Hello
1. don't you also get an error with the message code?
2 have you installed third-party readers part?
3. What is the format of the files you are trying to play?Follow these steps and check if they help.
Step 1:
I would have you readers of third party temporarily Uninstall and check if persists it to the question.
Step 2:
Most likely you need codecs to play these files with Windows Media Player. I suggest looking up codec in the Internet that supports the file format, download and install them.

Hello
You will remember to do recent changes on your computer before this problem?Disabling Mcupdate.exe scheduled task has allowed little to resolve this issue. You can also try turning it off and check for the issue.Method 1: Disabling Mcupdate.exe scheduled task.
1. click on start.
2. in the search box, type Task Scheduler.
3. under programs, click Task Scheduler.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password, or click on continue.
4. in the navigation pane, expand Task Scheduler Library, expand Microsoft, expand Windows and then click on Media Center.
5. in the details pane, right-click right mcupdate and then click on disable.
Method 2: Rebuild the Media Center data store and see if that can solve the problem. To do this, follow these steps:
a. exit any running instance of Windows Media Center.
b. remove the mcepg2 - 0.db file. By default, this file is located in the following location:
%SystemDrive%\ProgramData\Microsoft\eHome\mcepg2-0.DBTo remove the file, follow these steps:
i. click on start, type % systemdrive%\programdata\microsoft\ehome, and then press ENTER.
II. in the details, click pane right mcepg2 - 0.db and then click on remove.
III. click Yes to confirm that you want to move the file mcepg2 - 0.db to the trash. This file will be automatically created once you restart windows media center.I hope this helps. Thanks and greetings

BUT he has given me hope and showed me in the right direction. I had worked at this for 4 days now. I learned a lot through the links you sent me and I could finally get it fixed.

You mean PDF not PDL. (I presume).
Save a PDF to your HARD drive, make a click right, choose 'Open with', choose "choose default program", choose Acrobat, and then at the bottom of the dialog box, click "always use the selected program to open...". "and then click OK.

Dccuments PDF sent by email are switched to docs in Windows Media Center by clicking on send
This just started yesterday. An ordinary red PDF attachment that I add to my email seems normal and ready to send email in Windows Live Mail. When I click on send, something happens that changes the attachment PDF of an attachment of Windows Media Center. When I check the sent items I find the attachment is now a green oval on a white page with color logo four windows in the middle. When I click on this attachment, opens a window of Windows Media Center in dark blue. Here, I see a list of items to click on, such as DVD, images, videos, films and TV. My PDF attachment is over.
Because I can't see my PDF document, I expect that the recipient of my email also does not receive it.
No idea why this is happening? My computer has been hacked? What is the result of a malicious virus?
I did a scan of my computer and have found no threat or unusual events.
David

You did changes to the computer before the show?
Method 1: I suggest you try the steps from the following link:

How to configure keyboard shortcuts in Windows Media Center?
Hi all
I do know that if this is possible, I wanted to be able to change the keyboard shortcuts used in Windows Media Center.
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-AU/Windows-Vista/Windows-Media-Center-keyboard-shortcuts
For example, to use the "ESC" key to "Go back to the previous screen" (currently 'return BACK').I could not find how to do this on the forum. The reasoning behind it, is that I use my cell phone as a Bluetooth remote, and current controls, I, has a 'ESC' key, but none touch "BACK".
Thanks in advance,
NickHi Nick,
I'm sorry to inform him that you will not be able to configure and assign a new set of keyboard shortcuts in Windows media Center. You should only use the shortcut key that aim in Media Center.
Go to the link below to know the shortcut keys that you can use in Windows Media Center.

I hope this helps.

Whenever I click on the more tab in the firefox browser, Isearch.claro page opens. I want to get rid of my computer completely claro. Please tell me?
Hi jirothankyou, that sounds like an add-on, installed itself without your consent. You can try to remove the Add-ons that might be problematic since the Add-ons Manager. The process is explained here. If this does not work, or that you have never installed add-ons, or you want to have a quick fix: just to reset Firefox. This will remove all the Add-ons and put Firefox by default, but it will keep your history, bookmarks, passwords etc. Here is a description of how to do it: Refresh Firefox – reset settings and Add-ons.
Let me know please if this helped.
