Mountain Lion update has affected by scanner

Hello

I've just updated for the Mountain Lion BONES, and now the scanner (HP Deskjet 3070) scans only a quarter of the page. I can't understand how to change it. Help please!

Elaine

Hi Elaine,.
Change the settings for scanning as follows and then search for any changes:
1 open the HP utility and select your device.
2. based on Scan Settings open the "Scan to Computer".
3. click on the tab "scan tasks.
4. Select the shortcut Scan allows to analyze, and then click on edit.
5. in the section of scanning from an HP device click the blue triangle or view details to expand the menu.
6. in the expanded menu now, open the drop down next to cultures in and set as none.
7. click OK and try to scan the image.

Kind regards
Shlomi

    Hello Ian GK,

Go to Services and then DISABLE the Hello Service. Then, restart Windows. Hello to restart Windows Service should not be running, and you should be able to use the Windows Installer Cleanup utility and complete uninstallation.

Now, download the version of iTunes again and see if you can install it and get it working again.

It is an article of Apple dealing with issues after updating to iTunes. May be useful for the resolution of problems for you.

  • HP officjet 7500 has mac osx mountain lion

Three weeks ago, I bought a HP OfficeJet 7500 a AIO printer. I have an iMac and MacBook Pro computer both running Mac OSX Mountain Lion 10.8.4.

I tried to install the printer, connect to my router by Ethernet cable and iMac after a lot of frustration and Wifi the printer has been identified and I printed a document successfully.

The next day, after it off the computer at night, I tried to print without success. I reinstalled the printer and print a document. The same thing happened every day! Then I found this file on HP's Support site: HP_Mountain_Lion_Ink_SW_v12.23.18 and I successfully installed and print a document.

Today, once more, the iMac can't find the printer! I followed the instructions over and over again and as I client I'm frankly NOT interested if it's a problem of HP Apple or Apple HP problem. Mountain Lion OS has been available for years as a printer. It's also a shame that when you buy an HP printer new at Office Depot in Israel that you get an obsolete installation disc!

Surely someone at HP does not have an iMac with Mountain Lion and is ready to take the problem to solve the problem or HP he expects visitors to reinstall the printer every day?

I don't hold my breath that a response from the HP HP. doesn't have its customers when Windows 8 is out with drivers for laptops and it seems that HP is not always interested in the customer service!

    You are welcome Frank,.

Try to access the web page of your router, then go to Advanced > Network Tools and enable IGMP Snooping:

    http://screenshots.PortForward.com/routers/Dlink/DSL-6740U/IGMP.htm

URL of the router is the gateway listed for your printer listed in the summary of the network cable to the printer.

Then restart the router and check if that can help by using the Hello-add print queue, which is of course assuming that everyhing works fine using the queue of Jetdirect-socket

  • After the update to mountain lion, our hp d110 prints well but the scanner hangs every time.

We have recently upgraded mini Mac to our daughter to Mountain Lion and then his D110 prints fine as always, the scanner no longer works. If try to analyse the HP utility on your computer or directly from the printer itself, she receives an error message indicating that the scanner broke down suddenly. This never happened before Mac OS update. She started to software update, which found new software of HP printer, so she downloaded and installed, but the problem persists. Can you please sheds light on this problem? Thank you very much!

If you are using Snow Leopard or Lion and you have the HP software before Snow Leopard (either from a CD that is not marked as compatible with the 10.6/10.7 or you recently upgraded to Snow Leopard or Lion and had the software HP on your Mac before you upgrade - even if you made a standard from the old software uninstaller or installed new software on top of it) , you must uninstall the software by using the "scrubber":

Go to Applications/Hewlett Packard / click Uninstall HP
    Click on continue
Highlight your device in the left pane
    Press and hold Ctrl + Alt + Cmd keys on the keyboard at the same time as you click on uninstall< this="" is="" the="" scrubber="" option,="" there="" is="" no="" button="" labeled="">
There will be a pop up that asks if you are sure you want to uninstall all hp software. (At this point, if you continue, all HP printers you have installed will need to be reinstalled)
Click on continue and let it finish

    Download and install this: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL907

    Restart your Mac.

    Now reset the printing system:

    -Sys Prefs, Print & Fax
-Right (control) click inside the box that lists your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - This will remove ALL your printers!
-Select the sign + to add again. Search for the printer, select it, and wait until the button 'Add' becomes available. Until it clicks.

