I have a modem USB Vodafone running on a version beta of Windows 7 and worked great until one or the other Windows update. Now, when I paste in it sometimes and sometimes not seen in my computer, but my thing, I see that it is connected but wana doesn't do a thing.
Everyone has the same kind of problem?

    What can I do?

    Hello

    What laptop you have exactly?

Well, it's really hard to say what it is because you are only running beta OS that can contain a lot of problems. Windows 7 isn't out yet and so it of also a bit more difficult to get drivers or support.

But you have installed a driver for the modem? Normally, you can use the Windows Vista drivers. Most of them are also work on Windows 7.
I recommend also updating the chipset driver. You can also try the Vista version on the Toshiba page.

    Hello

Given that Windows 8 is a new version could not be applications/drivers designed for Windows 8. You can install application designed for an earlier version of Windows in Windows 8 by using compatibility mode. Follow the steps.

    (a) access to the start screen

    (b) press Windows key + C on your keyboard to show the charms (if you have a touch screen: touch the right edge of your screen and slide your finger to the center of the screen to display the bar of charms)

    (c) search for troubleshooting, click settings in the right-hand column.

    (d) click on troubleshooting. Click on run programs for previous versions of Windows.

    (e) click Next, select do not appear. Click Next.

    (f) click Browse and select the installation program that you downloaded via the link above.

    (g) click Next, click the troubleshooting program.

    (h) check the program worked in earlier versions of Windows but won't install or run now box.

    (i) click Next, select the latest operating system known to work (probably Windows 7)

    (j) click Next.

Please refer to the article below:

  • VMware Workstation 7 and Modem USB Huawei E1550 broadband

I have Modem Huawei E1550 Broadband USB.

I install the software and it works fine without problem.

When I connect the Windows 7 Ultimate x 64 identify two piece of hardware (CD-ROM and 3 G USB Modem).

Windows 7 stop identify Modem USB when I connect it and when I try to quit after removing the USB Modem, he never stop

I'm trying to uninstall VMware workstation 7

The return of the Modem to work.

I install VMware Workstation 7 again.

    The modem stop to rework

What should I do to work around this problem?

As a test, you can re - install vmware workstation (the latest version) and after the installation if you meet him problem go to Microsft services

    > Start > run > servics.msc

find the Vmware USB arbitration service

Double-click on > Startup Type > set to manual > click stop > OK

Now, make sure your devices are running, or you can always restart as well.  Now, you will not be able to use "pass through" for your virtual machines, but this seems to be a bug known, and currently no ETA

Now, for a permanent solution to the users have restarted no problem with the help of Vmware Workstation 6.5 - this thread also covers this:

  • Equium A200: Modem USB - disconnection after a few min

    Hallo,

I have a Toshiba Equium A200 computer laptop with Windows 7 32 bit. I have been using a Modem to USB Internet MTN on it for a year now.

Two months ago my Web pages stopped loading (on Google Chrome, Firefox, each one) USB would be connected, with a good connection, but after 2-3 minutes of surfing, my webpages simply won t load more, unless I do a restart, in which case I would just repeat the process.

I contacted my ISP, it s not their fault. I have re-installed all the drivers needed, re-installed the USB modem, I uninstalled and reinstalled all of my webbrowers.

The USB modem works fine on all other computers. Other USB modems are suffering from the same problem on my laptop, SO the problem is somewhere on my laptop.

Is there a setting some hand what should I change? Port A setting, or something in the registry may be editor? I have to re - install WIndows 7?

I really want to fix myself, before returning to the tech guys, they are VERY expensive, where I stay.

    Your help is appreciated kindly!

UPDATE: the Council following another forum seems to have worked:

Turn off, saving the settings for hubs/USB ports on Device Manager and see if that corrects issues. I had Windows do stupid shit with power settings USB before who would constantly unplug my mouse.

It is often the only to get back on the net to restart and start over.

The modem doesn't seem to be the problem as it works very well with my desktop and the laptop works very well when it is connected through wireless and idea and solution would be greatly appreciated.

There is a user who uses the same modem SpeedTouch 330 USB on laptop with Vista OS.

You will need to install compatible drivers on the site of modem manufacturer.

    Hello Twiggy,

The drivers are provided by the manufacturers of the devices.  If this is the USB modem that is missing a driver, you will need to go to the manufacturer's website to download.

  • error when you try to connect to the internet via a modem usb - 6 error: the handle is invalid

I'm using windows Vista Home Basic and attempts to connect to the internet via a usb Huawei modem.

but with vista I see this error msg

    The handle is invalid

any idea to solve this problem?
    Thank you

You can get in trouble with your device drivers, firmware and/or software.  Go to the Device Manager by going to start / find and type Device Manager and enter and then double-click on the program icon that appears.  Check each device to a red x, yellow! or white?  These identify devices with problems probably (drivers, but also of conflict or something else).  Click on each for more details and troubleshooting tips.  If you need to get the drivers (and you shouldat least make the modem and everything you have time to do - they can help way beyond simply solve this problem), let the computer dealer or the manufacturer of the device (NOT of Microsoft Updates).  In fact, you must disable automatic updates in Windows Update driver as follows: http://www.addictivetips.com/windows-tips/how-to-disable-automatic-driver-installation-in-windows-vista/. Follow these steps to get the drivers: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/ht/driverdlmfgr.htm.  Once you have the drivers, you can install them via the Manager device as follows:http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/193584-device-manager-install-driver.html.

Try to uninstall and then reinstall the modem again.  Remove the modem through Control Panel > phones and Modems, then uninstall the modem in Device Manager. Once the reboot is complete and it is reinstalled it should work (as long as you use the update of the above paragraph).  Make sure that you uninstall in this order.

Are you sure that the modem is compatible with Vista and the rest of your system?  What is the manufacturer, brand and model?  You can find here:http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-vista/.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!
