Moving disc with right to vote in another diskgroup as root

Hello

I moved the drive to vote in an another ASM diskgroup as ROOT user. After a few hours, one of the node has rebooted. After reading some documents, I see that we need to start with the user of network (we don't have any network user), in some forums, they used the ROOT user.

Could someone please confirm any problems moving the drive to vote with the ROOT user?

Thank you

Riadh

> I used 'crsctl replace votedisk + newDG' to move.  Please confirm by using the root is very good. Normal redundancy with 3 discs each 2G.

That's all is correct (groups 3, 3 disks of voting in the new DG)

    Hello

How is it possible that the RAC cluster nodes will see only some of the records of voting in the cluster?
I ask because I fell on the topic on Oracle docs: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/rac.112/e17264/adminoc.htm#TDPRC570

If this sutuation is possible, is this normal? How will this affect my cluster?

    Kind regards
    Igor.

    Hello Igor

    1. some nodes in a cluster accesses not all discs with right to vote in the cluster?

    Laughing out loud...
nodes in a cluster must need access to at least former numbers voting disk 1 or 3 etc...

without voting disk access to the nodes become unhealthy means network and disk heartbeats are not in this case this node restarts.

    2. If the above situation is possible, is this normal and how it affects the cluster?
    Not possible...
It is not a normal situation

purpose of the voting disk is used to communicate the disk heartbeat and heat network between cluster nodes so without access to voting disk how cluster remain in good health so that nodes must at least
    odd numbers of voting drive.

    3. (new question) don't exit command "crsctl query css votedisk" discs with right to vote the current node can have access, or is that the command returns a global information?

The crsctl query css votedisk command to view the voting disks used by Services synchronization Cluster, the State of the disks with voting rights and the location of the discs, if they are stored on Oracle ASM or elsewhere.

  • Recommendation of disc with right to vote for 11.2.0.3

    Version of the grid: 11.2.0.3

    Platform: Oracle Enterprise Linux 5.8

We want to keep our record of voting in the ASM disk group. Since this RAC cluster is going to host a very critical database, we want to make sure the voting disk worth more 'protected' against disk failure.

All our LUNS are allocated from a Hitachi Frame high-end storage (Hitachi VSP). No mutiple storage arrays. I think it is the case of most of the RAC implementations worldwide. I could be wrong.

So, I guess I can't speciy Normal redundancy or high because there is only one group of failure.

    I have 4 questions.

    1. given the situation described above (all LUN storage even frame) how much Lun should be there in my group of disk OCR_VOTE?

    2. what redundancy shoud set up for diskgroup OCR_VOTE? Normal, High or external?

    3. is there an advantage to having an odd number of LUNS (3) for the Group of OCR_VOTE disks in my case?

    4. it is good to have separate diskgroup to voting disk and OCR?

So, I guess I can't speciy Normal redundancy or high because there is only one group of failure.

    I have 4 questions.

    1. given the situation described above (all LUN storage even frame) how much Lun should be there in my group of disk OCR_VOTE?

Is recommended to create 3 small LUN (one in each storage array if you have that option) and you can create a failgroup to each LUN. (the pattern is multiplex record voting to protect against the problem of corruption or array logical and physical)

Most of the EPS have MPIO and configured RAID then on hardware redundancy (disk or controller of average breakdown) is resolved at the level to support him, but you can protect the voting disk or rock against failures table.

    2. what redundancy shoud set up for diskgroup OCR_VOTE? Normal, High or external?

External if you make sure that your material is highly protect against failures, RAID and MPIO is configured. But you'll be not protected against failures of corruption or logical or physical table.

Normal , you protect against physical or logical and is corruption the location recommended a lun in a different table on the storage.

Obligation to use normal redundancy if you use two or more storage system.

High if your cluster has more than 5 knots, and have two or more storage system is recommended use high rendundacy.

    3. is there an advantage to having an odd number of LUNS (3) for the Group of OCR_VOTE disks in my case?

To set the record of voting on a normal GM with redudancy, you will need at least 3 LUNS as disk to vote on a Normal redudancy requires asmdisk 3 or more.

3 LUN is not a Diskgroup requirement but a requirement of CSS.

    4. it is good to have separate diskgroup to voting disk and OCR?

The only reason to separate (if you RAID and MPIO level H/W), is to protect OCR against failure on Diskgroup.

If you have a Diskgroup (OCR_VOTE) set up correctly, then this will protect OCR in another Diskgroup is a plus.

p.s vote disc can be placed in a diskgroup. OCR can be placed in several diskgroup.

Recently, I faced a lost customer 12 disks (failure) at the same time in a DS8000 storage, storage over 100 physical disks.

We considered impossible, but it may something.

  • Discs with voting rights are not visible in 11 GR 2 under ASM

    Hi all

I had built a 11.2.0.3 new CAR configuration at 2 knots.
When I run crsctl query css votedisk - here is the list of discs with right to vote, but when I go to the spot using asmcmd, I am not able to see them.

Is there a particular reason for it / problem with my installation.

    Thank you.

hide? It is a strong word. Don't forget that asmcmd require an ASM instance to be operational. asmcmd is a convenience tool.

Disks with voting rights are accessible even before that ASM is available, as CSS is started before ASM by profile of negotiators. Thus, discs with voting rights are stored in a specific location in the ASM disk itself header area. • OfficeJet Pro 8610: Margin moved to the right during the copy of document on HP Officejet Pro 8610

When you copy a document via the ADF or the glass, the margin on the copy is moved to the right compared to the original.

