Missing built-in Ethernet

I have been using built-in ethernet, including the last 2-3 weeks clean installed El Capitan without problems. Today, inexplicably while working all of a sudden I'm not connected to the Internet. Network group says cable is not connected, and the usual troubleshooting ensues. I deleted all panel network connections, and the elements of Network/Library/Preferences and rebooted several times, and now network it is even not an ethernet interface. Information System > watch only network: bridge of Thunderbolt and a Wi - Fi, FireWire, Bluetooth PAN. No ethernet.

OK, so I start a live image of Linux Fedora, he sees and uses the Ethernet very well. So the material is clearly OK, it seems that the OS has somehow planted face.

Boot with command-r and Safari in the recovery environment works fine on built-in ethernet. Restart the system installed, and it is still not found. The only clue in the system log is:

26 FEV 19:55: 46 MacBook Pro kernel [0]: com.apple.iokit.AppleBCM5701Ethernet Kext is in the exclusion list, not loadable

26 FEV 19:55: 46 MacBook Pro kernel [0]: can't load kext com.apple.iokit.AppleBCM5701Ethernet - was not found.

    Hello

Ethernet controller can be a LAN or WLan card.
Have you installed the network card driver?

All the drivers are located on the European driver Toshiba page:

  • Unplugged - Ethernet cable disconnected

    Hello

I have the new Mac Mini (end of 2014) running OS X El Capitan 10.11.3 version.

I was able to connect to the internet properly using the wired connection. However, after the last reboot I did, I can connect is more and where to open system-> network preferences I see Ethernet connected not-> cable disconnected.

The problem is that the cable is connected, and the network is working properly for other devices. I tried to use another network cable and switch to another port in the router, but does not (the same ports and same cables work well for other devices).

    The WiFi worked very well.

Any thoughts on how to fix this annoying problem?

    Thanks in advance

    Missing built-in Ethernet

  • Ethernet interface disappeared

As I rebooted my laptop this morning, I didn't more wired Ethernet network. I have not installed updates yesterday, but yesterday it worked correctly. It is not a problem with the router or the cable, because it works correctly with the other laptop. The router detects when I connect the cable (the port lights) but the router has no ARP entry for the connection (only for wifi that I need to write this question). In addition, it still works the WiFi.

Restarting the laptop does not help. I opened 'Network Preferences' and I removed the Ethernet network in order to recreate, but surprisingly, the 'Ethernet' interface does not appear in the list more (it is available WiFi, Firewire, Thunderbolt 1, Thunderbolt and Bluetooth PAN bridge). With the Network Diagnostics didn't help either. I also tried to test the equipment with the Apple Diagnostics (by pressing D when starting the laptop), but I did not need to start the diagnostics.

It seems that the ethernet driver has been uninstalled or misconfigured.

I have a Mac Book Pro (2011) with OSX El Capitan.

Any advice on what to do?

    Thanks in advance

  • Satellite P100 - missing controller Ethernet

I was wondering if someone can help me. My laptop Satellite P100 (PSPA3C SD300E) is missing from its ethernet controller and I have problems installing. I downloaded the Chip Set Utility and running, but when I run Intel's LAN on Toshiba support that he ask me if I want to delete the drivers all Intel Pro network connections wired. There is only a single .exe file which is PROUnstl.exe.

According to me, Miss me something here. Sorry this may be very simple to solve.

I hope someone is able to help.

    Thank you

If the network adapter is not installed properly it will be displayed in the device as unknown device manager. Please download driver LAN from the Toshiba download page and extract it to a new folder on the desktop.

In Device Manager enter the properties of this unknown device and select the option to install the driver. Follow the on-screen menu and navigate to this folder.
The driver will be installed correctly. Just follow the menu on the screen.

  • Ethernet connection not found

I have an iMac (retina 5K, 27 inches, end of 2014).

After the start, today, I had no Internet connection. Network preferences showed not connected Ethernet port (it was). I also have the same cable to my MacBook and it worked perfectly.

Network Diagnostics didn't help: it simply says that the computer does not seem to be connected to Ethernet, etc., and ND couldn't do anything.

I have reset the SMC and the PRAM, nothing.

I removed the network Ethernet interface in the network preferences... and he couldn't add. The option is not simply there:

    Try this:

Start the computer in Safe Mode, and then restart normally. It will be slower than a normal startup.

