Model #: WAG54G2 router ADSL Modem

Hi there are Admins.,.

I bought this model almost 2 months back. It's up & ongoing enforcement and connected to my DSL (Ethernet cable) with Windows Vista. When you do that, it must have set it self without my intervention.

Now I would like to reconfigure to use as device wireless to connect with multiple external devices, but some how I'm not able to telnet or connect to its mode of administration. Even if I did your Setup before but some how I forgot his password (my bad).

Can you please help me, identify or access the configration mode is while I can attribute with external wireless devices?

Well, in this case you need to reset the router. Make sure that the power led on the router should blink when you press and hold the reset button. Press and hold the reset button for 40 to 45 seconds, power cycle it and check.

I have problems with the connection between the router ethernet (4 years) and my PC (which is 2.5 years).

Before turning on the PC, all 5 on the router are turned on, but as soon as the PC starts up, the led of ethernet cable goes out and stay out.

I tried the router on my old PC (7 years) and everything works OK.

I did a factory reset and the installation CD of Linksys disk.  He gets in regard to step 4/4 and comes up with the message "Waiting for Gateway" followed by a new message "Cable Ethernet 321 error not connected".

When I type 192.168.1.1 in the browser, it says I have no ethernet/internet connection cable not connected.

When I return to the old computer transfer there is always all the lit 5 and there is no ethernet/internet problem.

    Any ideas please?

Sorry for the delay in coming back here.  The PC doesn't quite work because of an electrical storm, and I had to buy a new power supply to operate.

So the initial problem was caused by the motherboard and I adapted a new Intel x1.0 NIC and it has cured the problem.  The router is OK and everything is back to normal now.

    Thank you.

  • WRT300N router with Modem ADSL AM200

    Hello

I searched this forum and found a few pieces of answers, but I'm still a little confused...

At the moment, I have a Linksys WRT300N router, connected to the Internet via an ADSL Alcatel Speedtouch Home modem, on an ISDN line.

As I no longer need ISDN, my network operator will be week next "downgrade" my ISDN line back to simple line RTC, that involves to change the separator of a model of ISDN a PSTN (made by the engineer of the operator) and also change the ISDN compatible ADSL modem a PSTN one.

How very happy I am with the Linksys gear I already, I went to a Modem of ADSL Linksys AM200 . On the box, it is mentioned, it can be connected to a PC or a router. However, all the indications in the manual I downloaded (I have not yet opened the box of ) refer to the right connection to a PC, including providing parameters PPPoE, DHCP configurations, etc...

I don't need all that, like everything is already set up to a break-in of my WRT300N router. I'll be able to get the AM200 straight out of the box, simply it exchanges with the Alcatel Modem? Or will I need to configure it in a special way to disable all the stuff that I don't need in the modem (NAT, DHCP, PPPoE configuration,...)?

In addition, I understand that the modem has an IP 192.168.1.1 as standard. I will be able to access its trough of configuration interface of the router, which is 192.168.2.1 as confured?

I found it frustrating that the documentation did not provide some basic information about the connection of the modem to a router!

I'm trying to understand in advance what I'm going to have to do, because once the line swiched to the PSTN, the Alcatel modem won't work any more, and I have no Internet before the new AM200 access, I get up and run...

    Any help will be appreciated!

You need to replace your old Modem with the new one, if your ISP is a DSL then you must enter a few basic parameters and you'll be ready to go.

  • E2500 - Integrated ADSL Modem

After a full day of searching in the forums, I think I know the answer to my own question, but wanted to ask just to be sure.  I got an E2500 because I wanted to REPLACE my 3600HGV modem 2 wire because it doesn't support QoS.  For some reason, I thought the E2500 had an ADSL Modem built-in, but from what I read is not.  Is this correct?

Yes. You are right. The E2500 is a router and not a gateway or modem/router device.

To be more precise, this is the product link

  • WRT54GS2 and Siemens ADSL modem - give up Internet connection

I have a problem with the internet connection. I have a Win98 Office connected directly to a DSL - SIEMENS Speetstream 4100 modem. This connection works well.

I had a (old school, blue and black) WRT54G wireless router connected to it which enabled me to use my laptop Windows XP Home. I upgraded the router to a WRT54GS2 so now I lose the internet connection every minute or so while connected through that. The connection between the modem and the router goes down, not connecting to desktop (wireless) or the laptop. And if I switch to the direct connection through modem, I get a solid and reliable connection to the Internet.

