missing bookmarks on macbook pro

All my favorites have disappeared completely on my macbook pro firefox version 16.0.2
How can I get back them? Please notify. Thank you

If you have restored a JSON backup successfully, then you should not delete the places.sqlite file current as which would reset (delete) bookmarks once more.

You can delete backup copies you made by renaming places.sqlite (e.g. places.sqlite.old) that these copies are no longer needed.

  • my iMac has eaten my list of bookmarks. He left me with a smaller abstract has nothing that I use. He did this on my personal MacBook Pro too. I need these bookmarks for work!

iMac used to work... macbook pro for personal use. This weekend I noticed the list of bookmarks on macbook has been reduced to almost nothing and was not what was there anything I used normally. Report to work this morning and the same list of bookmarks is on my work computer. all brands of book that I use for work disappeared. How can I do to try to find my list of bookmarks. I did not any changes to the list or something like that. This iCloud is linked. Honestly I try not iCloud. Keep in mind that I suck at computers related things.

Use your Time Machine backup to restore the bookmarks. Here are the instructions:

Bookmarks in Safari are all stored in a file called bookmarks.plist, located on ~/Library/Safari. To access this file in the Finder, choose home page menu reach. Open the library folder, then open the Safari folder.

Once you have located the file in Time Machine (we must return to a time where you knew you had), click it and restore.

BTW, OS X won't eat bookmarks. You or another user on your computer does something to lose. By chance you run antivirus or cleaning applications on your computer? If so, this could be your problem.

You will see only the "List all tabs" button in Firefox 12 + if it has that many tabs open you get the scroll bar tab buttons appearing.

  • transfer bookmarks of a 8 year old PowerBook G4 for a MacBook Pro - is - it an easy way?

You just bought a MacBook Pro - used an old PowerBook G4 for 8 years. I'm setting up of my MacBook and would like to transfer my favorites in an easier way than going to each site Web and bookmarks. Can I use the article on synchronization between computers, firefox settings? If so, part 1 talks about game upward on my main computer - consider my MacBook Pro is NOW my main computer... or there at - it an easier way to do it?

    Hi milkbone,

If you have decided to move to the new computer and don't use the old one, I'd take a glance article back up and restore the information contained in the Firefox profiles and restore bookmarks from a backup or move them to another computer .

If you are still using the old one or if you using sync would be easier to transfer your data, you must enable Firefox Sync on your OLD computer first. Then you could sync all bookmarks to your new computer. After that, you can remove your old computer from synchronization if you do not use it.

    Hope this helps!

Stuck in the date and time, just a general nightmare.

I have a MacBook Pro and recently upgraded to Yosemite.  I used the time Machine before I upgraded.  My Seagate 4 T worked very well.  Started a back-up and he started to save and quit - Time Machine says something not be checked?  and then I noticed that all my files are gone.  I have a partition separated for my Time Machine and my photos and they are all gone too.  I'm afraid to unplug the Seagate and turned off my Mac.   I see that my external hard drive is still partially used in the two partitions.  Show my photos in Lightroom with the? • 2013: MacBook Pro replacement motherboard or not

    Brain Trust,

    I need some advice here.

I have a 2013 fully bridged on (500 GB SSD, 16 GB of RAM) MacBook Pro and the sound from the speakers awefully distorted.

I did all the regular troubleshooting inclusing a clean installation of the operating system, applications 3rd party and the problem persists.

The distortion is NOT dependent on volume, it is still there, as if the sound is cut at all levels.

Now, the headset on the port is perfectly clean, so I think I have it narrowed down to the (material) built-in drivers for speakers. I went to the Genius bar and they agreed and recommend a motherboard replacement. Since I have a month left my Applecare, I could do it, but I hesitate. Professionally, I rely heavily on my machine on a daily basis, and I fear that a machine otherwise perfect with zero problems (other than the problem of speaker) will be messed up.

What is your experience with a motherboard swap and what do you recommend I do? Live with the distortion and contemplate a great Macbook, or opt for repair until the warranty runs out. NB, I have a very old Macbook that I can use for the week or I'll have to miss my machine.

    I'll answer my own question:

Do it! I had a fantastic experience! Not only was my main problem, distortion in speakers, correctly diagnosed and resolved, since engineering also saw a small white spot on my screen (who had been there forever), I also had a nine screen. Not only that, I got a new valve and bottom plate, so after 3 years of intensive use, my Macbook Pro looks like new again. Total costs under Apple care program: $0.

It's really the only problem with Aplle MacBooks: my excuse to buy a new went through the window, this machine will last me a few years ago!