    Hello billy.

When point to Mountain Lion? When say 'freeze' you mean the kernel panics? You get a multilingual you requiring window on the eve of your Mac? Your EtreCheck report shows 3 kernel panics. They were before or after you updated to Mountain Lion? If your machine has been seen panicking the kernel before, then it might be a hardware problem. If these panics are new since the Mountain Lion, then it is likely an incompatibility with one of your extensions to core 3rd part. She can relate to those who show 'loaded' in your report of EtreCheck, but it could involve other extensions too, depending on what hardware or software is used.

    NOTES:

    (1) it is Beta version 5; newer than all the other versions of this utility I saw reviewed about the feature. You may need a different version because your version of iOS, but I'm not an expert here.

    (2) once installed and the computer restarts, you will find the utility as a new icon in the system preferences (the gear in your dock icon, probably), not applications, utilities, etc.

Things you can do to solve the slow Downs

If your computer seems to run slower, here are some things you can do:

Start in Safe Mode , and then repair your hard disk and permissions:

After that the charges of THE select your entry from hard drive (mfgr. (State SMART is not reported on external drives Firewire or USB). If the drive is "verified", then select your OS X volume in the list on the left (subentries under the entry for the road), click the first aid tab, then click the repair disk button. If THE reports any errors that have been corrected, and then run repair disk again until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported, click repair permissions. If this isn't the case, then a great solution is to download and install a shareware like Macaroni, JAW PseudoAnacronor Anacron utility that will automate the maintenance regardless of whether activity if the computer is off or asleep.  Dependence on third-party utilities to run periodic maintenance scripts has been significantly reduced since Tiger.  These utilities have little or no functionality with Snow Leopard or later version, and must not be installed.

OS X automatically defrags files smaller than 20 MB in size, so unless you have a disk full of very large files it little need to defragment the hard drive.

Under no circumstances should you install operating MacPaw or ZeoBit software (CleanMyMac/CleanMyDrive or Mac Keeper, respectively.) You don't need special software to keep your computer.

"If you have an immediate problem with ads popping up see the Mac without danger" Adware removal Guide and AdwareMedic.

Open Safari, select Preferences from the Safari menu. Click the Extensions icon in the toolbar. Disable all Extensions. If it stops your problem, then re-enable one by one until the problem returns. Now remove this extension as it is the origin of the problem.

The following comes from user stevejobsfan0123. I made minor changes to adapt to this presentation.

Difficulty a few pop ups browser that supported Safari

Common pop - ups include a message saying that the Government has taken over your computer and you pay release (often called "Moneypak"), or a false message saying that your computer has been infected and you need to call a number of tech support (sometimes claiming to be Apple) to get it to be resolved. First of all, understand that these pop-ups are not caused by a virus and that your computer has not been assigned. This "hack" is limited to your web browser. Also understand that these messages are scams, so don't pay not money, call number, or provide personal information. This article will give an overview of the solution to remove the pop-up window.

    Quit Safari

Usually, these pop-ups will not go by clicking 'OK' or 'Cancel '. In addition, several menus in the menu bar may become disabled and show in grey, including the option to leave Safari. You'll probably force quit Safari. To do this, press command + option + ESC, select Safari, press on force quit.

    Relaunch Safari

If you restart Safari, the page will reopen. To avoid this, hold the "Shift" key when opening Safari. This will prevent windows since the last time that Safari was running since the reopening.

It will not work in all cases. The SHIFT key must be maintained at the right time, and in some cases, even if done correctly, the window is displayed again. In these circumstances, after force quit Safari, turn off Wi - Fi or disconnect Ethernet, depending on how you connect to the Internet. Then restart Safari normally. He'll try to reload the malicious Web page, but without a connection, it will not be able to. Leave this page by entering a different URL, i.e. www.apple.com and try to load it. Now you can reconnect to the Internet and the page that you entered is displayed rather than the malicious.

An excellent link to read is Tom Reed Mac Guide of malicious programs.

Also, visit the FAQ XLab and read of detection and avoid malicious software and spyware.

If you need antivirus protection Thomas Reed recommends to use ClamXAV. (Thanks to Thomas Reed to this recommendation.)

