  Hi people,

  I can't make a copy of the surface of the glass of the printer. Automatic advance works great, time to take the paper and print a copy. In the past, printing from glass was not a problem. The error message on the printer says "Document Feeder Jam. Reload document, then restart of work. " The problem is that there not be jammed. I raised the lid of the printer and checked the ink cartridges, checked the paper tray and open the access to the rear of the printer.  I have an HP Photosmart Premium Fax all-in-One, model # C410a. All accepted ideas. Right now, I'm ready to start with a hammer.

  I read your message on the message "memory fax" you're noting on your LaserJet M1536dnf and no faxing. I suggest you power reset of the printer and to make sure that the printer has a connection directly to a wall jack, avoiding power bars and surge limiters.

  • Turn on the printer.
    With the printer, unplug the power cord at the back of the unit.
    Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
    Wait at least 15 seconds.
    Plug the power cord into the wall outlet.
    Reconnect the power cord to the back of the unit.
    If the printer does not by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.

  Im trying to set up the fax on 4620 function. Everything works well, but the fax indicates several times that I should use the provided cable - what I've done.

  The implementation of information is far too complex for me and suggest things like reading the manual of your PC and call the operator of telephony which are completely unnecessary.

  I used my phone cable instead of one provided by HP and Hey Presto, it works now - was just a bad cable of HP!

  Yes, you are right. There is a history of JOURNAL of FAX, or transmissions, but there is NO real faxed pages saved or stored on your computer.

• change a specific color fax setting in HP officejet 4620

  Is it possible to set up a HP officejet 4620 fax in black only?  There are too many steps by sending a fax.  It is the first HP all-in-one that asks you if you want to fax in black or color.  I bought this machine to be used in the Office of the Director of our office.  She likes not all choices of fax on.  If we can set the machine to fax in black only without the extra step, it would be a great help.

  There is unfortunately no way to do it from the front panel. This option is built into the firmware of the printer. Looks like you will need to choose 'black' or 'color '.

  The steps will guide you through the process of turning off fax reports.

  1. on the control panel of the printer, select the key icon.
  2. scroll until you see reports, select reports.
  3 fax reports should be number 4.

  Hi keep2,

  Your English is much better than my Italian.  In order to send and receive faxes, you will need to have a cable 2 son connected to a phone jack.  Looks like you have a digital phone line and that can cause problems with faxing at times.

  You will probably need a filter if your Internet provider and phone is the same.  You can probably plug the fax phone delivered with the printer into the phone jack where you have your phone on and send and receive faxes.  The phone can be connected to the Ext port on the printer.

  If you configure printer as explained to you and still have problems, you can run a Test Fax.  On the printer, press the button that has an image of a "key", select Toolsand then select run fax Test.  Everything must go.  Let me know how it goes.  I'll be happy to help you if you are still having problems.

  Sorry, but you will not be able to disable fax on the printer. This is when used. That comes with the printer, I'm sorry.

  Try to implement OfficeJet 4620 wireless laptop running Windows 7.  Wireless set in place works.  When a document is printed, a fax page.  Document never print to the printer.  After you set up the printer name is preceded by FAX.  Have deleted the printer and re-installed several times.  Do not see possibility to do something different.  Any help appreciated.

  @GuyNameDavid, sorry that you experience this problem with setting up a default printer.

  Try uninstalling and reinstalling the software and drivers. Do you still have the CD?

  I took 20 minutes on the phone to find someone to get me to tell them what the problem is.

  When I connect the black cable supplied with (for a single line I think) telephone jack of the cable modem (they provide my dgital phone, internet and Cable only ESA, no data dedicated line because I have to go through a flurry of faxes from time to time at home.)

  This is the problem, no tone came thru.

  so, in this loop, I inserted the small adapter, single-jac + cord short. the output of the 6480.

  I had a tone. It seemed to work so far. So I went to bed, feeling successful, to continue to ensure that I had

  useful with my 6480 fax equipment.

  However the next day it did not get a dial tone on the phone.

  I tried different combinations and then abandoned once more imn frustration.

  I tried to get this thing to work for a few months now.

  Once I had the parts of the loop of any kitchen. someone should sent the fax and the 6480 a o ring...

  I think that the signal gets to the 6480, because I run the test and all passses. There is no test for what I am referrring to and none combined on the 6480.

  Here is the document on the implementation for different kinds of digital lines (think VOIP is not listed) that could work however, the fax modules used in probably all HP AIO are for analogue telephone lines only (the kind of Ma Bell telephone lines that have nothing to do with computers).  So, you could be just out of luck unless you want to pay for another standard analog line in your home for the fax.  Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but makes no sense you need to beat your head in frustration on something that is not likely to ever work.  Oh and another thing - make absolutely sure that the telephone line is connected to the fax to send/receive is the one supplied with the printer, they are not your average phone cords that come with phones or you can pick up at the local super store.

• HP Officejet 4620 wake from sleep

  My HP 4620 multifunction printer standby after 10 minutes and refuses to wake up to an activity, an incoming fax, network or if I press the power button (press short or long). The blue light is on and steady, the power button flashes slowly green, but the only way to get back is to unplug it and plug it in then turn on the power button and back in. It works fine until it goes to sleep and then nothing. Has filed a report with technical support in earlier this week, but no response. Suggestions?

  I'm downloading the update, but I thought I'd give you an update. I moved to another city here in Oklahoma and has opened a new account with AT & T DSL. So he had to buy a new modem. I have the HP had not used for several months and was about to throw it out and buy another brand. But since I got the new modem, I thought I would try it and low and behold, the printer now works as it should! So for me the problem was the modem Wireless AT & T. I probably have the old one put away somewhere again, but the new modem is a model NVG510 18/09/2012. The other modem was about three years old.
