  You will need to do a clean selection of figure and copy it to a new layer (and rebuild what was behind it). If you want to animate the figure, you will need several layers (one for each position) and you could change the position of the arms, legs and head with deformation of the puppet. Once you have the parts, can create an animation of image.

  I would use free VMware VM Converter v5. Run it from the computer virtual that you want to move. It's really easy and quick to use. I used to migrate from 4 machines esxi3.5 to esxi5 without any problem.

  You have vcenter? If you cannot migrate from cold or storage vmotioin - otherwise just copy the directory of the virtual machine from one host to the other housing the host using something like WinSCP - and re-register on the new host. Alternatively, you can use VMware Converter to migrate the environment vSphere-

  I managed a number of virtual machines hosted in a datacenter on ESX 4.  I had a request from a colleague to get a copy of a virtual computer so that it can work with it using VMware Workstation.  It is my understanding that simply copying the virtual machine are not working files of the ESX host to a laptop.  I was under the impression that the virtual machine should be converted using VMware Converter.  I also had the impression that there may be problems associated with the different chipsets: ESX host uses a chipset, while my colleague's cell phone uses a different chipset.

  Can anyone confirm or deny the above?  Are there other issues that we should be aware of when you copy a virtual machine from one ESX host to a laptop (Windows XP I think)?

  I am planning to buy a laptop and I need to install workstation 6.5 on it. I want to run ESX 3.5 and ESX 4 on two separate VMs for this workstation. Now, I read on the whitepapers that ESX 3.5 is 32 bit and requires 32 bits processor while ESX 4 is 64-bit and requires the 64-bit processor.

  I don't know if I'll buy 64-bit processor, will be 32 bit ESX 3.5 still manages to run on it or not.

  Basically, I need a list of all the hardware requirements that must be completed in order to give to the seller. Please help me on this point, covering areas IE VT support, processor in 32 / 64 bit, min MHz CPU, memory, hard drive (SATA / ATA / SCSI).
