Missed opportunity to do recovery

When I've deployed my new laptop yesterday and started windows7 for the first time, unfortunately, the system did not accept my password (I just create confirmed and even created a security question.)

I'm not young but I'm not as well aged. I guess there's something wrong with my keyboard. I remember when you fill out the registration form, the production was not what I typed in. The letters of my name mГЄlГ. Very strange, but eventually I managed to get the correct data.

Since there was no recovery disk in the box, I'm afraid I'm stuck now before I'm even the first access to my new laptop.

Can you help me?

If you have created Windows login password and you can't use it to log in Windows preinstalled it may be problematic now.

Start please your notebook with F8 > fix my computer and try to start the installation following this document Toshiba HARD drive recovery - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD1303440001R01.htm

You can pass the stages 2 and 3?

I can't start windows, it says system32\config\system is damaged or missing I tried the recovery console and

boot from the cd that it won't start any ideas?

I cannot directions all of the Support Engineer.  It's just a Bing search engine and a link to an article.

You need to work with someone who has actually really seen and corrected this questions a few thousand times in the real world.

You must first start by entering in the XP Recovery Console and running a chkdsk/r from there.

If you do not have a genuine XP bootable installation CD from which you cn safe in the XP Recovery Console or you are not sure that you have a bootable CD, make a bootable CD of XP (no XP media required) Recovery Console and run chkdsk /r there.

    Here's how:

The question was preceded by a loss of power, aborted reboot or abnormal termination? (This includes the plug pulling, buttons power and removing the battery).

These can cause corruption in the file system that must be fixed before you do anything else.

If none of these events occurred (or even if they have not taken place), you must verify the integrity of your file system before anything else (especially "try" things).

There is zero logic to begin to try to begin to try to modify or copy files to a hard drive that has a corrupted file system, so this must first be fixed using the XP chkdsk program and run chkdsk on your hard drives may solve your problem completely.

Use the XP Recovery Console to check the file system on your HARD drive and fix the problems and then try to start your system - this may be all you need to do.  Or, you are welcome to just start trying things that might work.

Boot into the Recovery Console Windows using an XP bootable installation CD.

If you have no XP bootable media (or aren't sure you have) create a bootable XP Recovery CD of Console and do not forget.

This is not the same as recovery disks that might have come with the acquisition of the system store.

You can make a bootable Recovery Console CD by downloading an ISO file and burn it to a CD.

The ISO bootable image file you need to download is called:

    xp_rec_con. ISO

    Download the ISO from here:

    http://www.mediafire.com/?ueyyzfymmig

Use a new CD and this simple and free program to burn your ISO file and create your bootable CD:

    http://www.ImgBurn.com/

When you install ImgBurn, DO NOT install the Ask toolbar.

Here are some instructions for ImgBurn:

    http://Forum.ImgBurn.com/index.php?showtopic=61

It would be a good idea to test your bootable CD on a computer running.

You may need to adjust the computer BIOS settings to use the CD-ROM drive as the first device to boot instead of the hard drive.  These adjustments are made before Windows tries to load.  If you miss it, you will need to restart the system again.

When you start on the CD, follow the instructions:

Press any key to boot from CD...

    Installing Windows... going to pronounce.

Press 'R' to enter the Recovery Console.

Select the installation that you want to access (usually 1: C:\WINDOWS)

You may be asked to enter the password (usually empty).

You should be in the folder C:\WINDOWS.  It's the same as the

C:\Windows folder that you see in Solution Explorer.

The Recovery Console allows base as file commands: copy, rename, replace, delete, chkdsk, fixboot, fixmbr, cd, etc.

For a list of the commands in the Recovery Console, type help at the prompt of commands or read on here XP Recovery Console:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/recovery_console_cmds.mspx?mfr=true

A good idea before you start things must first verify the integrity of your file system by using the chkdsk command.

In the command prompt window, run the chkdsk command on the drive where Windows is installed to try to fix any problems on the afflicted player.

Running chkdsk is fine, even if he finds no problem.  It won't hurt anything to run it.

Assuming your boot drive is C, run the following command:

    CHKDSK C: /r

Let chkdsk finish to correct the problems, he could find.

It may take a long time for chkdsk complete or they seem to be "stuck".  Be patient.  If the HARD drive led blinks always, chkdsk is something.  Keep an eye on the amount of the percentage to be sure that it is still making progress.  It may even seem to go back sometime.