Is there a problem with the ADSL of SIEMENS modem and the Linksys router plays well together?

I tried ipconfig/release and / renew on my laptop and desktop, I disabled all computers, modem or router and put power back in the right order: Modem, router, desktop and laptop.

Why the new WRT54GS2 loses internet connectivity when a direct connection through modem loses no connectivity and the former was reliable?

    Thanks in advance.

Your ADSL modem is in Bridge mode. He made the PPPoE connection and then transmits the IP addresses, etc. via DHCP on the connected device. Several people seem to have problems with these modems and different routers.

I suggest you to that you reconfigure the ADSL modem in full bridge mode (i.e. the modem really works as a simple modem and does not connect to the internet itself). Full bridge mode, you should be able to configure your router with PPPoE and connect directly to the internet. This should work better.

If the ADSL modem is smart enough it can automatically switch in full bridge mode if you configure the router for PPPoE.

You should see the difference in the DNS servers that got the router. Half-bridge mode modem ADSL seems to assign its own IP 192.168.0.1 as DNS server address. If you connect directly to your ISP, you should see the IP addresses of the DNS servers of your ISP.

  • Problems with ADSL modem Satellite A100 - isuser.dll might not be installed

I tried in vain to install two different modems for ADSL on a Satellite A100 (running Vista).
I started by uninstalling the drivers on the computer and then install the new 32-bit drivers from the manufacturers Web sites. (Tompson ST330 and Alcatel 330).

Installation always seems to be going well until the end of the process, when he said that he did not and suggested that I call my ISP.

It seems odd that two separate modems, made by different manufacturers do not reach a similar to the installation point.

I know that the usb cable, filter, cable, modem and line are all ok, as if I unplug the modem to my laptop and connect it to my desktop (XP), the desktop can connect to the Internet without any problems.

At this point, I got an error message that says "an installation support file that c:\...\_isuser.dll could not be installed - Access denied. "SpeedTouch PPP adapt."

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    > I did uninstall the drivers on the computer and then install the new 32-bit drivers from the manufacturers Web sites.

CA? It's really difficult to understand what exactly you were doing! Why did you deleted the drivers from the laptop and then installed all drivers from the manufacturers Web sites? And that the drivers have been removed?

The entire description confuses me?  :|

However, in my opinion, is there something wrong with the system files. The simple and the best way to solve this problem is; Recover the laptop with the CD after the operating system configuration and recovery Toshiba around trying to install the ADSL modem as shown in the modem manual!

Install all 3 third-party applications or drivers after installing the CD recovery because of the bad influence!

  • The local network settings for arbitrarily lose connectivity with ADSL modem

    Hi all

I have a SAGEM 1500WG ADSL modem for internet connection and a laptop Satellite A100 (PSAA9). I noticed that arbitrarily, the ALARM led on the modem of DSL connection worked again (according to the lights on the modem) and the real problem was that I couldn't ping my modem. The problem was inside my local network. I can't be sure that what happened outside my LAN because I could not reach even the modem.

The only solution is to reset the modem. After 4-5 months of use, I have concluded that, whenever this was happening, I used Azureus to download a movie and this download was pretty slow (for example because my counterpart have fast connection). Also, I was connected with wire and NOT using the modem wireless. This means that: the problem never appeared when the wireless or Azureus works and download a significant amount of data.

I wonder if the LAN driver has any firewall installed on it. Or if she has any function that transforms the power driver LAN offshore when there are very few or no data go through it for a certain period of time.

Or East-Azureus has any odd décor that reminds you of something above?
The combination I think is problematic is "adapter LAN + Azureus work + very little data being downloaded. Maybe I'm a little confused. Anyone who has experienced the same problem or can come up with an idea will be extremely useful.
    Thank you very much.
    Lambros

    Hello

Don t think that there is a problem with the LAN settings or the LAN driver on the device!
Your data transmission to low and transfer depends on your service provider Internet (ISP) and the server.
Your Azureus application does not for me, but in my easy it s a transfer of connection and the data of the software simply PEAR-pear file also depends on the number of users and the connected clients

  • Encryption advice please WRT160N router/gateway/modem wireless

I would like clarification on security and encryption please.