The user Joe Bailey comes this equally useful advice:

    The facts are:

    1. There is no anti-malware software can detect 100% of malware out there.

    2. There is no anti-malware that can detect all targeting the Mac.

    3. the best way to prevent breaches the most is for you as the user is aware that

the most successful malware attacks rely on sophisticated social engineering

techniques preying on human greed, * and fear.

4 Internet pop-up windows telling the FBI, NSA, Microsoft, your ISP has detected malware on

your computer is designed to trick you into installing their malware thinking it's a

    protection against malware.

    5. some of the anti-malware market products are worse than malware

go where they are supposed to protect you.

    6. be careful where you go on the internet.

    7. don't download anything from sites, you know are safe.

8 avoid links that you receive in email, always be wary, even if you get something

you think a friend is, but that you did not expect.

    9. If there is any question in your mind, then assume that it is malware.

    Troubleshooting Applications

I recommend that you download a utility such as TinkerTool System, OnyX, Mavericks Cache Cleaneror hiding a Cocktail that you can use to delete the former newspapers and archives, cleaning, etc. Corrupted cache, logs or temporary files can slow down the application or OS X crashes and panics of the kernel.

If you have leopard snow or leopard, then for similar repairs install Applejackfreeware utility.  If you do not start in OS X, you can boot into single-user mode , where you can run Applejack to make a set of routines for repair and maintenance of the command line.  Note that it takes 1.5 AppleJack for Leopard. AppleJack 1.6 is compatible with Snow Leopard. Applejack does not work with Lion and later versions.

    Basic backup

For some people, Time Machine will be more than enough. Time Machine is part of Mac OS X. There are two components:

    1. a panel of Time Machine preferences as part of the system of preferences;

    2. a request for Time Machine, located in the Applications folder. It's

used to manage backups and restore backups. Time Machine

requires a backup drive that is at least twice the capacity of the

    drive being backed up.

You can also get an external drive at least equal to the size hard disk internal and make (and maintain) a bootable clone/backup. You can make a bootable clone using the disk utility's restore option. You can also create and maintain clones with good backup software. My personal recommendations are (the order is not significant):

    1 Carbon Copy clone

    2. get backup

    3 already seen

    4 superDuper!

    5. Synk Pro

    6. Tri-Backup

Visit The FAQ XLab and read the FAQ on the backup and restore.  Also read How to back up and restore your files. For using Time Machine, visit FAQ Time Machine of Pondini for help with all this time Machine.

Referenced software can be found at MacUpdate .

    Additional tips

Make sure you have a sufficient amount of RAM installed for the number of applications you run simultaneously. Make sure to leave a minimum of 10% of the capacity of the hard disk as free space.

Add more RAM. If your computer less than 2 GB of RAM and you use OS X Leopard or later, then you can do it with more RAM. Snow Leopard and Lion works much better with 4 GB of RAM that is their system. Most concurrent applications, that you tend to use the more RAM you should have.

Always have at least 15 GB, or 10% of the capacity of your hard disk as free space, the largest. OS X frequently accesses your hard disk, so offering enough free space will keep things slow down.

Check for applications that may be hogging the CPU:

    Before Mavericks

Open the activity monitor in the Utilities folder.  Select all processes in the drop process .  Click the % CPU column heading twice to display in descending order.  If find you a process that uses a large amount of time processor (> = 70,) then select the process, and then click the quit icon in the toolbar.  Click the force quit button to kill the process.  See if that helps.  Don't forget to mention the name of the runaway process, so you can find the cause of the problem.

    Mavericks and later versions

Open the activity monitor in the Utilities folder.  Select all processes in the menu display .  Click the CPU tab in the toolbar.

This problem occurs often because of a corrupted cache or the preferences file or an attempt to write in a corrupted log file.

  • Update OS on my PowerMac of Cougar in the next update after the mountain lion. No El Capitan

I'm looking to upgrade my Mac power Cougar 10.7.5 to the very next update OS after the mountain lion. I'll be able to update my PowerMac. It has been sitting on a year or some time so I used my mac pro, which is currently being updated to El Capitan. Ive updated to El capitan on my macbook pro since my programs I use don't work well. In the meantime, while I wait for my programs that I use to get to updates that are supported with El Capitan I use my PowerMac. In any case I'm looking to update the OS on my PowerMac.