You must run chkdsk/r again until it finds no error to correct.

Remove the CD, and then type "exit" to exit the RC and restart the computer.

You have not to set the BIOS to boot the disk HARD since the CD won't be.

  • Satellite L750-1LC - Boot Manager is missing by using the recovery disk

I bought a Toshiba satellite L750-1LC and I try to create the DVD 4 to save.

On the first dvd that only he came an error reading twice, the other DVDs were ok.
When I try to recover from the DVD the recovery process got stuck on the first dvd so I had to reboot and try again, but the same thing happened to it.

After you restart the system it came a message that bootmnager is missing and windows and any other thing was gone.

Is the promotion of "No. Matter What Guarantee" "covering this type of flaws?
If so, what are the steps to qualify for this promotion?

I said that I am a Romanian citizen and I have already implemented for promotion in the specified time interval.

It seems that the first recovery disk is not created properly because you got an error message.
As I understand your message, you have tried to boot from the first recovery disc (which was not correctly created in the past) and so the installation could not be completed successfully.

Now, you cannot start the operating system, because the Boot Manager is missing and possibly the system is deleted also
I see just one solution: order the new disk recovery from here and use it for the installation of the OS: http://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

PS: as far as I know that hardware issues are covered by the warranty, software issues not covered by the warranty

  • NTLDR is missing after using the recovery disc - Satellite A100-493

    Hello

I come from Germany and I have a Toshiba Satellite Notebook, which I bought new in 2006.

After nearly three years, he started showing problems and slow, so I backed up my files and inserted the "Product recovery" CD that came with the laptop. I followed the Instructions and it began to unwind. After that about 1%, it displays a short Error Message, which I was not able to write down again and stops.

When I restart the computer says ist «NTLDR is missing, press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to restart» When I do that it shows me the same "NTLDR is missing" Message, no matter how many times I reboot the thing.

I tried to redo the whole fotmatting, but it always comes out the same way. What di - I do?

It's very strange. If the recovery disk is not damaged the only reason for interruption of the installation may be faulty HARD drive or some problem there.
If possible, try to get Microsoft WXP CD facilities and try to install Windows XP Home edition.

Please let us know if the installation completes without any problems.

  • BOOTMGR is missing: no installation or recovery disk!

    Hello.
I have a HP Pavilion dv6000 and run Windows Visa Home Edition.

I wanted to restore my laptop to its factory settings, but the Recovery Manager would not work. When I click on it it would just restart the computer without anything else happening. I then right click on computer > manage > Disk Manager and made the recovery partition active. When I restarted the computer it has started to show:
    BOOTMGR is missing
Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete
Of course, brings us to the same message after restarting the computer you. I can't access the F8 button. F10 only works (Bios). I do not have a recovery or installation CD because it came not with the laptop when I bought it.
Is there anyway that I can change the active partition in drive C, this deactivation of the recovery partition? I read that it was possible to access Disk Manager cmd window, but I do not know how to access since the key F8 does not work (makes just a bipping sound when you press on)?
I'm also abroad so cannot send my laptop to HP for fixed it. Any ideas?
    Thanks for your suggestions.

Scroll down the page and get > Bootable CD ISO and > ImgBurn to burn the iso image to cd, a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write an ISO on a disc is here. Once created, boot from it and allows you to change the active partition.

  • Missing files of system recovery

I have a laptop HP 2000 PC build 9600. I just got this notebook to my friend and the first thing I wanted to do was to do a restore system back to factory settings so I watched a video and found how do this so when I whent to go the laptop told me she had missing files so I could not do a system restore I asked my friend if they had any cd that the laptop has most provided with, but they weren't, so I looked online how to solve my problem, if I can do a system restore.

    Hello:

First you must determine the exact model of your HP 2000.

  • Drive D is missing after using the recovery CD

    Hello
This is my first time using the toshiba forum! My problem is that after that I used the recovery cd and rebooted my laptop, I can't find my D drive!
I have a P100-277 100 GB HDD divided in drive C and D, now only 100 GB on my C drive.

What can I do to get my D drive?

    Thank you very much

    Hello

You have probably chosen standard recovery option. Standard recovery option erases the entire HARD disk and creates a partition. How to save the contents of the previous drive D is the right question.

I've never done it before, but I'm sure you can find some tools on the net or PC magazine. Will you please Google around and I'm sure you'll find something.

