Multi option - Processing Core in the BIOS

Hi guys,.

I had questions about my r61e running Cubase 5 (creates audio glitches & etc.)-it seems that if I disable multi-process in Cubase it help & he suggested I should do the same thing in the BIOS. My question is - is this negative impact on my system somehow? If I turn off multi-processing in the BIOS I lose power, so to speak? I'm not really sure of the details... Thanks a lot for your help.

Michael.

  • No option of virtualization in the BIOS with the Portege R500

    Hello

Thought I'd post a new thread as the old man seems to be dead...

I just want to know if someone has been able to use an extensions of virtualization Portege R500 processor, Linux, Windows or any other OS. I guess that this will become a requirement of mainstream with windows 7 now out.

If you have been able to use it, could you please put your laptop model correct (it should be on a sticker on the bottom)

This was my original post, showing that the CPU must support her:

I HAV a Portege R500 (or a model equivalent, bought the Japan), v BIOS 1.60 and everytime I try to use applications that supports virtualization extensions, I can't. I use linux as my OS, and he tells me that the virtualization extensions have been disabled by the BIOS.

However, I can't find an option for this in the BIOS! R500 manual (form available from the toshiba support area), there should be an option, just after "core multi processing", I can see:

    Virtualization technology
Sets of virtualization technologies enable or disable the Intel Virtualization
    Technology installed in the processor.
Virtualization technology Intel is the technique that allows a machine to
operated under the name of multiple virtual machines.
Virtualization technology is compatible with some models.
The disabled command does not use the Intel Virtualization
    Technology.
The use of Intel Virtualization Technology Enabled command.
    Virtualization technology allows.
    Activated
    Disables (default) virtualization technology.
    People with disabilities

    But it isn't here!

In addition, I see that virtualization is supported by the processor - the 'vmx' flag is present. The processor is model U7600, it should be supported. You can see from the Intel Web site:

    http://processorfinder.Intel.com/details.aspx?sSpec=SLV3W

Anyone know if it is available through he windows BIOS app (although it is not documented in the manual)? Anyone know if it is possible to contact Toshiba and ask them?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

Are you sure there is NO virtualization option in the BIOS?
Have you checked all the pages?

I found your other thread on the clearing of password and you said this doesn t work, but maybe it works you need to check the VT option yet!

More as you say, the processor must support the VT to VT option in the BIOS the Intel Core 2 Duo processor ULV U7600 support VT

As far as I know there are also a few sets of cell phones where the VT option is not available in the BIOS, but if the processor takes in charge the VT VT is enabled by default as well as the VT option is not present in the BIOS.

  • No option to RAID in the BIOS Y400

I was on a trip of the week long activation iRST attempt on my brand-new Y400, demoted to Win7.

Finally, I got Windows installed in mode UEFI, GPT formatted HARD disc, but seems that I need to enable RAID in order to use my 16 GB SSD (I paid extra for!) like a record of hidden through TSRI.

In the BIOS, I have only two options:

    AHCI

    Compatible

Its currently on AHCI. I see no place to RAID. Why is this? TSRI worked very well with Win8 preinstalled. Why can't activate it now?

In new research, I saw people having to "unlock" their BIOS? Is it not an official option and legitimate? Should I Flash my BIOS with a modded one?

I looked on the page software and drivers Y400, but don't see a BIOS update.

    Any help GREATLY appreciated!

    * EDIT: To clarify, in the technology Intel Rapid Storage Technology program, I don't have an option to accelerate like I did in Windows 8. If I understand correctly, this requirement RAID is enabled. Is this fair?

  • Desktop computer HP P6813w there a RAID option for drives in the BIOS?

    Hello

Looking to buy one of these HP p6813w.

I was wondering if the BIOS supports RAID 2 discs.

    One-piece

    Hi one-piece,.

Boot in the bios (F10 setup) and get off at the fall of peak.  Look at the setting for the sata controller mode and see if you have an option to select RAID.  I do not think that the motherboard in the P6813w RAID capacity according to the information I've seen made available by HP.

