Monitor loses signal to start Windows

Windows installed an update on my 32 bit Windows 7 PC around 03:00 on May 16. (Coincidence?)  Later the 16th when using the computer, the screen went black.  The computer that is running again.  After several restarts and repairs still more attempts to my computer refused to restart even in safe mode.  I determined that I had a video card problem so exchanged in one of another office.  Able to restart in safe mode, but no signal to monitor once Windows started.  Determined the graphics cards to be omitted if purchased and installed a new card PNY with processor Nvidia GTX-650 and 1 G of memory.  Starts fine, then loaded from disk PNY GTX drivers and restarted.  Watch the lost signal as soon as Windows has started.  Now I can boot into safe mode without problem, but in normal mode as soon as Windows starts screen loses the signal. Then I swapped the two monitors between computers and the problem remained with the computer.  The problem existed on the PC when using the video card from another machine (GEForce 8400) so it seems that the map is not the problem. I have consulted this PC with another using office to distance and attempt to reinstall the video card, reinstall the drivers from the card using windows drivers and those from the Nvidia site, reinstalled the drivers from the monitor patch, run Mr. Fixit, and other Microsoft repair facilities and searched without any positive result Microsoft Knowledge Base.  always have the BSOD.

I think I found the problem (s).  The original of the graphics card went bad at the same time as an update of Windows.  My computer's power supply was insufficient for the new graphics card I have installed.  Perhaps as a result of the graphics card bad some Windows files were apparently corrupt.
I installed a bigger PSU and reinstalled Windows, then did the updates of Windows gazillion 180 and reinstalled my applications.  Everything seems to be good now.

    Hello

in Vista, if using a Microsoft Vista DVD(NOT a Manufacturers recovery Disk), the "boot" disk repair process, you ask about, it's only a "Startup Repair", not a repair of the operating system installation; population

You must have an operational Vista operating system to do a repair installation of the files using a Microsoft DVD of Vista system

BUT, if the use and start from a manufacturers recovery disk, which guest from the disk is likely to reinstall the OS and lose all your data

  • Office stuck in a loop of starting Windows XP restart after changing the map of memory of RAM DDR

I added that a card of memory DRAM DDR to my CPU ENPower and immediately after my monitor has not received a signal. Then, after reading several articles, I cleaned the CMOS battery, and although he got the monitor works he has also prevented my system to boot with the Windows XP operating system. I've accessed the CMOS utility to change the date/time, nothing helps I still can't get in Windows XP and the user login screen. Now, the system passes through 1 and 2 screens that are part of the commissioning, then lands on the Safe Mode Options screen by which he gets "stuck" not allowing me to select the data options, then it will auto restart every 30 seconds.

    The screen message reads:

"We apologize for the inconvenience, but Windows did not start successfully. A recent hardware or software change might have caused this. If your computer stopped responding, restarted unexpectedly or has been automatically closed down to protect your files or folders, select last good known Configuration to return to the most recent settings that worked. If a previos startup attempt was interrupted due to a power failure or because the power or Reset button was pressed, or if you are not sure what caused the problem, choose Start Windows normally. »

    Start Windows normally

All the these appear on the same screen, but I have no opportunity to select one of them during this mode my pc in.

What should I do? I need to access the BIOS utility to change the settings of the RAM, or is there something else that I forgot who will be able to get my pc to the top and running properly again?

Thanks for your advice in advance!

Remove the memory module that you added.  If the computer can be started without him, then the module is defective or is not compatible with your computer.

  • Loss of signal HDMI in Windows Media Center

I have a Dell Studio Hybrid PCs only running Windows Vista Home Edition Premium attached to a Samsung LN52A750 LCD HDTV via HDMI. If I turn on the TV away from the PC input and back, I lose the video signal... but only when Windows Media Center is running in full screen.

    It works fine:

    1. Turn on the TV.
    2. Switch to PC input on the TV.
    3. Turn on the PC.
    4. Start Windows Media Center.
    5. Turn off the PC.
    6. Turns off the TV (or switch to a different input).

    This also works very well:

    1. Turn on the TV.
    2. Switch to PC input on the TV.
    3. Turn on the PC.
    4. Start Windows Media Center.
    5. Minimize Windows Media Center.
    6. Turn on the TV to a different entry, but leave the PC.
    7. Turn on your TV to the PC - you see always the computer.

