Hello

1. do you remember any changes made on your computer that could have caused this?

This problem occurs if the Windows Media Center update process (Mcupdate. exe) cannot access the database of Windows Media Center. You may experience this problem if the data store is corrupted. So, try to rebuild the Media Center data store. To do this, follow these steps:

Method 1:
(a) exit any running instance of Windows Media Center.

(b) remove the file from Store.db to mediaCenterData. By default, this file is located in the following location:

%SystemDrive%\ProgramData\Microsoft\eHome\mediaCenterDataStore.DB

To remove the file, follow these steps:

(a) click on Start , then run .

(b) in the Open box, type run and then click OK

(c) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password, or click continue .

(d) in the Open box, type %systemdrive%\programdata\microsoft\ehome , and then click OK .

(e) in the details pane, right-click right mediacenterdatastore.db and then click Remove .

(f) click Yes to confirm that you want to move the Mediacenterdatastore.db file to the trash.

(c) now launch Windows media center and check it out.

Method 2: . Click on the Start button, click principally made programs, accessories and then right-click on command prompt, in the right-click menu, click Run as administrator.
2 type the following commands, press ENTER after each line.

regsvr32 atl.dll
CD C:\WINDOWS\eHome
ehSched /unregServer
ehSched/service
ehRecvr /unregServer
ehRecvr/service
ehRec.exe /unregServer
ehRec.exe/regserver
ehmsas.exe /unregServer
ehmsas.exe/regserver

If the problem persists, proceed to reinstall Windows Media Center:

Method 3:

a. open the configuration/programs and features Control Panel.

b. click on "Turn Windows features on or off" in the left pane.

c. expand "Multimedia functions", uncheck "Windows Media Center". Click 'Yes' to continue and click OK to exit. Then restart.
Note: If you turn off your WMP, Windows Media Center will be off either. You may need to reconfigure the settings for Windows Media Center after her reactivation.
d. open "Turn Windows features on or off" again. Activate the 'Windows Media Player' and 'Windows Media Center' features. Turn it back on.

If the problem persists, proceed to reinstall Windows
