Mouse acceleration

First Windows 7 is awesome the best OS out of the period of Ms. However, there is 1 thing that is annoying to hardcore gamers, the issue of the dreaded mouse acceleration.

With Win XP you could easily edit a certain reg entry and it was perfect, but that is impossible [so im told] in win 7.

Please help the millions of players with this issue and release a patch.

Thank you very much

Hydroz0rz

Weird, I did hear someone complaining about this and I don't know how many online games I was with people on 7. Million? I don't think a lot of people is infested by this problem. You do not like it does or does not accelerate (it's the same for me XP is by default - I never had to change the sensitivity or acceleration in both)? If you need to have a lot more control, you can just get a third mouse utility out until they offer the possibility to play with the acceleration. Mouse Logitech usually come with the features of acceleration and speed of mouse that you can play with. I'll go out on a limb and say that all least, most hardcore gamers have more than a HP, Dell or Microsoft basic mouse.

Shoot, even the Intellipoint software may have what you are looking for. Good luck!

  • How does windows determine when "disable acceleration in games" for control of the mouse?

I have been using a program called Evernote.  I was faced with a problem with the mouse while using this program on several computers.  The problem is that the window of Evernote is active the mouse acceleration seems to stop working.  When I uncheck the box that says "disable acceleration in games" and then the mouse works normally with the acceleration settings that I chose.  It is as if Windows recognizes Evernote as a game and it is to disable acceleration as it is supposed to do... EverNote is not a game.

The mouse that I use is a Logitech MX 500 and a MX510 and both use the Logitech mouseware... not the setpoint drivers.  Others with the setpoint drivers have noticed the same problem.

My belief is that windows is disabling acceleration because I have the box ticked to turn off in games and for some reason any he applies this setting in Evernote.  I want to use acceleration outside the games then unchecking the box is NOT an option.  What determines when the parameter to "disable acceleration in games" is applied to the control of the mouse?

It is a Windows problem, a Logitech problem or a problem of Evernote.  These more to Evernote sees no problem at their end, assuming that is correct that leaves Windows and Logitech.

Once again, where to find?  What determines when the parameter to "disable acceleration in games" is applied to the control of the mouse?

I have a post on the forum of Evernote, which is here:

    http://discussion.EverNote.com/topic/16513-Logitech-mouse-slows-down-with-active-EverNote-window/

    Hello

You can uninstall the Logitech mouse software and let Windows install the drivers for the device and check if the problem still persists.

To uninstall the Logitech software, you can see the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

    I hope this helps.

  • The mouse settings are reset if restart windows on Tecra

For two weeks now, I have my tecra "nine". I'm an advanced windows user, so the first thing I, was setting display of the records and other things like the mouse settings. Here is a problem:

When I change the speed of the mouse in the usual windows Setup window and I start my computer the next time, then the settings are canceled again.

I am shure that this has something to do with toshiba / alp extended mouse settings tool. With this tool, you can define the speed of the mouse, but I'm already on the ceiling it and I also want to use the increased windows mouse acceleration. Also, this box is checked, whenever I start windows again.

I already uninstalled easy Launcher from toshiba, but nothing has changed. So, I'm shure that it has something to do with the alp extended for the touch pad driver. Someone know any solution for this problem or will it soon be a driver available (debugged) updated?

    Luck & peace 4 all!
    Nathan

    And what model Tecra?

  • 64-bit Windows 7 mouse freezes / stuttering several times per minute

Found this post online by Googling my problem...

I recently bought a beautiful Alienware gaming platform, running on Windows 7 64 bit. Also, I experienced problems with my mouse, as a first step, I took no notice, but after a few months, start/stop stuttering hiccupping became very annoying. In fact, never 5 to 10 minutes, my cursor will freeze for about half a second, 2 to 3 times in a row. This becomes especially noticeable when playing first person shooter.

At first I thought it might be a problem with the mouse acceleration, so I've done everything I can to solve the problem. I use RAT 7 of the Mad Catz Cyborg, so I downloaded the software and drivers more recent and even ran an application published by Mad Catz which clears the mouse acceleration, but still the problem persisted.

I tried everything...  I did all the updates of Windows at this point, my mouse/graphics card drivers are updated to the latest, I ran several scans for spyware, adware, viruses, registry, I tried 2 different mouse... and I always get these random hiccups freezes while browsing or playing games. I ran the DPC latency checker and there is clearly something affecting it (whenever there is a hiccup, the bar fly upward into the red zone), but I can't pinpoint the problem at all (went in the Device Manager, off and on almost every program, no change).