    It does NOT work:

    1. Turn on the TV.
    2. Switch to PC input on the TV.
    3. Turn on the PC.
    4. Start Windows Media Center.
    5. Turn on the TV to a different entry, but leave the PC with Windows Media Center in full screen running .
    6. Try to turn on the TV to the PC - no picture or sound is on the screen and the PC must be restarted to return sound/video fully.

I came across this problem recently (after the passage of a VGA/DVI to HDMI connection). First of all, I came across it when the PC would go to sleep - the video signal stops and the TV stop see the PC signal, even once the PC is awake. I have read a bit online and thought it was something people call a problem of 'EDID handshake. " I thought simply not let the computer sleep (and do not turn off the PC video) would fix it, but I ran into another issue. Kind of a twist.

I was showing friends how Media Center worked, I spent in the PC, showed them Windows Media Center, spent in a different entry, then switched back to the PC (because I forgot to show you something). The blue background of Media Center appeared for a split second and the signal was instantly lost. I had to reload completely in order to recover the signal.

I retried the experience - shot to the top of Media Center, active the TV away from the computer, then it passed right away - same result. Restart lost, hard signal.

I don't know how I fell on it, but at some point, I had the experience with a twist. I pulled to the top of the computer, started Media Center and reduced. Then I moved the TV away from the PC and back... and the signal was always there. I did it again, and again, the signal was there. The TV turns off and on again - signal always there. Then I enlarged Media Center, changed television away from the PC, and when I came back... NO SIGNAL.

So: with full-screen Media Center loses the signal, but when Media Center is reduced to a minimum the signal remains.

I started thinking about how my recent use of the Media Center differed from the previous time. Normally, I use the Media Center, watch a movie or something and then go and do something else. I'm back from PC to something else and back. And every time that I had spent in the PC and he had kept the signal, the screen saver has been on - the screen saver 'bubbles '.

Something that I noticed with the screensaver "Bubbles" is that it sometimes brings the Windows taskbar in the foreground so it 'up' to the Windows Media Center full screen appears. I usually turn the television on the PC input before "wake the computer" and to get the screensaver to go.

Now I wonder if the lost signal has something to do with Windows Media Center. I have [I think] know a bit the functioning of Windows and the concept of execution of different 'offices '. I wrote a screensaver in C++ unmanaged long ago and I remember there was some crazy stuff that you have to do when you write an application "windowless" (as Media Center - there is no border around it when it goes full screen) and make the "caches", as the screen saver 'bubbles '. I wonder if he has something to do with the standard Windows Desktop works correctly but the Windows Media Center app full screen "desktop" does not properly.

I tried another experience where I kept full screen WMC, leave the TV losing signal and press Win + D to minimize and show the desktop. Then I went to the TV in the back. No luck - once the signal has been lost, it was lost for good.

I did since then research various responses. I read that defining the ACPI suspend mode S3 would fix it, but it doesn't. I tried implementing a keyboard shortcut attached to a script that could change the display resolution of 640 x 480 and then change back because I read changing the resolution to update the signal - which did not work.

Basically, I got no alternative except to keep WMC reduced when it is not in use.

I'll try to set the screen saver "Bubbles" to 1 minute or something and see if that will at least let me inputs turn on the TV after one minute of inactivity. Yet, it would be good to know if there is some setting I'm missing.

    Hello Travis and Jmelton98,

Thank you for posting.  Your tests of Travis and additional post of Jmelton, it seems it will be probably something that only can be set by the video card drivers.  If you were to look at the known issues for some drivers, you would see similar questions types.  It is one of the reasons for the drivers for video cards are updated so often.  Sometimes there will be a problem so important that they will release a special patch to fix (like what happened during the crisis game is released).  There should be a new series of pilots soon become availible.

Please try and see if the problem persists.  Thank you both for the replies that it will help others too. Zack

  • I mess with the display option (win + p), monitor losing signal, cannot bring him back.

At first, I have a monitor, I tried something and end by pressing win + p and change the mode of display for projector only, losing the signal on my screen and can't put back T_T.

Try win + P several times, it does not work. (A DVI connect to display the map - work).

Then I stop, reboot, no signal is returned.

