Minimize / maximize / close controls missing

I just upgraded in auto to 10.0 on my Windows 7 (64-bit Home Premium). Upper right window controls have disappeared. How to make a comeback?
BTW it's the worst upgrade again, problems with the pinned shortcut on the start menu. Norton struck himself was not a bonus either. Even Microsoft, found and very incomplete.

The latest version is usually a few kinks to work, but the problem is usually a real plugin or addon wherein the user installs. Visit the last known issues & release notes for the latest version for more details.

Not sure if it's a problem of Windows 7 or AFX but Ive noticed that the top of my AFX interface disappeared.

Sound the band that runs across the top of the screen with minimize/maximize/close buttons on the right and the Project Details AFX and icon on the left.

It is not a space where he was... the rest but just straight interface to the edge.

Any ideas what I could have done (or says) to lose? Sees nothing obvious in any prefs or settings, but it would be useful because it is there!

  • Cannot minimize/maximize/close/move/resize Windows.

The right upper buttons to minimize, maximize, and close a window do not work. Respond to mouse pointer, they don't take any action when you click it. Also, I can't move or resize windows by dragging them, etc. I can always shut down windows with the task bar or the Task Manager and everything within a window function normally. In addition, some pop up dialogue boxes (that is to say, "do you want to save this document before closing?") have no text in buttons, while maintaining their functionality. Does anyone have an idea what could be causing these issues?

After further investigation, it seems that not all programs are affected by the present. Google chrome, iTunes, Adobe Photoshop, and all work normally, but not Windows Explorer Microsoft office, the Task Manager, Control Panel, etc., that all work.
    Any help is appreciated.

    Hello Eric Soleim,.

I suggest that you run the System File Checker to see if you have corrupted system files. It may take some time, so you can do when your will not to use your computer.

    Click Start
Type: CMD, according to the results, right-click CMD
    Click on "Run as Administrator"
At the command prompt, type: sfc/scannow

This will check for any violation of the integrity and repair any damaged operating system files.

    Restart your system

    Now run the command chkdsk:
1 disable any security software before you attempt to upgrade or do a clean install.
    2. make sure that your computer is updated (devices and applications)
    3. disconnect all external devices before installing.
    4. check your hard disk for errors:
    Click Start
Type: CMD, according to the results, right-click CMD
    Click on "Run as Administrator"
At the command prompt, type: chkdsk /f /r
When you restart your system, your computer will be scanned for errors and will try to correct them.

Let us know if that helps.

  • Firefox minimize, maximize, close icons become inoperative all too regularly. Opening of the menu Tools/options restores the functionality. What is going on?

As far as I recall, this started that occurred several months ago. Firefox 21.0

    Hi Whateez,

I understand that you have problems with him minimize, maximize and close icons in your Firefox browser. Is - what the whole browser crash when this happens, or that these buttons?

Please try temporarily disabling the extension Norton Protection against vulnerabilities 11.3.0.9 - 5 . Still problems?

You can also try the Reset Firefox feature that easily corrected most of the problems with your browser.

Please let us know if this solves your problem, or if you have any questions or comments.

  • 6.6 without minimize/maximize/close Lightroom (Win10)

The Menu bar on Lr6.6 is different from all my other apps in Windows 10: it's gray (not blue) and it is not the familiar minimize, maximize, and close icons at the top right.

    I have to use Ctrl + Q or Alt + F4 to close Lr6.6.

Some features of the keyboard are not Win10 standards:

Windows + left and Windows + right to not work,.

Windows + up and Windows + down are not going between a window and full screen, but the size of the window can not be changed by click-and - drag.

    How can I rectify this?

Just found the answer myself: SHIFT + F (Menu bar disappears completely) then SHIFT + F again and the menu bar is back to normal.

    Sorry to have troubled you.

  • Menu from the top (minimize/maximize/close buttons) is missing

In the view of the main Thunderbird Inbox, all above the tabs is missing. It is transparent, but the area is still part of the Thunderbird window and clicking it keeps the focus in this window. I'm under 24.3.0. I met two possible fixes for this (was related to themes, but I use the original theme, the other was to hit toggle full screen - in my case, F11 appears to be disabled or broken), but have not been able to solve the problem. I'm running Windows 7 Pro SP1, x 64

For anyone else knows this bug (Matt, it's a bug - almost all Windows apps should have at least a red 'X' button close and Thunderbird is without expection), the problem was solved when I updated to 24.4.0 (Win 7 SP1)

Thank you for taking the time to respond, guigs2 and Matt.

    Click Advanced appearance settings >
Find the caption buttons and change the size to your liking!

Also, have you changed your screen resolution lately?

Could also try to close the program and restart the computer.
