ML6000 changed both disks to LTO5

Changed two LTO-4 to a single drive LTO-5 drives.  I put the LTO-5 drive into the slot in control (0.2).  It will not come online.  In troubleshooting, I get:

Resolve the Type of tape drive change
Troubleshooting steps:

Remove the original configuration of the partition drive, and then add the new drive to the partition configuration according to steps 1 and 2 below:

(1) from the main Menu, select
-> Configuration partitions. In the Setup-> Partitions menu, choose the partition to edit and select 'change '. On the Partition menu edit, deselect the original from the list of readers drive and select 'apply '.
(2) in the Setup-> Partitions menu, choose the partition to edit and select 'change '. In the menu Partition change, select the new drive in the list of drives and select 'apply '.

However, the readers the path of control for this partition of accommodation are not selectable and can not be deleted.

I don't know what would be my next step.

Hello cbrun,

You will need to do is Flash the ML6000 firmware. With the ML6000 library, it uses disks serial # to know what players are in the system. Since you changed the drive trying to do an upgrade of the firmware on the drive, he can do the last level of the drive that was previous in the system. Also since you have reduced your number of disks of 2 disks in 1, you need to Flash the firmware to the library until the correct address table element can be corrected. Here is a link to the firmware for your ML6000. http://www.Dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/DriverDetails/product/PowerVault-ML6000?driverId=F6K26&osCode=WNET&FILEID=3364832797&LanguageCode=en&CategoryID=Ta

After that you have flashed the firmware to the library, you will need to go to the library and putting the drive online. Here's how you can do this via the web utility or from the front panel.

  • In the web client, select operations > Drive > change Mode > Online > Apply.
  • In the operator panel, select operations > Change the Drive Mode > Online > Apply.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

  • HARD does not work after changing the disk partitions recovery media creator

    Hello world

    After installing windoows 8.1 April major upgrade (win 8.1 presents as OEM), and have shrunk C partition to create a data partition "D", "Troubleshooting" option under advanced start menu is no longer available.

    Toshiba Recovery Media Creator does not work, too (it can not find any hard disk recovery partion).
    I got in the OEM recovery partition.
    I am also able to create a recovery using the Windows tool unit.
    You have no idea about it?

    Thank you very much!

    Hello

    Sorry to hear about all this. Unfortunately, you now have a big problem. I don't understand why you didn't create support of recovery before you started to change the factory settings, including to change the structure of the partitions of HARD drive.

    Mobile offered with factory settings a structure specific partitions and recovery recorded image is saved on the partition of drive specific and marked with invisible markers. These markers are visible for preinstalled Toshiba recovery media creator tool and when you start the tool can find points of reference and has full access to specific files.

    Unfortunately, after changing the original scores structure Toshiba tool cannot find these markers more and is not able to copy files from recovery media recovery. What you need now is the original recovery disk. Using this disk, you can install original recovery image and after doing this, you will have new factory settings.

    I know it sounds stupid now but you must order the original recovery disk and it can be done on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

    You can free up disk space (will also help get rid of the things that you do not use) through the following steps:

    You can disable hibernation if it is enabled and you do not...

    When you Hibernate your computer, Windows saves the contents of the system memory in the hiberfil.sys file. As a result, the size of the hiberfil.sys file will always be equal to the amount of physical memory in your system. If you don't use the Hibernate feature and want to reclaim the space used by Windows for the hiberfil.sys file, perform the following steps:

    -Start the Control Panel Power Options applet (go to start, settings, Control Panel, and then click Power Options).
    -Select the Hibernate tab, uncheck "Activate the hibernation", and then click OK. Although you might think otherwise, selecting never under "Hibernate" option on the power management tab does not delete the hiberfil.sys file.
    -Windows remove the "Hibernate" option on the power management tab and delete the hiberfil.sys file.

    You can control the amount of space your system restore can use...

    1. Click Start, right click my computer and then click Properties.

    -Click on "Settings" and change the "amount of disk space to use: ' something between 64 MB and 128 MB. (There may be many more now.)
    -Click OK.
    -Click on 'Delete files', then select "Delete all offline content" (the box), and then click OK. (If you had a LOT, it can take 2 to 10 minutes or more).

    Hello MrRedPants,

    Since you are using a configuration not redundant you will have problems trying to modify the paths between the controllers since the two hosts have only a single connection to the MD3000.  What you could do if possible is to get 2 more SAS cables & connect ports second on the MD to RAID opposite that the host is currently connected to.

    Now, if this isn't an option so that you can make is to have 2 disk groups and assign the virtual disks / LUNS that are connected to each host in their own disk group.  If you go to each host their own groups of disks, then you will need to stop the e/s as you move the Ramdisk to the new group of disks so that you want to discard any data loss.

    Please let us know if you have any other questions.

  • Epson print driver changes both margins to address for the envelope printing. Three other printers print the addresses of envelope with correct margins.

    I bought a new all-in-one Epson Wireless WF-3540.  So new Epson technical support people had one to test my problem.  I like it a lot because it has two trays cassette for 250 pages each, and a page break back.  For the love of the work I do in this description I use the back form feed on the Epson only.