If you really want to RAID, then you could buy a RAID PCI card - E to support two data disks.

  • VT options not available in the BIOS

I have a (2342-CTO) T430 with an i7 processor - 3520M I bought in early 2013, and I loaded Virtualbox with a device. When I ran the device, it gave me an error something to the effect that virtualization is not available on my machine.

Afterwards, I went into the BIOS and found the settings for the dynamics of frequency and hyperthreading for the CPU, but I saw no entry for virtualization - any recommendations on where to find or how to activate this feature?

Good day and welcome to the community.

Take a look under the Security tab in the BIOS. "Virtualization Intel (R) technology" is currently enabled or disabled?

    Kind regards.

  • CodeMeter USB caused a significant delay in the process of starting the BIOS on Z200

I use a dongle CodeMeter (CodeMeter) and would prefer to be permanently connected, however whenever I leave it in when starting there is a delay of approximately 2.5 minutes (Don't exaggerate not) just after the BIOS blue HP screen (a cursor flashes in the left corner). I use a Z200 machine. I disabled the boot to removable devices and this still happens. Also, if I get out the dongle CM put in USB storage devices common there is no problem (so it's something to do with the BIOS to interact specifically with the dongle). I don't have this problem on any of my machines Z800 (other machine Yes, but I don't think the BIOS that are very different).

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you in advance.

Did. In any case, do not use a hub (ie. the monitor) solved the problem. Not sure what is the problem with USB hubs, but I'm going to call this sovled.

  • Satellite P100-342 - multi-process Core enabled or disabled?

    Hello world

Just a very quick question: do you have enabled the option "multi-process core" on your BIOS?
If I set this active on my laptop, the system becomes very slow and I don't know if there is a problem with my laptop or its option for 64-bit laptops.

    My specs:
    Satellite P100-342
Intel Centrino Duo processor Intel Core 2 Duo T7200

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

As far as I know if you select this option, a carrot goes out completely and if the computer is very slow.

For example if you select this option, in the Task Manager you should only see one CPU core.
    Can you confirm this?

  • Tecra A8: How to enable VT in the BIOS?

I run vmware player on a Toshiba Tecra A8 with Intel Core.
When you start vmware, he tells me, that my CPU (CoreDuo2 7200) is capable of VT, but this option is disabled in the BIOS.
    Can I change this setting?

Some versions of the BIOS supports this option but I m do not know if this is possible on the Tecra A8.
Simply access the BIOS and check the unique pages. If you find this option, you can try to activate. Otherwise it s is not possible.

  • Portege A100 PPA10A - update the BIOS to boot from a USB device

    Hello

I have an old Portege A100, model: PPA10A-0002LP, but I can't seem to find this model on any Web site of Toshiba, closest I've seen is the "PPA10A - 0002 L'.

I am wanting to know if there is a BIOS update that will allow me to boot from a USB device.

The question I have is that I need to reinstall Windows, but the CD ROm cannot read disks.
This network PXE boot, but I'm new to this sort of thing and have absolutely no idea what to do here.

    Any help would be great,

    Thank you

    Hello

Portege A100 seems to be developed solely for the Australian market.
As you say it is a model number Portege A100 PPA10A - 0002L listed on the Australian page of Toshiba Portege A100 PPA10A-0002LP belongs to the same series which is PPA10A
So in my opinion, the BIOS should work too.

Anyway, I doubt that the BIOS update will add boot options.

Usually the BIOS supports booting from CD/DVD drive, drive HARD, LAN and USB FDD.
It should be possible to boot from a boot disk using a USB FDD drive.
I doubt you'd be able to boot from USB WEIRD since this Portege A100 supports an internal CD/DVD drive.

    Thank you very much...

    Hi mate

Seems that something was wrong during the BIOS update process.
Usually the BIOS update should work correctly but the BIOS update is always sensitive technique and something like that can happen.

Usually the CMOS must be cleared first and then the ROM module must be flashed again. This can be done by an ASP.

