  I was working on an inDesign document without problem, and suddenly, I was unable to move objects or areas of text with the selection tools. I could move only with the help of my arrows. The objects are not locked and are not on a locked layer. This problem occurs now in all my other documents, and create a document did not help.

  I found this thread (why can I not move objects and text boxes in Indesign CS5.5?), which suggests that I have my inDesign preferences 'trash '. I did, and it does not solve the problem. I also uninstalled and then reinstalled inDesign, but that didn't fix the problem either. I use a version of Mac OS X 10.9.5.

• How to move blocks of text grouped together as a group?

  I have a frame of text with two blocks of total text block in the thread. I'm trying to move only the second half of the framework of the text block from the second to the last page to the last page of my document. I've been able to do successfully using this code:

  myDocument var = app.activeDocument;

  var myEndFrame = myDocument.pages [myDocument.pages.length - 2] .textFrames [1] .endTextFrame;

  myEndFrame.move(myDocument.pages[myDocument.pages.length-1]);

  However, this code does not work during the second half of my block of linked text frame has a another text box grouped inside (for example, a quote). In this case, the script moves only the part of frame of text block and not the other area text grouped with it. I need two textboxes to stick together, and I want to move the whole group together on the last page of my document. I tried everything I can think of to make it work and failed. (For example, I tried to get my code to move the entire group, but I can't seem to recognize the text grouped as group boxes). It could be that I'm missing something obvious. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  Suggest you check myEndFrame.parent before moving.

  If its constructor.name is 'Group' redefine myEndFrame. I mean:

  if (myEndFrame.parent.constructor.name == "Group") myEndFrame = myEndFrame.parent;

  I'm updating app version 13.5 and after I get problem with time slider. I have the video of ten seconds, but when I'm dragging the cursor on the timeline it moves to 9 seconds. I need to add keyframes at the last second. Now, every time that I get the number of frame manually and it's very annoying. How can I solve this problem?

  The latest version is not 13.5. It could be useful that you updated to 13.6.1

  InDesign CS5:

  I work on several documents that requires to move blocks of text.

  When I select the text block with the selection tool, my cursor will move immediately to the text tool.

  I'm not double click, only clicking once to select.

  I don't want to edit text, select only the text block, so I can move it.

  Is there a way to disable this feature?

  Or maybe a tip and Trick so the tool rest the tool selection and not switch to the type tool.

  We prefer to keep the choice to convert an empty block to a block of text, but here already are blocks of text.

• Text CS4 - multiple blocks of text clipping mask

  Can someone explain why the clipping mask only works with a single word / text block? I have a poster with the text - 5 blocks of text I want to place a photo on top - but every time I do a clipping mask > it just makes all empty? (I've grouped text blocks, then place on the image, then make a clipping mask-.. .so all empties)

  I tried only using one of the block of text on the image - it works fine. But I don't want to import 5 photos for clip 5 blocks of text?

• Breakpoint - not able to move the block of text at a breakpoint

  Screen captures, it seems that you have created the breakpoints on the master page. Master page breakpoints do not automatically carry over ordinary pages; You must explicitly create (click on the white triangle on the breakpoint bar to go to the location of the main breakpoint and then click on the button '+'). Once you have a breakpoint on the regular page, you will be able to replace the text block as you wish.

• In Acrobat XI, how can I select and move multiple blocks of text/image at the same time on the same page?

  I work with PDF files generated by student requiring all content in a specific range of margin. Occasional tables and figures are indented or otherwise properly spaced so that the content violates the margin requirement. In Acrobat X, I could use the selection tool to draw a selection rectangle around all text and lines of a table for example and just drag the entire table over a little to meet the requirements without referring the PDF to the author for correction. It did not always work, but quite often that I was able to use it on a daily basis.

  Is it possible to select several (but not ALL) blocks of text and image on a page pieces, so they may be submitted at the same time? If I have to select each text block and lines (or each point and in a chart) and move them each individually, it's going to be a nightmare.

  I have Acrobat XI for Mac and Windows, but tend to use the version of Windows more often.

  I'm having a problem with the moving blocks of text. I'm trying to place a block of text on a chart. They are in the same layer. The graphic (png since Illustrator) is x 50px 960px. the text block is x 50px 200px. (Picture the graph under a brace of section and the text is the name of the section).

  I diligently to align the graphic frame and text to align horizontally (they have the same value of Y). In design mode, they are lined up. (The text is centered in the image horizontally) In preview, the text is is more aligned to the Center with the graph below him.

  I tried all PIN for browser, pin it to the page and not pin code... I was even considering sticking a PIN in my eye, but that seems not good either... I had this same problem with the other blocks of text as well. (Coincidentally also in addition to a PNG in Illustrator.) I had the text block completely disappear in the preview when pinned.

  I don't know that this is one of those really stoopid things simple if you know what to do, it's very simple... but if you do not have...

  The big question... What is the trick to get the text to appear in the same preview as it appears in the design?

• CS5 - most effective way to wire and independent streams of two blocks of text in the same document?

  I am responsible for creating a 100-page instructor guide and I looking for a little guidance in the use of independent text blocks that thread the length of the document.  The idea behind the use of two columns, is that the first column (left) must be used for the notes 'instructor-only', advice, etc..  The second column (right) should be used for the text of the student guide.  Two columns (or blocks of text) would need to move independently of each other.  In other words, when the left column is filled with text placed on the page, the flow of additional text in the left column on page two, left column on page three, etc.  Same thing applies to the right column.  There is no link or thread of the text between the two columns on the same page.

  I tried to reproduce this in a two-column table format, however, the table row height is limited and overset text will not continue the table in the block of text on the next page.

  Set up master page text frames.

  If you use facing pages, put on the student to the student and executive trainer instructor on master pages.

  I think you can do this in Indesign with a block of anchor text.

  I'm using CS5, on a mac. I made a calendar that made the table on the table menu, I added the numbers and days of the week. There is an error for each journal report

  Problem: Overset text: 8 characters

  FIX: Resize the text block or change the text to fit in the frame. Add text blocks to the thread of the story if necessary.

  I mounted the text box on the edge of the page and the photos above the edge of the 3 mm of eave.

  I tried to move the sides of the block of text in a little but still can see no improvement. So was put back in place.

  have you looked at one editor to see what is overset text? And you must adapt the edge table - you cannot print the numbers (or the border lines) so close.