    Suppose I have a business letter in Word 2007 using Windows XP Pro.  My default printer is a HP 932 C.  I click on Mailings, Create, envelope and print it.  The result is the number 10 envelope with the address of the left retour.3,.3 of the top and the address of destination 2 inches high and 5 inches from the left.  Exactly the way I want it.  A selection button.

    Suppose I have install the new Epson WF-3540.  I opened the business SAME letter in the same Word 2007 using Windows XP Pro.  This time around with the Epson WF-3540, I followed the same procedure for click mail merge, Create, envelope and print.  The result is an envelope of number 10 with the return address 1.5 inches from left to right top et.4.  The destination address is 3 inches from the left and the top 2.25.  The non-professional delivery address looks and interferes with the USPS standards.

    I worked on the problem for two days.  I was on the phone with Epson for a total of four hours.  Here are the various attempts to set this right using the Epson WF-3540.

    1. in the Ribbon to create open envelopes, click options, and set the margins for the return and destination addresses as I would like.  I always use the et.3 valeur.3 return address and the destination address in 5 and 2.  I put these values in the options, click OK.  Print the envelope, and it is printed as I've described above with Epson.  In looking at the options for envelopes that they were changed to Auto.

    2. I have a test with the help of the same letter of businesss, Word 2007 and Windows XP.  I set the default printer to the HP.  This time I select envelope, add to the document.  I see an image of the envelope, watching leaders aside, it looks I want.  I close Word 2007, without saving the changes.  I have change the default printer to the Epson, open Word, the same letter from the company and select the envelope in the document.  It seems to appear in the same strange settings how it prints.

    3. I tried to change the margins of the envelope in the document with Epson as default.  When I try to print it throws an error telling me that I am trying to print outside margins.

    What are the effects of the behavior of the default printer?  Why the change in the appearance of the envelope both printed and in the document when I change printers.  What does the print driver? has to do with the formatting?  The installation of the Epson gives something in the registry that control margins almost anything.

    Epson told me there is no problem, but they are ready to buy the printer back to me.  Remember that they don't even have one to test on.

    I tried adding some dummy printers, without the actual printer and using the drivers only.  For example, I added an Epson ActionLaser 1100.  When I set it by default and use the same letter sales and Word 2007, I click on the envelope and add it to the Document, the addresses on the envelopes are exactly where I wait until they are, using the ruler on the side.

    What is - this subject a new printer is to control this mess?  I'd love to keep him.  I do a lot of letters and need the rear feed and must be able to one click printing envelopes.

    I had the same problem with my Epson WF-3540. Came to this site looking for the answer after the Epson site doesn't seem to have an answer. After reading the posts, I went to the printer, and I gave it a try more. I found what seems to be a solution but not transparent, that it worked.

    I noticed that when I tried to print the envelope property printer box shows the paper letter size (8 1/2 x 11) and not an envelope (#10). I changed the setting as the skin #10 and checked manually minimize margins. I then used the button Add presets save this as # 10 envelope as a new preset. This allows to print the envelope in the current printing of the page with the ability to use almost the entire surface of the envelope. You then switch to printing standard predefined when you are finished.

  • Change the disks used in the disks of OCR/vote DiskGroup

    Hello

    RDBMS...: 11.2.0.4

    ... OS: AIX 7.1

    In our environment, we have a diskgroup used to store records OCR and voting. The diskgroup contains 3 discs 15 GB each and is configured with normal redundancy and is called "OCR".

    My question is: We must change these 3 discs with 3 new disks to a different memory. I would like to know if it is possible to add these new 3 drives in the diskgroup OCR, wait for rebalancing and after this operation, remove the old records? This approach is viable? Or we need to create a new diskgroup, place the OCR and the discs with right to vote in this new diskgroup and remove the old diskgroup?

    Thanks in advance.

    You can add and remove asmdisk by using the procedure in the DSO without problem, make sure just as there are enough failgroup to contain the votedisk.

    OCR and ASMSPFILE connection:

    The OCR and the ASMSPFILE are stored similar to how Oracle database files are stored. Scopes are spread across all disks in the diskgroup and redundancy (which is the measurement scale) is based on the redundancy of the disk group. When you add and remove some asmdisk these extensions are moved automatically during the rebalancing process.

    No relocation is necessary for OCR to ASM SPFILE.

    VOTEDISK topic:

    The VOTEDISK is not stored as OCR, each VOTEDISK (one per ASMDISK) are placed directly on the ASMDISK (near LUN header) then is necessary relocation Votedisk.

    Suppose you have 3 asmdisk each own FAILGROUP disc (A, B and C) and you add more ASMDISK 3.

    So if you use a normal redundancy, you need to configure at least 3 new failgroup (a failgroup for each new ASMDISK).

    When you issue "Alter diskgroup xx drop... drive A, B and C" the clusterware start automatic resettlement treat mobile votedisk to disks on failgroup D, E and F.

    You will see the process on the alert_log of ASM and cssd.log.

