Movie Maker error: don't have a burner...

Original title: burner problems... Going nuts...

I pull out my camera my chip and downloaded an hour of a band, I just went and listened to and I wanted to make them a cd of the event.  So I downlaoad Windows Music Maker... I drag a playlist as it says to do, made the selection on the right in this square box and I support on burn and he says that I don't have a burner... I don't understand it because I had a burner cuz I took before and downloaded videos on a disc and gave them as a gift.

Here's the deal... I don't know where the burner is or what Im supposed to do to make it work again... Can someone please give me easy step by step instructions (as if you were helping a 7 years) because I am not at all computer smart... Thank you, CIndy, I don't know if this will go to my email, but my email is * address email is removed from the privacy *... (it's driving me crazy)

  • Windows Movie Maker project doesn't find or burns correctly in DVD maker overview

I have created a Windows Movie Maker project, composed of many avi files (129 min) and I can see the entire project in Movie Maker, but when I go to burn a DVD in DVD maker I can only listen to excerpts from the first minutes 33 and the rest is a black screen with no audio (as if there's nothing there). Also when I burn a DVD only burn the first 33 min.  I tried to publish the project to my computer in WMV format, but I get an error when I try to open in DVD creation that the file is not indexed and cannot be opened in creation of DVD. I tried to uncheck the vidoe filters and that has not worked.  Help, please. I put many hours of work into this and am very frustrated.

The file is too large and complex. The best would be to create
several small projects... To each post in the. WMV or. DV - AVI
format in a folder on your hard drive. Then you can import the collection
video files in DVD Maker and each clip becomes a scene
(Chapter) on the DVD. (You can have up to 18 scenes).

The following links explain how to post:

Windows Vista - publish a movie in Windows Movie Maker
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/publish-a-movie-in-Windows-Movie-Maker

The following chart shows where the DV - AVI option.
    http://www.Papajohn.org/IMGs/Vista-PublishToComputerChoices.jpg

Also... for a project for more than two hours... There is a possibility that
You may need to use a DVD Double layer...

    Good luck...

    ==========================================
FWIW... Windows Movie Maker 2.6 is not an update... it's a disassembled
version for systems that will not run Vista Movie Maker 6.

The new version... would be Windows Live Movie Maker. It is quite
different from version 6. If you decide to try it... plan on creating
a new project because your version 6 files probably will not
    be compatible.

    Windows Live Movie Maker
    http://explore.live.com/Windows-Live-Movie-Maker
(There are other applications included in the download...
Uncheck the ones you don't want)

As for the error... I wonder if you may have a compatibility issue
    with your source files.

Several formats are apparently compatible with Movie Maker but the
    more reliable choices are:

    Photos - bmp
Video - wmv or dv - avi
    Music - wma, wav, wmv

Have you tried editing (save) your project in the WMV movie
format and then importing the video file in Windows DVD WMV
    Maker?

It is also possible that your project is too large or complex.

The file cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to re-import the file.  How do I find the codec file and how can I install it?

There is more than probably a compatibility problem wiith

  • What kind of cd/dvd is the best for my video Windows Movie Maker filled and how can I burn it?

OK... I've published my Movie Maker presentation.  It will be presented via a laptop computer and projected.  First of all, what kind of cd/dvd I need?  I know that this information is listed under the HELP section of the Movie Maker program, but what do you propose to help?  AND THEN... How can I do to burn video on cd?  I got to the question re: given dvd vs dvd-video and was confused (sorry... it doesn't take much!).  In my mind, it's a video, but the explanation stated that in this format must then be read via a dvd player.  Finally it can be read that way and it would be nice to have this option, but my goal is now to have played through a computer laptop and projected.  I tried to save it as a video dvd last night, but after almost two hours of "transformation" (my video completed is approximately 3-1/2 minutes), I eventually escape and stop.  Can you guide me through this in simple terms?  Thank you!

DVD-R Virgin should work for you, and you can
burn the video DVD in Windows DVD Maker.

  • Windows Live Movie Maker error Code: 0x80004005__

When I try to open Windows Live Movie Maker from my list of startup programs, there is a quick flash on my screen, and then the error Code window appears telling me that WLMM had to close and try again from, it. Then this error code is present.

I am able to open and start Messenger, Mail opens (although I do not use it), Live Call said it's "not available at this time", Gallery of photos and writer, both work very well.

I wondered if maybe that Movie Maker will not open because I'm in Win 7 and have Windows DVD Maker installed natively with the operating system. I'm probably wrong thinking it, but I was wondering.

Anyway, the idea is to open Windows Live Movie Maker. Any thoughts on what could be the problem would be really appreciated.

  • movie maker error code 0 x 87160139

Movie Maker in Windows 7, used to work, before the updates. In my "already created" but the video will not be published, I can open it up, all my information there are photos, videos, etc... then I start using it, images start to disappear, with the triangle exclamation point.

I close it, open it back up, then different pictures, video clips are disappearing, never the same... all the files are there. Use it like I did before. Cannot publish the videos. I got the beef 87160139 error code... missing codecs stuff, possible? Reading the internet seems I'm not the only one with this problem. Utube videos will also play well at the beginning, but then turn into digital mess... looks like a glitch in microsoft. I spent hours on these videos, I can get all the parts to play properly in the sections. Then the triangles begin to appear... Help.