It's a shame, but this problem with the mouse, it rolls. Anyone have any useful suggestions?

    Come on Microsoft, he meets!

    Hurez,

Have you tried this mouse on another system? Also, have you tried the mouse in safe mode?

  • Windows 7 64-bit mouse pauses/freezes/stutters often accompanied by an event sound Windows

    Symptoms:

Erratic mouse behavior. Mouse hanging, the gel for a full second or more, accompanied by a Windows event sound, generally. Sometimes, there is just a slight pause and no noise Windows event. Sometimes the mouse acceleration changes after freezing. Sometimes, more rarely, my mouse will be dropped by the operating system... the laser light on the underside turns off and I have to unplug the mouse and plug it in again so he can be recognized.

What happens almost all the time. I want to use Windows mainly to play a game, World War II online: Battleground Europe. It is a shooting mmo first-person. This problem is annoying enough on the desktop. Unsuable for FPS games. I plan to have to file using Windows 7 64 bit for now.

I have this problem as soon as Windows 7 64-bit.

The problem with Windows 7 64 bit after trying many many solutions/solutions offered on the Internet.

I did not need to determine what event could be linked to it in the event Log Viewer, or if it is even an event that is be connected here.

NOTE: My mouse (G3) Logitech MX518 Gaming tips works fine, without any problems whatsoever, under Windows XP Professional SP3 32-bit with all latest updates or on Ubuntu 10.4 (Lucid Lynx) 64-bit. I never had no problem with this mouse at any time under these operating systems. These operating systems will run an intensive game if I want to, throughout the day.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------

Steps in my last attempt to solve the problem.

I was looking not all parameters of the BIOS at once at the beginning. For example, I have disabled "Intel Speedstep" to see if that would solve the question. Then restarted in BIOS and disabled the C1E function when I discovered that disabling Speedstep alone does not resolve the issue. ECT, ect...

I have not installed Norton Internet Security 2010 for awhile while I tried various solutions of Workaround available and listed below in case this is the question. No difference, so NIS 2010 is now installed.

Remember, that this behavior occurs that when Windows 7 64 bit is installed properly.

    (1) clean install of Windows 7 64-bit, for the third time now

    (2) installed the Runtime Visual C++ 2008 64 bit v9.0.30729.4148 than kb973552/KB969706 downloaded from--> http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=2051a0c1-c9b5-4b0a-a8f5-770a549fd78c

    (a) just in case Rebooted and then install the same version of the Visual C++ 2008 for 32-bit environment Runtime in Windows 7 64 bit

    (3) installed Windows 7 64 - bit drivers

    (a) Marvell Yukon 88E8056 Gigabit Ethernet on-board NIC Driver v11.24.5.3 (15/02/2010)

    (b) various software of Creative Labs creative Labs X - Fi Titanium 64-bit driver v2.17.0007 and all updates for them.

    (c) Software Driver of Intel Chipset v9.1.1.1025 (22/12/2009). Seems to just install an update from the hard disk of 64-bit driver.

    (d) ATI Catalyst 10.3 Driver

    (4) installed Windows updates

NOTE: I have not installed the latest four updates for now, three of them are security updates have a publication Date: 09/02/2010. I decided to not install these due to a mistake of "Circular kernel context logger" that I already saw in the viewer of the event log, recorded by "Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-EventTracing" event ID: 2 now, I'm not having this issue.

NOTE: I also installed a driver in option, the ACPI ATK110 driver, which installs the following file--> C:\Windows\System32\drivers\ASACPI.sys - he has listed as the version of the file 1043.2.15.37 and dated 29/03/2005. In a previous installation of Windows 7 64 bit, I downloaded an update of the present of Asus contained in a file/AMDCoolnQuiet_Utility_V21801_XPVistaWin7.zip utility and installed. I started the utility and he gave me the message that my system was not supported by "Asus Cool ' n Quiet. It's ASACPI.sys file was dated some time in 2009, rather than in 2005. Since my last Windows 7 install, I have currently a bit the 2005 version proposed by Windows Update installed. I don't know if this file is to load or used by Windows 7 64 bit. But I wonder...

    Is this a problem?

    (5) installed software v6.00.68 Logitech Setpoint (Version 4.90.80 driver) for Windows 7 64-bit

NOTE: I have not installed this in previous installations of 64-bit Windows 7 and had hoped that this would cure the problem. No change, the problem still persists.