    After finishing process of rebalancing, check if they fall on disk have a status of 'TRAIN' and there is no votedisk thereon ($ crsctl query css votedisk).

  • VDR causing many changes in disk block.

    So I have two equallogic SAN is being replicated on a 20 MB WAN link.  During the day, my volumes will create like 3 GB of changes every every 8 hours. I have also setup VDR to make a backup on another volume on the SAN is not replicated.  I see that when done VDR saves my virtual machine, this generates a lot of changes on my volumes that have then been replicated.  What is VDR to my vmdk to make so many changes?  What is normally about 3 GB of changes, VDR will create approximately 17 GB of changes.  I'm guessing something with CBT (change tracking block) generates these big Delta?

    Thank you

    -Craig

    I guess the reason for this is that VDR - as well as other backup solutions - create a snapshot of the VM before doing the backup job and then - once the backup is complete - deletions / consolidates the snapshot.

    This means that during the backup, all changes within the guest OS what are written in a snapshot file, which - after the backup - merged for the Basic virtual disk. This double the blocks of data that must be replicated between your storage systems.

  • RMAN backup destination changed on disk

    11.2/Solaris 10

    We had implemented the backups for a DB go using tape

    CONFIGURE DEVICE TYPE SBT_TAPE PARALLELISM 1 BACKUP TYPE TO BACKUPSET; # default
    It worked very well.

    Yesterday we had to take a special cold backup for this DB on the disk. By using the FORMAT parameter to point to the location of the disk, I took this backup in NOCATALOG mode IE. using the control as the catalog file.

    Now, when I connected to the catalog for this DB and did a WHOLE SHOW. I see that the backup location is changed on the drive even in the catalog.

    CONFIGURE DEVICE TYPE DISK BACKUP TYPE TO COMPRESSED BACKUPSET PARALLELISM 1;
    This has happened because of resynchronization. I think so.
    So whenever I take disk based backups by using the control as the catalog file, I connect the real catalog RMAN schema and return to the location of backup using SBT_TAPE

    CONFIGURE DEVICE TYPE SBT_TAPE PARALLELISM 1 BACKUP TYPE TO BACKUPSET; # default

    Run {}
    allocate channels c1 type DISK;

    output channel c1;

    That she should not update the Setup value of the channels, rman to the Ribbon in the catalog or the controlfile.

  • Why change both valueCommit does not fire?

    I have a datagrid displays the result of the search, when I click on an item in the datagrid control, then the selected item fill a textInput (txt01).  I put a listener for the txt01. If the txt01.text changes, it will call the initialization function. But the event does not get fired.
    I tried both ways
    This. txt01.addEventListener ('change', init);
    This. txt01.addEventListener (valueCommit', value);
    Nobody works. Help, please!
    Thank you in advance.

    I don't see the point of your event listener. If this method is the only change in the value of the dispName.text property, you have no event listener to trigger the call to the initEditPerson method.

    Instead simply use:

    this.dispName.text = this.dgSearchNameList.selectedItem.editDisplayNname;
    initEditPerson();

    At the moment your event listener is not called because you add after you set the property. To get the listener to be called, you need:

    this.dispName.addEventListener("valueCommit",initEditPerson);

    first of all call to the dispName.text = 'something'.

    At the moment the valueCommit event is sent to the line:

    this.dispName.text = this.dgSearchNameList.selectedItem.editDisplayNname;

    but at this stage the event listener has not been added yet, so the valueCommit event has no listener registered to it.

    Now nor security help or Toshiba Assist and safety, let me change or remove my HDD user password that I enter on startup.

    I don't use a BIOS password.

    In case of security help, show section under Startup type HARD drive password, HARD drive password icon is "green circle". This confirms that I have an active HARD drive password.

    But when I click on the "key" icon, there is no display password and not the ability to delete.

    When I click on the link of the green circle resulting value password user window allows me to enter a password, but that the area under "to make the same string at the same time that the HARD drive password is grayed out.

    Sounds like a registry problem to me.

    Any help would be appreciated gratefully.

    Hello

    HARD drive password can be deleted in the BIOS too.
    Have you tried to delete the HDD password in the BIOS?
    Please check this box.

  • Change startup disk

    My current boot drive is full, and this causes problems.

    What is the best way to install a new system on a different startup disk and I have to reinstall all my applications everywhere.

    Any help and advice appreciated.

    If you want to replace internally, you can use SuperDuper or double clone to create a clone. Then format the new disk and either clone back or set up fees and use the installation wizard to migrate.

  • Accidentally changed both to 'standard user' user accounts, so now there is no user "administrator."

    I changed the two accounts to standard user accounts, and now of course I can't make changes, or download anything. Whenever I try to change anything, a UAC popup window appears, but that still leaves me not chang anything. Help.

    I think that window version my computer is XP (home).

    Thanking you in advance,

    Ms. lee

    It must be a built-in Administrator account that does not remove-able.  When you get to the login screen, hit Ctrl-Alt-Del twice.  Then you should be able to enter "Admin" as user and leave the password empty (unless you have changed in the past).  Then, you should be able to create other users with administrator privileges or other functions of the administrator.
