Momentum settings reset start up since Windows 8.1 upgrade custom

Hello! I have an acer v3-551 - x 489. Touch momentum does not work after updating windows 8.1. I can change the setting without problem and settings work to my specifications... but whenever I turned off my computer, settings restore by default when starting upwards. It's annoying settings my mousepad whenever I start my computer. I noticed there are a lot of problems with it popping up in online forums and I have not yet found a solution. I have not tried to update the drivers because I read that other people have had problems with this. Has anyone found a safe solution for this yet?

Thank you!

Have you installed the new drivers for Windows 8.1 after update?

    Yes, it will still work.

If the Windows 7 Home Premium license you have access to is a retail version update or complete, you can use the product key and the Express upgrade from Windows 7 Starter to Windows 7 Home Premium. First of all, check that the edition of Windows 7, you are upgrading is already enabled (if it isn't, you will encounter complications and that you might start all by performing a clean installation).

Click Start, type Anytime Upgrade, click on the option to enter a key, enter the key of Windows 7 Home Premium, when asked, click Next, wait while checking the key, accept the license agreement, click on upgrade, wait while the software upgrades, (it may take 10 minutes or more depending on the if updates are required) your computer restarts automatically, after the reboot, Windows 7 will notify you updating the computer, the computer will restart once more automatically and will be completed the upgrade, a window will appear notifying the upgrade was successful and your computer is ready to use, click Close, you should be upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium files the stored settings and programs.

  • After changing hardware, started back in windows my sound stopped working

A week ago I tried to install Mac OS X on one of my hard drives added.  I used two different methods.  The first iBoot use and the second using Chameleon.  During this process, I moved my video card since the second PCIe slot to the first and exchanged my typical (8GBX2) 16 GB of ram for a 4 GB stick as it was necessary to make the hackintosh.  Long story short, I did not, and once I gave up my shenanigans and starts up in windows my sound is no longer used.  I checked and it showed that my speakers connected to the back were disconnected.  Plug the headphones into the front also will not work.  I googled everything and have tried convenience store windows, uninstall the driver and re installation, replacing my hardware configuration to the way it was, System Restore, reset of the bios, deactivation and activation of the integrated sound card.  I played with the settings of realtek and despite all efforts, nothing has worked.  The speakers work as I the plugged into my iPhone and played the same music if their fine.  However, the computer will play the sound through my video card to my TV via HDMI

  • "Windows could not update the configuration to start the computer" error during the upgrade of Vista in Windows XP

I have a laptop Dell Inspiron 1505, that is running Windows XP Media Center Sp3. I'm doing a place in upgrading to Vista since the disks to upgrade Dell... Everything's fine until the 'Expansion of the files' [27%], then the installation fails with this message: "Windows could not update the configuration to start the computer. Installation cannot continue. Any changes made to your computer during the upgrade". I did a google search for a fix that involves changing a value in the registry in the HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\ {4D36E976-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} for example change the value to PartMgr Upperfilters. Unfortunately, this value was the default for my registry key changes could be made. Some other fixes involved the renaming of Upperfilter.bak, for Upperfilters unfortunately this .bak value does not exist in my registry.

I tried to boot from the disk of Vista and changing the msconfig for a selective startup but without result.

In addition, the stall even appears at a similar point when you try to upgrade to Windows 7. Is it because of the presence of hidden Media Direct and Dell restore partitions? Compatibility Assistant programs for the two operating systems found nothing significant. Anti virus has been disabled during the installation procedure. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    Hello

Not quite, but pretty close. Media Direct could not lock the boot sector. It must be a BIOS lock or a mechanism of protection provided by your antivirus software.  Given that, I would check your program settings then for all that prevents changes to the boot sector. You may find more easy just uninstall it and reinstall it after the upgrade. Good luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Crazy" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com Windows help - www.rickrogers.org

  • Reset the password of Windows on a NB250

Is there a solution to the following problem?

My children has changed and I forgot the password of windows for our NB250. I have a Bios password which comes first. We need to use this computer for school, so your help is very appreciated. Questions:

I do not have the windows password
There is not an administrator account
We have Windows 7 starter system
I tried pressing zero and hold after you type in the Bios pw - nothing
I don't have a flash drive or another password reset file

    Any ideas?

Stand by. You mean BIOS password and Windows user account.
I guess that the BIOS password is known to you and you can start the laptop correctly, but you cannot log on Windows by using the Windows user account.

    Is this correct?

In case you want to reset the password of Windows I recommend to check this page from Microsoft:

  • Can not register opimize: when I start computer, a window opens opimize the registry failed

When I start computer a window opens opimize the registry failed

    Hi Harry,.

Looks like you have some program registry installed and programmed to run at startup, which does not work.  I suggest we identify and remove the boot and then remove it totally from the system (uninstall).  Registry modification programs are generally risky, rarely do much good, can cause great harm and are not really necessary as Windows does a good job of managing the registry on its own.

Try a boot minimum http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135.  If the problem goes away then it's just a matter of tracking down the culprit at the origin of the problem.   Follow the procedures described in the article.  Once found, remove, delete, disable or uninstall.  Once don't forget to reset your operating system to normal status, as described in the procedures. If the problem occurs in clean mode then just restore the system to normal and reboot - this solution will not work.

Start in safe mode with network and see if the problem is here.  A result allows us to narrow down the search for the cause.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

    1. computer does not start after the Windows XP logo window
2 works well in safe mode, even connect to the external monitor
    3. I reinstalled xp many times, problem stil exist.

    All the answers?

    Hi dhanushm,

    1. What happens after the Windows logo screen?
    2. You receive an error message?
    3. You have security software installed on the computer?
    4. Have you performed an installation clean Windows XP and even after that this problem exists?

    Method 1

As the computer starts up fine in safe mode there is a possibility that some third-party programs installed on the computer is the origin of the problem.

I suggest that you configure the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See section to learn more about how to clean boot.