    (6) went into the BIOS and reset to the default settings

    (7) BIOS: Set A.I. OC (overlcock) to "Manual" and left to deafult values so that the CPU isn't overclocked automatically or manually sort

    (8) BIOS: Establish timimgs settings memory, memory voltage and the voltage Northbridge, according to my memory (memory Mushkin) manufacturer's recommendations

NOTE: Again, I didn't have never had any problem at all in Windows XP Pro 32 bit SP3 or Ubuntu 10.4 64 bit with these settings. These operating systems will run an intensive game if I want to, throughout the day.

    (9) BIOS: The value of Intel Speedstep "Disabled".

    (10) BIOS: C1E (Enhanced Halt State) value to "disabled".

    (11) BIOS: Set the Mode of the ACPI Power / Suspend 'S3' only '

    (12) BIOS: Set ACPI 2.0 Support to 'Active '.

NOTE: On, off, on any settings/functions above not has not solved the problem. I have I have not tried all the single 'combination', but in any case, make no change with the mouse.

    (13) in Windows 7, I selected the Option to 'High Performance' and the value "USB selective suspend setting" to "Disabled" with updated BIOS options as shown in steps 9 to 12 above

NOTE: With BIOS defined that way there is no setting "Processor Power Management" in the Options of food, other than the 'political cooling system' (active/passive).

I left this game to 'Active '.

    Is this a problem?

    (14) tried monitoring DPC latency with the download link for the "DPC latency Checker" utility No visible ears in the utility during the mouse freezes / breaks

    Hello again,

Can I have found the solution that worked for me. It is probably too early to tell, I'll need more time to be sure. But in case he solved the problem for me, I'll post what seems to have worked as suggested on a post, I came across from another forum. Consider a guy who tried many suggestions, maybe that's the answer. Heck, I had tried a few other things that I have said in my original post. But in any case, so far, my system and mouse seem to work very well on the desktop for the last hour and a half. I have not tried yet game.

    (1) uninstall the Windows Update KB977074 (January 2010 stability and reliability update for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2).

    (2) reboot and leave your system for a couple / few minutes after the restart.

    (3) just in case... Restart again, and then reinstall the KB977074.

    (4) restart to complete the installation.

  • iMac (27 inch, 5 retina k, end of 2015) startup problem

    I am currently using late 2015 5 k retina 27-inch iMac.

My iMac doesn't always dΘmarre as expected. There will be a start-up chime, but the screen just remains completely black. It takes sometimes more than 5 minutes to start magically after freezing to the black screen. And when I managed to connect, my mouse (USB) could freeze a few times. I downloaded Smoothmouse to kill the mouse acceleration.

I tried to reset the SMC and the NVRAM, however it does not seem to solve the problem. I have faced this same problem after exchanging the 3 sets of iMac.

Wondering if a defective mouse could be the cause of this problem? Or could it be the Smoothmouse. However, I still don't think that an iMac could be so vulnerable.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

    Sorry for my bad English
    Tank you?

What mouse do you use? Is there software that you can the mouse
create profiles of mouse speed in?
The mouse works well with other games?
If you are wanting to play CS with an old MS Intelli mouse like the pros
You should visit the forums dedicated to CS for more details.

"It's work, but still relatively smooth.
I'm not really sure what you mean. I guess that your cursor movement
is too fast. It's the first time I saw the orders that you show, but--

-noforcemaccel - this should clear the acceleration mouse but apparently - noforcemspd - makes the game go back to the desktop mouse speed.
So, if you use the acceleration mouse with your configuration of office mouse the
second command can substitute for the first.
Similarly, if your desktop mouse speed is higher than what you want the
game it can substitute at the speed that you set in the game.
The use of commands like this requires a little experimentation. Perhaps using
noforcemaccel after noforcemspd may work better.

Mouse acceleration is good when in Windows but not
so good when playing first person shooter because the movement of the cursor
It accelerates when you move the mouse quickly.

If you do not use an old MS Intelli mouse or other mouse without contouring
software, and like us, players not pro, use a mouse with buttons that can
Select the different speeds while playing and has a program with parameters that can
substitute the Windows settings, then you should be able to make a profile when you play CS has no enabled mouse acceleration.
The mouse software then automatically to this profile when you launch CS.
For example, I have a profile for Battlefield Bad Co with three different speed settings that I can change during the game. One is very slow (like the pros) for a specific purpose, the second is a little more quickly to run
but still slow enough to be precise, and the third is very fast, so I can turn the turret tank quickly when you're driving a tank. Also, the mouse acceleration is disabled,
but my normative office has enabled mouse acceleration.

