Movie maker import is avi_temp, need avi

"Whenever I try to import the camera Sony DCR_HC30 film, it ends up a" avi_temp "video that can not be opened in the movie maker.  What can I do?

Are you sure .avi_temp is a real movie file?

Try to rename the file to xxxx.avi and see if Windows Media Player can play.

  • Movie Maker import does not .mp3?

During the years that I was able to import audio files .mp3 in Movie Maker, it will not and it does not give me an error code. There are a few other new steps I need to do?

The MP3 files can not distracting in Movie Maker...
Sometimes they work sometimes they do not have.
It is also possible that you can import and

  • Windows Movie Maker Import file size limit?

I have a '. '. AVI"file 3 929 057 KB in size I want to edit and cut into smaller segments, but Windows Movie Maker will not open the file.

Is there a file size limit? I have not been able to find info on this subject.

Or is there a way to cut the file into chunks of size who will take care of Windows Movie Maker?  I don't want ot lose any of these images, but in this current state I can't see it at all.

I use Windows Vista and the latest version of Windows Movie Maker, but have the same problem on my XP Pro computer also.

    Thanks John,

I'll look into some of the elements that you suggest, but the video that I have problems with was shot with a camera GoPro Hero and I have serveral shooting more the same day, but shorter than Move Maker opens no problem at all.  That's why I me in question of the limit of file size.  I spoke with a few other people who use the GoPro camera identical to mine and they have no problems, but I don't know how big a folder that they shot and they couldn't remember.

If I have the video edited and produced in other video software, such as cyberlinkthen the video and audio will come by for me to change. I am able to import it into windows movie maker. I use vista 64-bit. What should I do to make this work? Do I need a special codec? I use a hp pavilion p6140f computer

    Michael

    Hi Michael,

    1. This only happens with a particular file type?

This seems to be a codec problem. Some files supported by Windows movie maker again you will need to install a codec before you can use the files in Windows Movie Maker.

You can use your favorite search engine to download and install a non-Microsoft video editing software to convert the file into a format supported by Windows Movie Maker

Note: The use of third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

HI, I use the Camileo S10. Download AVI files to PC (Vista) and openness to all ArcSoftw goes well.
I want to edit the films widely and must use Movie Maker for that. This AVI format used by Toshiba is not recognized. I tried several Codecs but my last hope lies with Toshiba to supply a Codec compatible Vista that works.

Please provide a Codec for Movie Maker to AVI from Toshiba format...

    Hello

Microsoft Movie Maker supports wmv format.
If you want to change other formats, then you must use the option: import video.
This will help import videos saved in another format.

Otherwise, you need to install a free tool to convert avi to mpg.
You can then use the Movie Maker for editing video.

    Hi eragon787976,

Some audio and video file formats are not supported in Windows Movie Maker and cannot be imported. However, if you have a video or audio file that is not taken care of, you can use a non-Microsoft video editing software to convert the file into a format supported by Windows Movie Maker, and then import the video file or an audio resulting in Windows Movie Maker. Some files also require you to install a codec before you can use the files in Windows Movie Maker.

Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.
