  Yes, there is a list of software compatibility in Vista Compatibility Center at: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-vista/default.aspx.  I checked Adobe Illustrator 9.0 http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-vista/Details.aspx?type=Software&p=Adobe%20Illustrator&v=Adobe&uid=9&pf=0&pi=6&s=Adobe%20Illustrator%209.0&os=32-bit and it does not seem as if it is compatible - it seems as if you need to upgrade.  I'm a little surprised that it works for you - I bet there are a few features that you have not used that do not work properly (and the missing icon in all programs may be a symptom of the problems - maybe it intentionally have not installed there because of problems with compatabaility).  It may also cause you other problems on the road that may not seem like they are related at all - I don't know why it was considered incompatible.  I saw some incompatible software products crash the system to the point that a re-installation was necessary (some Sonic and Roxio products).

  Program files can be included in another folder (such as Adobe Illustrator or almost anything) - but probably something related at least enough that you would recognize.  There is no hidden files in all programs, and they would not be anywhere else.  You can add a link to the program by going to the executable file and creating a shortcut, then cut and paste the shortcut in the list of all programs.  However, I would be careful about using this program, given its situation in the Vista Compatibility Center - you must upgrade to a version that is compatible (and I would take the time to ensure that it was compatible with Windows7 at the same time (in case you decide to upgrade to one in the future).  http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/Default.aspx.

  I did research for a few days and have tried everything suggested is:

  Disabled the firewall in CP and McAfee

  Have the administrator rights on my computer

  tried in IE and Google Chrome, changed by setting "run as Administrator" in Google Chrome

  Tried to download from two different links to Adobe

  Went to my "downloads" folder and changed a few settings

  In downloads, folder, right click on the file 'Creative.exe' and right click and then selected "Run as Administrator" and I get the error code 81

  There is a setting that I can't delete on my computer, which is a 'read only', when I click to it deselect, then click on apply, when I return to the same area, he returns to 'Read Only' - this could be the problem

After a phone call to customer support hours (and I say well HOURS) on the online chat and make sharing screen with Adobe, they always tell me to refer to these forums, so now I write myself out of frustration. Does anyone know how to set the toolbars and other icons in Photoshop CS3?

  It took hours them because they refused to give me any kind of support because I wasn't asking them on a current Adobe product. After talking with 4 different people, that I finally got someone who wanted to tell me just that - CS3 will not just high resolution monitors. Although I did not like the answer, I thanked the last guy to talk to me at least my problem. Just wish someone would could tell me only hours earlier. Anyway, surprise happy ending: the latest update of Windows 10 solved the problem and I'm good to go! The bottom line is not based on the Adobe customer service except if you pay monthly subscription fees to their latest products!

  Here's the thing, if you use a BIOS that is not tested for the OS it is a big risk.  I can't say with certainty that it won't work, but I'm not going to recommend it.  A failed BIOS flash is not reversible!  You will have a good doorstop. In addition, do not use the guides for retail motherboards to determine what will work in HP motherboards.  They have made to their specifications and are not the same as the advice of retail.  Therefore, even if the guide says that the card is compatible with the motherboard, it is not necessarily correct.

  The card you want to use must be inserted in the case and the BIOS of the hybrid is good, but I do not think that your power supply (PSU) will have the 2x75W 6-pin PCI Express power connectors to run it.  Also, it requires a power of 500W.  Your computer is 460W.  This information is in the system requirements section of the link you provided.

  Hi, since update Photoshop CC in December, he started working very very bad... when switching between different tools, it becomes unresponsive for a few seconds (3-5 seconds)... If you press CTRL + ALT + DELETE to bring the the Task Manager to the top and immediately block it Photoshop wakes instantly... otherwise, you have to wait 3-5 seconds to start working again... I thought that it is Windows problem and so I formatted Windows 10 and did a clean install of it... but the problem remains so I guess that's something Photoshop as Adobe CC programs work very well and without any problems...

  I have laptop Lenovo Y50-70 with Intel Core i7 CPU 4710HQ 2.50 GHz, 16 GB RAM, GeForce 860 M with 4 GB of Ram (with of course latest nVidia drivers)... so I guess it's not the worst machine to run Photoshop...

  more funny is that when Photoshop stops, if you quickly hit CTRL + ALT + DEL to bring up the Task Manager and quickly press ESC to return to Photoshop it thaws it and Photoshop again become sensitive...