If when you say 'little smooth' you mean that it is too slow or lagging while there may be another problem. You might have a speck of dust on the lens on the bottom of the mouse. Tasks of dirt on your mouse pad can also cause shift when the mouse passes over them.
Software conflicts can cause lag as well.  Sometimes the lag can be cause of too
higher settings of Anti-aliasing in a game, but that is questionable in you situation that the
GTX680 should have no problem at all with the settings CS running up.

  • Speed of the mouse in the Sierra

Since installing beta Sierra (5) and now the GM, scrolling of the magic mouse and trackpad are accelerated to an unusable level on some applications.

I noticed with VLC (volume control) and Minecraft (Browse items).

I've adjusted down to the lowest speed in the "Accessibility" section in system preferences.

I don't really use other applications is unusual as he posed questions with two independent applications. It doesn't seem to be a problem in the MacOS (i.e. scrolling in Safari is very good as it's Chrome - but they are windows that may be different.)

    Do others see this problem?

It is a question of MacOS or something that the developers of applications need to solve?

  • Thunderbird installed 38 & now the PC freezes. No response from mouse & KB. What should do? How knowledge is there a w/o e-mail response?

    As explained in the summary...

Version of Thunderbird installed 38 last night. This morning I have urgent questions on the email.

I open Thunderbird and before it finishes downloading the mails from the server, and sometimes even before the end of the authentication password for the accounts, if freezes. I restarted three times with zero improvement. Mouse and KB are both unresponsive while the LED mouse works when the mouse moves and indicators CAPS etc meet key activities respective, so devices are working on their own, but Mozilla Thunderbird blocks the communication between them and the PC.

Now, I don't have access to email and no way to know when there is an answer to this! Nice!

What exactly is necessary to make Thunderbird work? And how can I find out about it without any email?

I use Windows 7 on a PC. I use Firefox and Open Office, no other product from Ms.

Works for me in Firefox 38.

    The Firefox window is maximized?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

    • Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance
    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe
  • Except if it is started in safe mode, Firefox is very slow; keyboard, mouse, etc.

When you start Firefox normally the keyboard and mouse input is very slow. The videos are restless with her interruption. Scrolling is almost impossible. When you start in safe mode, Firefox works fine. Internet Explorer works well as Thunderbird. Have

Hello Paulkh, please disable graphics hardware acceleration.

You will have to perhaps restart Firefox for it to take effect, so save any work first (e.g. you compose mail, documents online that you are editing, etc.).

    Then perform the following steps:

    1. Open the Firefox Options tab as follows, click on the menu button

      and select ' Options.

    2. In the Options of Firefox tab, click the Advanced tab, and then select general.
    3. You will find in the list of parameters, the checkbox use hardware acceleration when available . Uncheck this box.
    4. Now restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.

This solve your problems? Please report to us!

  • Scroll with mouse wheel requires several "ticks" to start scrolling

I recently got a new mouse, and now when you use firefox the scroll wheel doesn't work properly. Everywhere else, I can do simple ticks of scrolling to scroll the content, but in firefox a graduation scroll is simply ignored as are several ticks if a little slow. In order to get firefox to actually scroll with the mouse wheel, I quickly make a few ticks at the same time. This makes for very imprecise control.

I tried to turn off smooth scrolling, hardware acceleration and pixel scrolling, but none of these permits. Any help for firefox to stop ignoring ticks of slow and unique scrolling would be greatly appreciated.

Well, after some searching around, I found that reported on a different logitech mouse and it ends up being the setpoint for firefox extension. I turned that off and scroll began to work properly in firefox.

I'm just judging from the symptoms it could be adware/malware associates. This is because many users with the same problem has pointed out that it was the case before:

also even if you have an existing security solution I would recommend a scan with malwarebytes & adwcleaner, from suppliers such as mcafee are often not good for detect adware minor and potentially unwanted programs that could not be considered a virus. They are tools of good reputation and get also recommended in the article knowledge base of mozilla on removing malware: troubleshoot Firefox problems caused by malicious software

  • The screen freezes when the mouse does not move

Hi, I have always used Mozilla Firefox and loved it, but in recent weeks it drives me crazy. Whenever I load a Web page and I move the mouse it freezes just until I move the mouse again. If I load the page even off the coast of internet Explorer it loads immediately without moving or touching anything. I'm on the current version of 34.0 beta version update channel. I tried to use an earlier version and the same problem is there. I really want to use Firefox, but it is at the stage I want to if I have to be sitting at the computer by moving the mouse to load each page that I need. Can someone help me please.

Make a check of malware with several malware scanning of programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs, because each program detects a different malicious program.
All of these programs have free versions.

Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before scanning.

Alternatively, you can write a check for an infection rootkit TDSSKiller.
