Misfortunes C309a printer & Windows 8

I recently moved to a new computer with Windows 8.1 for a Windows 7 system.  Most of the things I print work just fine but I'm having trouble to an older version of Quicken reports print (2004).  It allows to print the part of the report (level of the upper bits bit) but the rest of the page is blank.  If I save the report to a .pdf file, it prints well Adobe Acrobat.  I have never had a problem of printing these reports on the Win 7 machine.

I used the HP printer installation wizard to install the drivers and the Software Solution Center.  I ran the program scanning & printer doctor to see if she could spot a problem but he found nothing.

Any suggestions as to what I might try?

Sorry - but I have renounced the use of this forum.  Your suggestions seem to lead nowhere and it had been weeks that I had a working printer.  I couldn't wait any longer, so I broke down and hired HP Premium Support people to solve the problem.  Even with direct access to my computer and their specialized tools, it took them several hours to get the drivers to install correctly.

I must say the installation/uninstallation software doesn't seem to work perfectly and a difficult problem like that, this forum has been pretty useless.

Thanks for trying.  Too bad, that it didn't seem to help.

  • C309a printer driver fails to install, the drive M: on Windows XP

C309a printer driver tries to install my drive M: on Windows XP.  Automatic installation of HP fails because the M: drive is not valid.  What should I do?

    Hello ChappyD

If the problem is not with the printer but the computer that you got with the Agency. It seems that he may have had only a M:\ drive on the computer before and default installation of this drive that is obviously not valid, windows tries more based on the list of drives you provided previously.

At this point, the best solution would be to re - install Windows on the computer.

However, before you reinstall Windows try the following:

    1. Open the command prompt
    2. type: 'subst M: C:\. "without the quotes and press to enter.
    3. Restart and try to reinstall again.

  • Trouble installing software Cener Solution for C309a printer all in one

I've had my C309a printer for a few years now and it has worked well.  My old computer died and I had to get a new one.  I have problems to get the installed Solution Center software.  I am running Windows 7 64 bit.  I downloaded the latest software from the hp Web site.  I followed all the steps as instructed.  The printer is recognized and I can print from Word.  I can't get the solution center to load.  When I run the installation of the software on the HP website (PS_AIO_05_C309a_Net_Full_Win_enu_140_047) it goes through all the steps, but hangs at the end, then a "fatal error-wStub 459426" appears.  An error log is produced, followed by a placed file on my desktop named "HP Installation error - Windows 7".  I followed all the steps up to the wired installation step 2 D.  That is to turn off anti-virus firewall and anti and software programs.  Same error message with a different number after '-wStub ' fatal error message.  I'm at my wits end here.  Installation install photosmart essentials 3.5, but not the Solution Center software.  I need this to scan my documents!  When I try to scan from the console printer, I get an error message on the printer cannot connect to the computer screen saying.

I have downloaded and run diagnostic printer HP program tools, print and scan the doctor, who tells me that I need the Solution Center software installed.  I don't type what I said to a diagnostic conclusion.  I followed the steps in this program without success either.

I'm completely puzzled here. Can someone help me?

  • Full compatibility with Win 8.1 C309a printer?

I have no problem to install the drivers c309a using a Win 8.1 operating system that has all the undates installed, so I can print, however the software suite to operate other functions will not be installed.  When you use the latest version of the software of HP to win 8.1, it downloads and unzips but nothing after decompresses happen.  The Task Manager shows the configuration of the Installer (32-bit) HP running.  I left the Installer run for over an hour with no progress.  I repeated this process several times without success.

I contacted HP and they told me the c309a printer is not totally compatibility with Win 8.1 in what all functions like the fax and scanning will not work.

Also, I can see the printer installed from its address of sea.

Is this correct?  Dose someone out there know the real story?

    Hello

The HP Photosmart C309 is fully supported by Windows 8.1.

Try following the steps below, and then reinstall the HP software and check any changes:

    3. type hpoins*.dat in the search bar at top, if there is that no result rename the extention in old instead of dat. (e.g. hpoins1.old)
    4. type hpwins*.dat in the search bar at top, if there is that no result rename the extention in old instead of dat. (e.g. hpwins1.old)

  • C309a and Windows 8.1

I tried to install the software for my HP Photosmart C309a printer on windows 8.1

I did a clean install of windows 8 pro then updated to 8.1 before installing drivers or software.

Everything seemed OK during installation, but I think I have some functions and missing software.

When I open the HP Solution Center, I get the following options:

Scan picture, scan and send a Fax.

    Miss me the following text:

Transfer of Images, print on CD/DVD. Print Photos, share Photos and create photo projects.

There used to be a software that has been their before that I used to create art for DVD printing disappeared.

I read a number of discussions in the forum about this problem and have you tried completely

deleting all HP facilities using levels 1 to 4 uninstall and deleted all the files and registry entries and re-installed the software and still have the same problem.

I tried with the downloaded software package and also using the wizard of Installation HP and still get the same result.

I currently have half of the printer that I bought, can someone help me with this.

    :-)

    Hi, Bill.

Yes, HP Photo Creations can help you print photos, share photos and create photo projects.

To transfer images from a digital camera or a memory card on your computer, you can use Windows Embedded as drag-and-drop techniques.

HP Photo Creations does not have a CD/DVD print template, but you can be able to print on a disc with a square photo book page template , then by setting the size of the page on the diameter of the disc. (See idea below.)

Let us know how it goes,

HP... can you give me a solution or is that goes back to the shop?

Well I finally worked on the fix myself by trial and error.  I changed the security settings for 'All' and 'Creator owner' to 'Print' and "Administer Documents".  Why on earth they were not automatically allowed as part of the installation, I couldn't really say.

Hope this helps someone else with a similar problem.

    Hi @dshirley22,

    Thanks for the response back.

I would at this point uninstall all previously installed printer software. If you need assistance, here is a document that can help - uninstalling the software of the printer (Windows).

Once the software is uninstalled, use the HP printer installation wizard to help install the software. This tool will search and find the version of the drivers and the printer software up-to-date.

Please let me know if that solves the problem, or if you need assistance.

In fact, if it helps you to find a solution, please click on the 'accept as Solution' and the 'thumbs up' buttons down below in this message.

    Thank you!

  • Task bar obscures the ok button in the print window.

When I try to print, I click on the "print" key, but an another print window appears, with other adaptations can I do, if necessary. However, the OK button that controls the printer to begin printing, is on the bottom of this window and it is hidden by the background task bar. In other words, the window does not appear, and there no minimize or maximize button to reduce the size of the window, I can't see the OK button. I tried to minimize the taskbar and clicking on the top margin of the window to move to the top to reveal the OK button, but it is always hidden. I tried to go to control panel, display, appearance and change the resolution, but nothing helped.

    Hello

    ·         What program you are trying to print from?

    ·         Were you able to print before on the system without any problems?

    ·         Since when are you facing this problem?

    ·         Remember to make changes to the system?

Please provide details so that we can help you in a better way.

As a work around, I suggest you to press Alt + space, which opens a small menu in the upper left corner of the dialog box. Click the moved item or press M, which changes the four-headed arrow cursor. Use the up arrow key to move the dialog box until you can see the OK button and press ENTER to stop the "move" mode. Click the OK button.