Then I have connected 2 monitors and signal is back, I can change all fashion perfectly. (1 DVI + 1 D - sub - work)

But, when I remove another monitor signal back to the first step. No signal to monitor. (1 DVI works again - not)

So now I have to connect Monitor 2 (even if I don't use it) and there is signal monitor, if I remove one, I lose everything.

Do you have any idea how to fix this annoying problem?

    Fixed it, by removing the cable, put the cable, remove the other insert this one delete and in about 50 times and windows blend and fix it for me * _ *;

  • Satellie Pro A300 won't boot up - Manager start Windows Errror

My Toshiba Satellie Pro A300 for a few months, but now my machine does not start and gives me the following error each time on a black screen.
    I'm under Visa Business:

    * "Cannot start Windows. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To solve the problem: *.

    * 1. Insert your Windows installation disc, and then restart your computer *.
    * 2. Choose your language settings, and then click "next."

    * File: \Boot\BCD*
    * Status: 0xc000000f *.
"* Info: an error occurred trying to read the boot configuration data."

I have not updated or install anything just before that this error has occurred, and I don't want to use the Toshiba recovery disc that came with my laptop, as it will format the hard drive, which is not what I want to do. I can not even in Mode safe mode or anything like that to try to solve this problem.

Unfortunately I had not round to the creation of the recovery of the DVD in my system itself, think that would allow me to access the recovery console.

The instructions suggest to insert the Windows recovery disc to try to "fix" the error, but it has not provided with my laptop so what should I do?
Is it possible to get one from Toshiba or download?

Any help would be greatly appreciated that this causes me a headache, and I don't want to lose everything already stored.

    Thank you, very much!

    > The instructions suggest to insert the Windows recovery disc to try to "fix" the error, but it has not provided with my laptop so what should I do? Is it possible to get one from Toshiba or download?

The laptop should be equipped with HARD drive recovery option which would mean you could recover the laptop without any disk.
Press F8 during the switching on of the laptop. Then choose fix my computer.
Then choose Toshiba Recovery and launch the installation

Finally, if the computer starts correctly create the recovery DVDs using the preinstalled Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator.

    Brad

What to say Brad. It seems the full Windows XP operating system has crashed!
Believe me, something like what is happening simply and I think that it s nothing unusual to anyone who use and works with Windows OS for a long time.

You should definitely try to reinstall the OS from the Toshiba restore CD.
But this procedure will format your HARD drive and you will lose all files stored on the HARD drive.

But this is only one possibility to get Windows running on this laptop.

    Check it out buddy!

  • My desktop icons are flashing very quickly whenever I start Windows

I used the Scanner Microsoft to scan my computer because my Norton was not picking up anything because I knew that something was wrong (Yes Norton is up to date). The Microsoft Safety Scanner picked up 4 Trojan horses and he said that it had removed the. Usually, icons glitter automactically office if I simply click on the desktop and don't stop until I click on the bar tasks. I clicked on the desktop after that viruses have been filed to see if that was the problem and flicker more. I thought that I had finally fixed my computer until I turned on today and after Windows starts he has started making new flicker. I also tried the system restore, and he said that it was not successful. If it wasn't the virus that was causing it, so what?

P.S. I'm running on Windows Vista SP2 and I'm not sure of the brand or model of my monitor, but I know it's the driver that he has "Dell ST2210 (analog)" and the driver who is the graphics cards is "ATI Radeon HD 4350". My computer is a Dell Studio 540 and it is a desktop computer.

  • Failed to start windows recovery

Compaq cq56-115dx. This is my sencond attempt to try to do a system restore with the HP recovery discs, I just got. Recovery starts with a message "loading files". Then, I get a message "starting windows." And, that's all. Two hours later the windows icon is always on the screen and nothing else happens. I tried several times and each time it hangs on the windows splash screen. For information on the first original attempt to perform the recovery, I was actually quite successful and made it through all three discs. I got a message to restart the computer to complete the installation. When I did the reboot I got an error message that windows cannot restart and I needed to redo the installation. I don't remember the exact wording. I guess I could have gotten a bad file or something and frustrated to lose several hours, I started the second recovery attempt. Now, as mentioned, I'm just hung up on the 'starting windows' screen Before the takeover, the computer was running. Now it won't start, message "windows couldn't start.

I removed the battery and unplugged the computer for about 5 minutes. Tried recovery, and it does not work as it should now. Not sure why it works now, but he did.  I tried at least six times before that, and he continued to cling on the gray screen.
