  It is a method, not a property.  Before Panel.Open property has been deprecated.

  I tried to open an existing to open the front panel button... excel file but looking in the forum I found two examples... attached... done with the document word and another notebook... However I am unable to do it with excel...

  In the second example that uses Sysexec.vi... I tried to enter the path of excel file... but it does not open... but same file opens when I write it on 'Run' in windows vista...

• Switch Soft Front Panel, active device classified

  I have a with PXI chassis modules, two switches PXI-2350.  Using the Soft Front Panel switch, it seems that the names assigned to the list of active device (both 2350's in this case) are backward, what to expect.  Is there a way to reassociate those names to the 2350's physics?

  It's an interesting question that I've never seen before, your devices in a Soft Front Panel should be linked to features like labels in MAX.   Or are you talking about the Test panels you open in NI Switch Executive? The test for NI Switch Executive panels refer on behalf of virtual device NI Switch Executive, not the DAQmx device name. If you had named the name of the NI Switch Executive virtual device in the same way, that could be part of the confusion of the problems that you see. See the images below:

  I would recommend adding a case structure just around the two record VI and a button to check the condition of the structure of each case. If you want a button to control both save functions you can put the two record functions in the same structure of business controlled by a single button. You are right in saying that the loop will cause your code runs until the stop button is pressed or until the stop condition is met. If you are wanting the while loop to stop once the recorded information you can use the button that you use to control structures case to also stop the while loop. I hope this information helps.

• Outsourcing of the controls on the front panel for a panel floating Subvi

  I already found a few similar topics, but I still don't know which is the best way to solve my problem. I will try to describe my problem in detail first: I have a main VI that acquires data from a device and displays these data in a large waveform graph. I have also a few controls on the front panel to control my device. First, I placed all of these device controls (digital, sliders, etc.) as well as the chart inside the front of my main VI. However, due to limited screen space now I would like to make the largest possible graph and so decided to "outsource" some controls out of the main façade of VI to several panels front-end Subvi.

  I would then press a button in my main VI and it would open the Panel before the floating of the Sub - VI corresponding with outsourced controls when required. However, everything must be absolutely transparent. It is important that floating panels to run in parallel with my main VI, that is the main VI must continue to operate. That way I'll have my data constantly updated in the chart in my main VI while I can change some settings of the device through the controls placed in my SubVIs.   Yes, the Subvi can keep the façade open until the user closes. And there should be no flickering.  The biggest drawback I see right now is that when you expect an event in the Subvi, the mainVI cannot stop without talking to the Subvi to stop.  So you'll need another channel of communication (again a global, a queue, a declarant or an event) to tell the Subvi that she must stop.

  Instructions to fix a corrupted in 2011 VI or more:

  1. close LabVIEW

  2. Add connPaneRecoveryMode = true to the file LabVIEW.ini (-the file LabVIEW.ini is located in the folder of National Instruments > LabVIEW 2011 > LabVIEW.ini)

  3. open the VI corrupt.

  4. press CTRL + A on the block diagram and the copy / paste to a new VI.

  5. save the new VI.

  6. close LabVIEW and remove the token of the ini (VERY IMPORTANT)

  7 restart LabVIEW and load the new VI and check that it is correct. Save

  Just plugged the connector 4 poles on my headset combination for my mobile phone (cellular) and the box of pop - up asked me to select headset or microphone - no selection for both.

  Looks like the right sleeve is for headphones only, and the left one is for headphones or micro - selectable by the user and not the two on a single sheet.

  Everything explained by the practice - but not the paperwork in the manuals.

  #5 for microphone or headset - menu popup is displayed after you insert a 3.5 mm plug to select that one but not both at the same time.  (So I can't use my headset to phone)

• Satellite L500D - what is that annoying red light on front panel?

  I have my L500D the normal five system LEDs on the front panel of the base computer, where they are supposed to be. But then, to the left of these fires, there is that annoying red light, which is very distracting.

  But what is even more annoying than not one, + not a + manual owners I've read mentions none, + not even a hint. The manual mentions the other lights in their patterns, + but not this one. :-(

  Now, I'm assuming it's something really simple, and I publicly show how blind or stupid (or both) I really am. :-) But for love all holy, and before that I lose all of my hair, can someone tell me what is all simply as the red light?  :|

  And, while you're at it, maybe you can tell me how to turn it off! It would be a very unique experience for the moment. (B-)

  Yes, it's a little boring, but you can turn it off by pressing Fn + F8 but in this case the wireless connection turns off. As for me, I use any wi - LAN, my knees is connected to the Internet by cable, and I never use outdoors.

• OR scope Soft Front Panel fails to load

  I use the scope Soft Front Panel OR with my USB NI 5132 for some time successfully. However, recently it has stopped working completely - seems to load a bit then fails before you even open the screen. The same thing happens in MAX I did all the updates critical, uninstalled then reinstalled NI Scope, uninstalled Labview (the only thing I had changed after the last time, I know that it worked successfully) and checked the nitaglv.dll library was in the right place according to this post: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/63739991438EC593862579C6007301EC

  So far nothing's worked. I NI SCOPE 4.0 and NI-VISA 5.3.0 installed, and the computer could see successfully the digitizer USB 5132 Max after the relocation OR scope, well that the flexible façade does not always load and making the Panel test Max also does not.