Reset the PRAM and NVRAM on your Mac.

Repair the hard drive and permissions - El Capitan

    HD recovery start:

Restart the computer and after the buzzer, press on and hold down the COMMAND and R until the menu screen appears.

    Repair

When the recovery menu appears, select disk utility and press the continue button. Disk utility charges and select Macintosh HD entry indented from the list on the left.  Click the first aid tab in the toolbar... If disk utility reports any errors that have been corrected, then re-run first aid until no errors are reported. Wait until the operation is complete, then quit disk utility and return to the main menu. Select restart from the Apple menu.

Now, download and reinstall OS X El Capitan 10.11.3 Combo Update.

  • Mac Pro does not recognize the Ethernet ports

After a reboot for my end of 2013 Mac Pro OS x 10.11.3, the two Ethernet ports are most recognized. Suffice to say not 'connected' is one of them.

    I have:

    • rebooted a couple of times
    • Reset the PRAM
    • the power disconnected for several minutes left
    • tried two different terminals
    • tried two different Ethernet cables
    • tried the two Ethernet ports

The light of the end device will blink.

    WiFi works fine.

What should I do before I decide that there is a hardware problem?

  • ThinkPad 13 - OSD - no boot pxe with ethernet dongle?

We have just received a new kind of model in our catalog and I know it is not built-in ethernet port, so we use a usb dongle ethernet. On the machine, it has 3 x USB 3.0 ports. I put the Intel USB 3.0 driver 10.0.10.255 (eXtensible Host controller) and boot on the usb startup key. After WinPE is run the dongle (usb) ethernet must receive an ip address which it won't.

The BIOS setting boot only passes of UEFI/Legacy to "legacy".

    My dongle ethernet (4X90E51405) is installed as-> "Thinkpad USB 3.0 adapter Ethernet" (RTL8153.ndi, USB\VID_17EF & PID_7205 & REV_3000)

I removed the usb 3.0 extensible... driver starting the system of image because it doesn't do anything. It is only the driver for the ethernet dongle that solved my case-> https://support.lenovo.com/be/en/documents/pd029741

Change the boot method 'only legacy' wasn't the answer either so I changed all the default values.

  • PCI device and SM Bus, MISSING controller and impossible to INSTALL - HP Pavilion g4 1264ca

I had recently done a clean install on my laptop and when I rebooted, it was missing the drivers for the PCI device and SM BUS controller. When I go to Device Manager and try to reinstall or search the hardware changes, my computer is unable to install. Also, I was missing my network Ethernet and wireless drivers, but I installed the appropriate via the HP website drivers. However, still miss me these two pilots. I tried to install on my laptop, but just AMD chipset, which creates more problems because once the program asks me to restart the computer it remains stuck to the Windows loading screen (rotation around the Windows logo colors). If someone could find the right drivers for me download or ways to diagnosis this problem, any help will be greatly appreciated.

Laptop model: HP Pavilion g4 1264ca

    Hello:

You should definitely the amd chipset drivers to install the smbus controller.

Here's what I've done for you...

I have zipped and attached just the driver files raw you must install manually only under attachments below smbus controller.  As you saw that the chipset driver file contains a lot of other things as well.

Unzip the files in a folder.

Go to Device Manager and click the controller smbus needing drivers.  Click on the driver tab, click on set to update driver.  Select her browse my computer for driver software method and navigate to the driver folder, that you unzipped.

Make sure that the include subfolders is selected and the driver should install.   Then restart.

The PCI device is the card reader that needs a driver...

I need to switch to admin mode to enter the new IP address for the new direct jet but Home tab does not appear on the display. Can someone tell me how to access this screen? I think it's in a certain type of security mode? I tried a cold reboot, but it did not work.

This machine has a built in ethernet port also but it looked bad so I installed a Jetdirect. I have to disable the original ethernet port? Or printer will recognize where the network cable is plugged?

Thanks in advance for the help

    Thanks SHThomson

Great idea! I didn't know that the Jetdirect would hold the network settings, if it is removed from a machine.  If I understand you correctly, I can set up a Jetdirect on a LJ4250 then put the jetdirect M3035 customers?  I guess that this will allow me to get on the web interface page and change the settings of the screen to display the menu tab, etc.

    Thanks again