I have a WRT160N router/gateway/modem wireless with WPA security is enabled.  I have a wired office with LELA installed and a wireless laptop.  A key is required when connecting the laptop but on page properties in LELA, it says "wireless encryption - no ' is this extra encryption in addition to the security theWPA. WH n I try to enable it, LELA asks the password admin but after entering that does nothing (except once again ask!)  What I am doing wrong?

    Thank you

That your network is already reached, but him dosent software LELA display you something on your safety. This means that the LELA was not able to properly synchronize with the router and its wireless settings. So in this case, you do not have to worry about this, if you want you can uninstall and reinstall the LELA software on your computer, that might solve the problem. Or of another Complitely uninstall LELA software from your computer.

  • Recommendations of ADSL Modem

    Hey,.

All of our customers 'Most' of the CISCO routers and ADSL connections / Security Appliances have only "Ethernet" to connect to the WAN.

What do you recommend for an ADSL Modem? We have a customer using a netgear DM111P but having a few problems.

So I was wondering if you have any suggestions about the best device.

    Hi Peter,.

    I'm sorry for the delay.

You can find the 'how' set to SRP527w mode bridge attached.

  • PIX501 and ADSL modem - new

I am using a DLInk ADSL modem in conjunction with a PIX501. The modem acts as a dhcp server provides an IP address of 192.168.0.x by which it can be configured initially and then the 'real' IP assigned by your ISP.

While this works well with a PC does not work with a pix, (I think I infer correctly? -using the debug dhcpc) the pix will not accept a short-lived lease - see below.

DHCP offer Message offered address: 192.168.0.2

DHCP: Rental seconds: 10 dry renewal: 5 connect dry: 7

    DHCP: Server ID Option: 192.168.0.1

    DHCP: offer received from 192.168.0.1

DHCP: offer a lower lease, min: 10. punt

DHCP: offer not good enough. punt

Is there a way to change the period of minimum rental required by the pix?

You may need to upgrade to a version of the PIX OS, who does not have a limitation of minimum rental period. Please see the bug CSCdz09957.

  • Windstream says interferes with ADSL modem router

I signed up with windstream DSL internet service yesterday. I have a netgear wnr1000 n150 router and a flow stream 4200 dsl modem. Everything was fine until an hour ago. Service was very slow. Then tried to get on Netflix on my tv and it does not load. Checked my network status and he said connected to the router but not the Internet. Tried unplugging everything, wait and then plug upwards. Connect briefly, then lose the connection. Called Windstream. She says that my IP address is in the red. A unplug the router to the modem. She then said IP address went to green so my router is interfering with my modem. She said call netgear. Unable to call because I have a subscription. Is anyone familiar with this problem?

Then your Speedstream works as a router. You can choose one of the two options I provided in my first answer.

  • Install RVS4000 with ADSL modem / router combo?

I am trying to install a VPN RVS4000 router in our small office.  My problem is that AT & T has installed a Netopia 3347-02 combination of DSL Modem / Router.  So I can not connect the RVS4000 directly to a dsl modem, the only access I have is on the side of the Netopia DSL.  When I tried to affect the rating the RVS4000 the same subnet as our local area network WAN, he wouldn't let me do.  I tried to adjust the side Lan side of the (same) RVS4000 Wan and the Netopia slightly different subnet, but that no longer works.  The only way I can get internet access through two devices is to connect the side Lan of the Netopia alongside the RVS4000 Lan, but that circumvents the VPN, correct?  The reason why I bought the RVS4000 is to the VPN.  Is it possible to configure the RVS4000 in this situation, or should I get a plain old DSL modem without router integrated?

    Thank you, Scott

    Scott,

It should not need to get another device to use the VPN of the RVS4000 features.  To set up the equipment you have, you just place the Netopia DSL router in the 'bridge' mode  This will then allow you to connect the DSL router to the WAN (internet) port on your RVS4000.  Once in bridged mode, your WAN on the RVS4000 port will receive its IP address of AT & T, which will then take over the functions of routing and allow you to use this router VPN functionality.

If your DSL provider uses PPPoE, you will need to select "PPPoE" on the RVS4000 WAN configuration page, and then enter the user name and password in the RVS4000 so that it can authenticate and obtain an IP address from AT & T.

To put the Netopia DSL router to "bridge" mode, I included a link to one of their user's guides.  The section to put it in Bridge mode starts on page 107.