  • Satellite L655 - missing file when creating recovery media

    Hello

I just bought two new Satellites a L655-1EM and a L655-17V (I think - pink and red). In any case I tried to burn some media of recovery - which I find a little cheapo, making do us it ourselves!

During the process, he said there is a lack of file and hangs on. I tried this on the machines and the same result. I use discs double layer. Any ideas? Do Toshiba shell on a disc of recovery in such circumstances - I already DL three frisbees lol.
I'm more than worried a little, as if something bad happens I have no confidence that I will be able to recover.

    Some tips/advice?
    Thanks in advance :)

    Hello

Have you ever tried 4.7 GB standard DVD?

I used the Verbatim DVD-R 16 x 4.7 GB speed to create recovery discs and it worked correctly. I t n have no problem. The discs I've tested without any problem.

    You can test this please?

  • Bootmgr missing after the system recovery using discs HP

I recently used system restore disks to restore my laptop as long as you plant. Once the restore program disc and the pilot has been designed, it is ignored on the screen to finish without any confirmation of a facility. The system has rebooted and gave the message Bootmgr is missing. CTRL + Alt + Delete to restart. Same result when I did.
How can I get the system to find/fix/create a file Bootmgr to the win 7 OS.
Use a Pavillion dv7 entertainment series 17 '' laptop with DVD, bluray, blutoothe, built-in wifi, finger photography and recognition.

    Thank you

You must boot from the installation media you made.

Then you should see a screen that says install Windows on the lower left side of the screen, there should be an option to repair your computer.

That's what you select (to fix your computer), and then you use the microsoft article to repair the boot sector.

If this does not work, unfortunately I won't be able to help you more, because I have no idea where to go from there.

  • Is "No single slip for iphone" a missed opportunity for the designers and Adobe?

We have a customer who is interested in a single folio application and others in our agency who would like to sell customers on their free edition to both the ipad and the iphone hardware, but the cost of downloads is too big an obstacle. I contacted adobe for custom pricing (contact a representative if you have any questions about prices) and the cost is always monumental for publication to this free application platform. If an application of DPS where to become popular, it could easily cost as much as a native application.

Does anyone else think that it takes a level of extra price for things like free catalogs where we are not able to charge for the app? I love the toolset and I'd love to be in the middle of this new momentum for the Tablet, but my current project is directed to the interactive group.

It would be unmanageable. Say that you put it in the app store for free.

What is to stop you from changing the price?

Adobe is supposed to check every day on these applications?

Unique Edition for iPhone and Android is very requested. I doubt

you will never see it for Android but iPhone? Who knows.

  • Re: Satellite C650D-12J - recovery of missing HARD disk image

I have a Satellite C650D-12J with Windows 7 home premium 64-bit. For some reason, she came back to 32-bit. Everything I need on the computer was backed up. I tried to do a complete system restore by pressing F8 and followed the instructions.

The response I get is that the recovery of HARD drive file is missing. I looked at the partition of the D drive on the computer, there is nothing there. I have also no internet access then uses a machine to friends of this post.

Is it possible download drive HARD copy on my laptop and recover the laptop of the software?
If so, how do the hand on the software and use it?
Please be nice to me I'm old enough and I have enough trouble understanding basic use to much technical jargon.

Thanks much for any help you can give.

    Hello

I ve checked specification for your laptop and it says that your laptop has been delivered with the 64-bit version only.
    > For some reason, she came back to 32-bit.
Something like this is NOT possible. You can have the 32-bit version only if a 32-bit version using Microsoft OS installation (clean OS install). Best evidence missing original 64-bit recovery image.

    > The response I get is that the HARD drive recovery file is missing.
Where you can see this message?
When you start the laptop and use F8 to display the advanced startup options is option fix my computer?

  • Ahead Nero software recovery

The initial installation included ahead nero burning rom software that is now missing after a system recovery. Unfortunately I can not find (Ahead Nero) software on the cd for additional software or any other cd that came with the computer (Satellite M40X 129) you can (Toshiba please you or someone else) Please tell me where I can find the software?

    Thank you

    Hi Martin,

I think that you copy of Nero Burning Rom may have been added after the OEM Windows on your laptop.

Are you laptop with a Toshiba dealer? It is possible that they may have added Nero before you take delivery.

As far as I can see Toshiba include Sonic Record now on the M40 range for DVD burning.

I suggest you talk to the one who sold you your laptop for a copy of the missing software.
