symptoms graphic... probably the GPU is the troublemaker, and in this case the motherboard needs to be replaced... This could be a costly solution

    Hello

From analog to digital, you need a good converter. I don't know your cable but the following converter may help:

  • HDMI + VGA issue / / HP DV7-4000 series.

    Dear friends,

I have a question about usig external monitor with my HP DV7.  The model # is DV7 - 4287cl

I have a HDMI port and a VGA port on this model. I intend to use an external monitor with it, but I wonder if it is not possible to use two external monitors with it since I have two separate ports?

It's maybe a stupid question but I have a specific need to use an external monitor with my laptop, and have two rather than one would not be a bad option.

    Thank you, in advance.

You can use an external monitor. The hdmi port will provide a much clearer sharper picture, but it's or the vga port will be acceptable. Two outputs is the limit of the video card, and one of those is always built in the computer screen.

This means that you must contact HP support to obtain the USB HP recovery to restore. What you did was remove the o/s and now no one can help you here.

  • maximum VGA resolution on mac mini

    Hello.

We bought a mac mini to run experiments with an old SONY trinitron CRT. Before, we used an old mac pro with an adapter DVI to VGA and could go up to 1280 x 960 at 100 Hz. Now, with the new mac mini (model 2.6 GHz) and mini-Display to VGA, we can go back only 90 Hz at 1280 x 960 (and it was not yet in the Panel by default). If we go up to 1280 x 768 or 1024 x 768, we can increase the refresh rate of 100 Hz but the resolution is too low for us.

So why can't use us the same resolution and frequency of refresh as before? The monitor and the VGA cable can manage the resolution. The limitation comes from the graphics card of the mac mini? If this is the case, it's pretty terrible. It comes from the mini-Display port? So, why use a port that have less than the antiquated technology VGA resolution? Is this a limitation of the display mini converter VGA? If so, what are workaround?

    Thank you very much.

    Kind regards

    Baptist

Not sure to be honest. I have the model of 2014 with the 2.6 GHz CPU. I'm running a screen adjustment 2 x 1920 x 1080 double digitally, and it works beautifully. Maximum supported is 2 x 2560 x 1600 for our Mini according to the manual.

My guess would be that your Sony CRT and the chip Intel Graphics Iris do not like each other much.