Be in contact with an ASP in local guys help!

  • Satellite L30-134 PSL33 - Question about the version of the BIOS and the type of DVD writer

    Hello!

I bought a Toshiba L30-134 PSL33 the week last in Hungary. I recorded to Toshiba international warranty, so I saw that my cell was made the 19.10.2006.
My friend bought the same laptop (Toshiba L30-134 PSL33) too (also in Hungary), two weeks ago. His machine was made on 19.12.2006.
It's already funny, but that's not all.
My laptop has a series number starts with X, and the machine of my friends has this starting with Z. That's ok.
    But here it is...
I have a BIOS version of 1.3 and my friend has a BIOS version of 1.9! 0.6 gap within two months? Why?
The other thing. I have a DVD burner called Mat * a UJ - 841 S and my friend has a LG 4082. Once again: why?
If you are looking for Toshiba BIOS update you don't find anything! It is very interesting. There must be some updates to the BIOS, because I read here to another topis that someone has a BIOS version of 1.4. But there are 1.9 too.
Each book was brand new when we bought.
    Any idea?
Let me know when you bought your laptop, what BIOS version it has, and what kind of DVD player there.
I'm wainting for the answers, because I'm really interested!

    Thank you
    Marcell

    Hey Arnaud!

I m from Hungary, too, but I think I should speak English on this forum :) So here is my notebook, I ve bought on 24.12.06. :

    Type: L30 - 134 PSL33E
The machine was made on: 19.12.06
    Series: starts with Z
    DVD player: LG
    BIOS version: 1.9

You should t be nervous on the drive, the carpet * a Panasonic, and I think that s as good as LG. Why are they different? I put t know, maybe Toshiba was such at the time. In the specifications I didn't seen anything on the drive type, so I think that s not relevant. I t has not found another version of BIOS for this model, so I t understand too why and what are the differences between the versions. But if you n t have a problem with your machine, you do not need to change the BIOS. This isn't a PC, if you haven t many options to change in the BIOS.
If you want to discuss on the laptop on the Hungarian language, I recommend the Toshiba section on www.prohardver.hu.

    Best regards

  • Satellite X 200-how to find the configuration of the BIOS for Intel Matrix Storage?

    Hello world

I'm ready to activate the feature Matrix Storage on my Satellite X 200 - 24 X. The problem is that I can't find any relevant option in the BIOS setup...
    Thank you!

    Hello

Intel Storage Manager is a pilot and not an option in the BIOS. The only option you have in the BIOS is the mode of access to the HARD drive. There you can change between AHCI and Compatible.

For AHCI mode which is faster, you need Intel Storage Manager driver. For the Compatible mode, you n t need additional drivers.

Want to know how to install Storage Manager? Just use the forum search, you will find hundreds of results. ;)

  • Satellite L875D: There is possibility to enable virtualization in the BIOS?

    Hello

I want to buy Toshiba L875D-S73.

I know supports CPU AMD - V required for the performance of like Microsoft Hyper-V virtualization.
But I don't hear anything about BIOS.

Is - this ability to enable virtualization in the BIOS?
    Maybe you know?

Unfortunately I do not have this model laptop but I guess there is no option for virtualization in the BIOS. If the processor supports the it, it must be enabled by default.

I m not sure but I think that laptops equipped with platform AMD do not support virtualization technology, so in my opinion, you should buy model with no D in the name. All models with D have the AMD platform.

Contact your local dealer and ick information on other models of laptops.

  • Satellite L - How do I reset the BIOS?

    Hello

Does anyone know how to access the greyed zones in the BIOS, you have a newspaper as 'Master' or 'Controller' first? or something?

And nobody knows how to reset the BIOS, so I can remove the password and how to access the BIOS supervisor not only a user?

    See you soon

    Hello

I think the gray options BIOS means you are not logged in as supervisor. You must enter the supervisor password, and then you should be able to change these options.

And the BIOS reset is only possible from an authorized service. Ask a technician for this. They can help you!

    Welcome them
