  What USB connection?  There is no "monitor" for this Dell Monitor USB connection.  The USB connection is a USB hub built into the monitor for other devices.  You must select one of the following values: DP, HDMI or mini-DP.

  I'm sitting on my right now uses a new MacBook Pro computer w/Retina.  It is connected via the Thunderbolt port to a Dell U2715H using the connection of the RFP at the back.  No problem at all.  I used this type of connection for the most recent years (previously an old MacBook Pro, 2011 model).

  I have an old monitor (AOpen f1513) that I connected to my computer Dell (Optiplex sx280). There is no sound from the speakers. I checked the cables and they are all tight, and made sure the volume was enough on the monitor and in my audio devices in the control panel.   You must have a connection to speakers in the monitor connecting the sound card to work. You must have an audio input of your monitor speaker port and must be connected via an audio cable to the sound card on your computer.

  Since you are unable to find the connection, I would say to contact Aopen technical support to check the connection and find the port to connect in the monitor for built-in speakers.

  Go to control panel-> sounds and click the recording tab, then right click of the mouse to view devices disabled or disconnected. Do the same for the reading tab.

  If you are still having problems then go to www.realtek.com for the latest audio driver.

  The Realtek HD Audio Manager in the control panel should show a TAB digital output. But as mentioned above, non-digital speakers using SPDIF output is not going to work.
