Mouse (and mouse) do not work.

The mouse does not work.  Have tried the USB and PS2 Mouse.   Pointer does not move.

Hi Reid Killen,

·        Since when are you facing this problem?

·        Did you change to your system recently like installing software or an update of windows?

·        What is the brand and model of the mouse you are using?

You can also try to control the mouse you use in another system and see if the problem still occurs.

Method 1: Restore the system

If the problem occurred after a recent change in the system, you can try the system restore.

To perform the restoration of the system follow the steps described in the article below:

In Windows Vista system restore

I hope this helps. Please let us know to get help.

S rally strange because I put t see a link between the firmware CD/DVD, UpperFilters and LowerFilters and the keyboard and mouse.

This is first time that a removal of the upper and lower filters would undermine the functionality of keyboard and mouse. Which is really strange.

Anyway, you are able to access the BIOS? If this isn't the case, then this is not good.

First of all, you should try to save the data stored on the HARD disk in this case, I recommend to remove the laptop HARD drive and connect it using a USB HDD on another controller.
This would allow you to save the data to another HARD disk.

Put the removed HARD disk in Notepad, and then try to reinstall the OS from the Toshiba restore CD.
I hope that this will be possible because I don't see another way to get the operating system again.

    Good luck by a friend

My point of 5000 MS wireless laser mouse does not work, but work wheel Magnifier button and scroll.  What could cause this problem?  I there something wrong with the mouse or something should be cleaned?  This is the first question I had after 3 years of use.

I have not any hardware or software changes, and the problem is constant, not specific to any application.

I restored my system to my latest backup when the mouse was working, but it has not solved the problem.  The software update has not solved the problem.

I installed a different mouse, which works very well. The wireless mouse does not work on another system, I assume that it's broken and I will replace it.

  • Mouse and keyboard does not work after sleeping on a laptop

After awakening from a sleep of my laptop, my keyboard and mouse went crazy, pushing buttons at random on the screen, beep and completely freeze then both. I restarted my computer and got to the login screen which I was able to type in, then he connected and the keyboard and mouse do not work. I plugged in a USB mouse and the mouse that works very well. After some playing around, I got the keyboard works by accessing the control panel and change the speed at which the keys type and for some reason, this fixes the keyboard. However, I am still unable to get the mouse works.

So three questions, 1 - what happened in the first place? 2 - why my keyboard was working to connect, but not once it really connected? 3. How can I get my mouse back?

  • Clicks of the mouse do not work in IE9, Excel, iTunes and other programs.

Clicks of the mouse are not working.  IE9, Excel, I-tunes and a few other programs.  It sometimes takes several mouse clicks, or in the case of IE9 when you activate the address bar or Favorites or even try to select a checkbox it seems that you must hold the button of the mouse down and after a few seconds, it will recognize the command.  With favorite IE9 you must hold down the mouse button and drag down to the place wherever you need to be communicated, then click on?  In Exel, the mouse cannot select multiple cells, in other programs her taking mulitple mouse clicks to highlight & copy text in the text example I've copied below from Microsoft answer Forum - I followed the instructions below and it did find and fix some problems, but there were others, he could not correct?  They were listed in another file, but I don't remember the name of the file, or how to access it?  I have run Norton 360 on my system and a complete analysis will detect all viruses?  Please advise?

Thank you for using the Microsoft Answers forums. I suggest that you run the System File Checker. To use the tool (SFC.exe) System File Checker. To do this, follow these steps:

Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click programs, accessories principally made, right-click Guest, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on allow.

Type the following command and press ENTER:

Get your updated antivirus program and boot into Safe Mode. Note that some viruses can hide from your normal antivirus program, so you really need to scan in Safe Mode. To enter in Safe Mode when you turn on first, press F8 on every seconds until you get the menu, and then select Safe Mode. Then run a complete system scan.

If that suits him fine. If this is not the case, use system restore to go back to an earlier date at the beginning of the problem. To run system restore, click Start-> programs-> Accessories-> System Tools-> system restore. Click on the box that says show more restore points.

Finally if all else fails, you can look at the rather cryptic system event log. To do that click on start-> Control Panel-> administration-> event viewer tools. Once in Event Viewer system log-click and scroll entries looking for these "error" with indicator see if you can find guidance on where the problem may be.

    `

When you get your system in good working condition, I invite you to back up your system up to an external hard drive and make it regular periodic updates.

    Hello

You have the same problems with a mouse external or just the touchpad?

If an external mouse works correctly, you can use it to do a recovery install. This can help you to solve the problem, if this just s software.

Not least have last but you tried to update the driver for the touchpad? You can find it on the official website of Toshiba:

    dhruvil28

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

Sorry, but if your talk to get the mouse drivers from HP, what's not at work, such as HP does not include drivers for the hardware not HP.

Have you tried to download the drivers from the manufacturer of the mouse?

You must go to the settings, update & Security-> Windows Update.

Then, choose Advanced-> history to see when the updates have been applied last. If you see one that include device drivers, who might be the problem. So, if you can, you should see if you can restore the drivers that are causing the problem. Do so you by going into Device Manager, see if the device is still listed and so, trying to restore the last driver update.

And if this resolves the problem, then disable future driver updates by using the information in the link: http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/48277-driver-updates-windows-update-enable-disable-windows-10-a.html

If the appropriate device adapter is no longer present in the Device Manager, what MIGHT work is something known as a repair installation. It is less destructive of all Windows recovery features and rewrites the Windows system files, leaving your apps, settings and data intact.

To do this, you will need to use the link to the installation media to download Win10 and burn a DVD or create a USB key: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/media-creation-tool-install?ocid=ms_wol_win10

Once you have, follow the instructions in the link: http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/16397-repair-install-windows-10-place-upgrade.html

    Good luck

    Hello Daniele

It's really strange that the touchpad does not work even if you have installed the right driver and installed the operating system again. At the first moment, we can say there is probably a hardware problem, but please be sure touchpad is listed in the Device Manager and also active correctly (FN keys).

Check it please all the properties of the mouse.
