  1 used to operate correctly when it is connected to my TV (via a HDMI cable)

  I'm trying to use the GPS feature in Microsoft streets & trips 2011. I connect my Garmin nüvi 40 to a USB port and it says "device not connected" when I click on Configure GPS.   I have a Samsung YP - K3 mp3 player that Windows XP (with Service Pack 3) now is unable to connect/sync for.

  When I connect the MP3 via the USB port, the Hardware Wizard detects it as new hardware and try to install it.  However, after a few minutes the following error msg appears:

  The specified service does not exist as an installed service.

  I don't know why this error occurs, as I have previously been able to to connect/synchronize with the MP3 without any problems.  I got this player mp3 more than 2 years and this error has surfaced only last month.

  After searching on the Microsoft answers forum, I'm a little discouraged with many unaswered questions on MTP Device error!

  I had the same problem. Tried to install it several times and it has always failed. Then one day it suddenly installed successfully. I think that settles the only difference between failure and success was that I had my phone connected to my PC during the successful installation. Try to connect your phone to the PC and run the update.