  • Merger of Causes Kernel Panic after updating to Mac OS Mountain Lion 10.8.2

I've just updated to Mac OS 10.8.2 Mountain Lion (from 10.8.1 precedent) and suddenly my Macbook Air (2011) crashes whenever I run Fusion. I had Fusion 4.1.3. I also tried to install Fusion 5 but seems to have the same problem.

The application should start and I see VMWare Fusion in the menu bar (but not yet windows), in a few seconds the machine would crash and I get the grey screen "to the death".

After you reboot the machine, here's the log of kernel panic:

I had a very similar problem after updating to 10.8.2. What worked for me was starting up in recovery of OS X and under my boot repair disk volume. There are a number of scheduled file system errors. After the reboot, VMWare works again and the system has been stable for the last half hour or so.

  • Updated to mountain lion VMWare Fusion3 does not

OK, before anyone says that stupid, it was to be upgraded without checking compatibility please Don ' t bother. On the other hand, never knew a piece of software that does not allow you to upgrade even if such.

Then spend useless wisdom, I'm stuck and would appreciate some advice.

I upgraded to mountain lion, thinking that I can spend my VM directly afterwards. To my surprise, the VM Fusion icon has a no entry he sign with no option to upgrade. I need three of my virtual machines back to life, running VMware Fusion 3.1.

I made a backup using my time machine, I don't like if I have to revert to my version of snow leopard OS just to the virtual machine working again or purchase an upgrade to Fusion 5. I don't know if one can bring back those VM.

Please help, all my work is in those virtual machines.

    Thank you.

    > I have 3 VM created in Fusion 3.1, Ive upgraded my MAC to mountain lion (10.8.1), the upgrade of vmware will allow me to access my vm?

The answer is Yes, but make sure you stop the virtual machine properly. (Do not force stop) As woody said, you can back up the virtual machine and give it a try on the trail of 30 days.

    > I updated to Fusion 5 because that's the only option I see available or what I need to improve some how to 4.1.3?

Upgrade to Fusion 5 is preferred. With 49.99 to Profression 5 Fusion Fusion 3 standard is a good deal. If you switch to Fusion 4, you pay once to upgrade in the future. Why not use the latest version of the software directly with the same amount of money?

  • AE CS6 updater crashing into the Mountain Lion

    Hello

Have used CS6 AE 11.0.2.11 on Mountain Lion.

Yesterday, I received a message telling me that an update was available, but when trying to install message was that she had not and that I should try again later.

So I tried it again today and it has gotten insofar as a message telling me to close "Daemon crash Adobe" - which of course I can't find to close.

So finally had to force quit the installer.

I am able to continue to use 11.0.2.11, but I feel uncomfortable with these unresolved issues.

Can someone get any light please?

    Thank you very much

Restart your computer to make sure that all processes as the demon of the accident have stopped smoking. Don't start any application other than Adobe Bridge. In Adobe Bridge, choose Help > updates.

You can also use the installation program manually, as Szalam mentioned. Follow the links here:

  • Updated to mountain lion and now, I have continual errors in PS!

I have the latest version of photoshop CC. As the update to 10.8.5 Lion PS CC mountain lion does not work correctly. Many of the tools I give 'cannot use the tool due to the program error. " It's useless! I installed the latest version of photoshop CC. It worked fine before. I can't use the pipette, but the clone tool is very good. The painting tools are very good. Several other tools give this error. I do not see why some work and some do not.

I have worked very well in Leo, so there is no reason it shouldn't work in mountain lion. It's so frustrating because it means I can't use the software I paid for. I updated via the adobe Update Manager as the CC Office system does not work

What is causing this error message?

Everything is identical to what existed before imac 2011 - late with loads of memory and a wacom bamboo with an ancient Tablet graphire Tablet driver. No hardware has changed so there must be a software error any. The driver of the Tablet is the most recent works with the Tablet I and who works with the mountain lion. I can't change the version of this.

Reset of all tools seems to have stopped the errors at the moment, thank you. I have no idea how they can get so screwed up however. I have not installed so you need a hiccup of photoshop plugins database.

  • Can software update on iphone cause problems when my computer can only move to Mountain Lion?

Can software update on iphone cause problems when my computer can only move to Mountain Lion?

When my computer can only be upgraded to Mountain Lion?

Any Mac that can run Mountain Lion can run El Capitan, as long as the conditions are identical.

Too little information: you must identify the model of your iPhone and explain exactly your problems. There is no way that anyone would be able to help otherwise.
