MTP device

I have a mp3 player and I could get into to get my music but now when plug the mp3 it tells me there is a code 10 and the mtp device does not work, how can it be addressed?  now I can't have my music so I can transfer to another mp3.

Your music is not saved on your computer, otherwise also on separate media?  Flash mp3 player memory can and does fail without warning.

What version of Windows (XP Home, XP Pro, etc.) and Service Pack (none, 1, 2, 3) is installed? If you are unsure, do a click right my computer and select properties for the information.

Make and model of your mp3 player?

What happened between the time where he used to work and when it stop working (installed the new version of the software from the manufacturer installed driver from Windows Update mp3; infection malware; use one registry/tuner cleaner, other (Please specify))?

Connect the mp3 player to the computer
Open Device Manager (for XP: start > run > devmgmt.msc > OK)
Find the entry for your mp3 player and double click it.  Report any indicated under "device status".

  • MTP device error

I have a Samsung YP - K3 mp3 player that Windows XP (with Service Pack 3) now is unable to connect/sync for.

When I connect the MP3 via the USB port, the Hardware Wizard detects it as new hardware and try to install it.  However, after a few minutes the following error msg appears:

    Cannot install this hardware.

An error occurred during the installation of this device.
The specified service does not exist as an installed service.

I don't know why this error occurs, as I have previously been able to to connect/synchronize with the MP3 without any problems.  I got this player mp3 more than 2 years and this error has surfaced only last month.

After searching on the Microsoft answers forum, I'm a little discouraged with many unaswered questions on MTP Device error!

You don't want your Garmin to be recognized as a MTP device, unless you intend to put the music on it and use it as a MP3 player.  Contact Garmin or go to their support web site and see if they have Windows XP drivers for the device or Windows XP software to enable it.  Also, check that it is compatible with Windows XP.

You try to manually add the MP3 player to the computer and check if it can help solve you the problem and if the MP3 player is detected.

You can access the link below and follow the steps in the article to manually add the material to the computer.  When adding the verification of the material if it appears two devices one by one for device MTP and other USB Mass Storage Device. I had the same problem. Tried to install it several times and it has always failed. Then one day it suddenly installed successfully. I think that settles the only difference between failure and success was that I had my phone connected to my PC during the successful installation. • MTP device when connecting Samsung MP3 error

My computer won't let me use my Samsung MP3 yp-p2jcb/xaa model. I use Windows Vista.

I went to the website of Samsung and chatted with them. Him gave me this troubleshooting link: my computer is not recognizing my player when I connect it I tried everything and nothing has worked. Finally, he suggested that I have to contact Microsoft. The device is plug-n-play, so they did not all drivers. I took the camera and plugged on my friends computer, running Windows 7, and the MP3 works perfectly. My computer has had no other problem with USB connections.

When I check the Device Manager, it shows the MP3 as P2 under other with an exclamation point. The error I get is "the drivers for this device are not installed. After that, I saw Code 1 and Code 28.

Then, I tried to reinstall the driver to choose "Browse my computer for driver software" and then me C:\\Windows\system32\driverstore on my computer. It has been proposed by Samsung. I get the following message.

Windows encountered a problem installing the software driver for your device

Windows found the software and driver for your device but encountered an error trying to install it.

    ?   MTP device

There is no driver selected for the item or a set of device information.

If you know the manufacturer of your device, you can visit their website and check the support section for driver software.

I do not understand that she finds the driver software, but cannot install it. The manufacturer can not help with this issue more as they operate very well, they have no drivers and they helped me to solve the problems. I uninstalled the device, restarted my computer and tried to plug it in again. It did not work. I'm lost and it seems obvious to me it has something to do with Vista.