I checked to make sure that my driver/firmware is updated and reinstalled just to be sure, I did a hard reset, checked to make sure there is no jammed paper, clean the rolls of paper and rolls and aligned the print head. Copy will be moved to the right approximately 3/8 "compared to the original.

The printer is around the age of 5 months and he just started this about 4-5 days ago. It was not something done that I know to start doing this. I have tried everything I have seen suggested and am late know what I can do--for any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Hey 3star8,

I would say your best bet at this point would be calling HP directly to solve this problem. It seems to me that the problem is that phone support an internal hardware problem of HP may place an order with printer replacement with you under the printer warranty. If you have problems with the replacement, let me know.

    Good luck!

  • My screen has moved to the right. Unable to scroll to the top and bottom of the margin on the right side bar. What should I do?

My screen has moved to the right. The scroll bar on the right side is more visible to use. What should I do?

    Hi roseann.loasby,

As the display is shifted to the right the problem is more to do with your monitor than Windows. A monitor, it of like a TV and invokes hold vertical and horizontal button options to keep the image in place.

There should be options on your monitor to make changes to the positioning vertical/hortizonal (in your horizontal case). Most monitors have an 'auto' option that automatically adjusts the diaply photo, so it is well positioned. It's nothing serious, however, you will need to check your user guide for the monitor to see what options you have to use the re - adjust the horizontal positioning. If there is a "menu" button on the front of your monitor try to press to view a display on your monitor. You can then either use the option 'auto' or else click the left/right arrows (usually on each side of the on-screen menu button) to adjust the menu and then the position.

If you are not confident to do this, you ask someone with more knowledge to do it for you. By pressing the wrong button, you can make the screen more out of alignment, so be careful, as otherwise it will be a matter of trial and error until you have reset the monitor correctly.

It is a fairly simple job to do, but because every monitor is different, it is difficult to write clear instructions because I could tell you to press a button and this button may not be here, then take a look at your user guide for the monitor first to familiarize yourself with the buttons are available.

  • Gmail button (in internet explorer) keeps having moved to the right in my taskbar when I wasn't staying on the left (that's why I first open). How can I get the taskbar buttons to stop randomly to reorganize and stay in order?

Gmail button (in internet explorer) keeps having moved to the right in my taskbar when I want to keep it on the left (that's why I first open).  How can I get the taskbar buttons to stop randomly to reorganize and stay in order?  I'm talking about the buttons on list of my open applications and documents in Windows Vista.  The bar tasks are "locked", but the button of the window open with gmail in internet explore reappears suddenly in the good moments apparently random.

It is in the middle part of the taskbar (what I found online so far is on the start menu, the quick launch area or area/system tray of notification, the location of the taskbar in full, either about grouping taskbar - I disabled because I would like to separate).  Can anyone help?  I don't understand why this is happening (or why microsoft would never do).

Lock the taskbar that it prevents to be moved elsewhere on the office and maintains the different sections where they are - it does not block the tabs showing what is open where they were when they were opened.  There is no control for this function.  Maybe if you uncheck similar taskbar buttons group it will help, but I honestly don't know (and fear he won't make any difference - it may even make things worse).  This also happens to me and I was unable to find an answer.  I think that there are more than just random, but I can't telll you why he moves the legs periodically (sometimes it works fine all day and other days it happens almost immediately).  But still, there is no control for this function, so there is no way to tell him to keep a specific order or to lock an established order, once it has been created.  I suspect that it happens because the notification area icons appear and hide and new programs open and close and which changes the amount of space available and so he rearranges things so that they match and apparently does not always consider the original sequence in which the elements have been added.  Maybe if you remove the Quick Launch toolbar and then add again, the order will reset (but that I know not - probably not in the original sequence, which I doubt is logged nowhere - it did not work when I tried it).

Unfortunately, I don't have a solution to this problem (and I spend a little time looking for even before myselff posed the question) and do not believe that there is a.  It is also unfortunate that you can't move them so they can be put back in the right order if they change.  I don't think that there is nothing wrong with your system or that it is something that can be repaired or fixed - it's just the way it is and we just have to live with it.  I don't know any 3rd party software that controls the order of tabs open in the taskbar program (but you can check out Bing, Gooogle,www.tucows.comand www.download.com to see if I'm wrong on this - here n "t all when I looked trying to solve this problem for my own system).

I'm sorry it wasn't what you wanted to hear, but it's like that.  I don't know if it's different in Windows 7.

    Good luck!

  • Is recovery DVDs the only disc with Satellite A200-1CR

I wonder if I had all the discs with my laptop Satellite A200-1CR, because I can't make heads or tails of the files on the recovery DVDs. Where are all the programs that I should get with the computer., and I had everything installed from the beginning. I want to reinstall windows, but I am concerned if I have all the programs like: winDVD and Norton Security and all the driver.
    Thank you!

    Hello

The Toshiba Recovery DVD is only one of the disks that came with your laptop.
On this DVD, you'll find a Toshiba recovery image that contains the operating system Windows, drivers, tools and additional software.
If you want to redefine the laptop to factory settings then just boot from the recovery disc and the installation will begin.
But note; the recovery DVDs will format the drive so HARD integer if necessary backup data.

Other programs like Win DVD or Norton Security are OEM versions and, therefore, are only on the Toshiba Recovery DVD. It of not possible to download it!
