multi-site wireless network

Hello

I find a Cisco wireless solution to deploy in my company. Now, we have wireless 3com at HQ and branch offices don't have wireless network.

My idea is to stop all the 3Com network and deploy a centralized Cisco wireless network. If I install Wireless Lan Controller at HQ and deploy several APs HQ offices and branch, could I management all points of this WLC?

Thanks in advance.

Javi

Yes, you can... The APs that will be at HQ will be in Local mode and one who will be on the site of the Directorate will be called HREAP APs.

  • Printer wireless HP 7510 goes - 4 station XP wireless network, w / 1 connected PC.

    Printer: HP 7510

Network: multi-user wireless through the DLink DI-632 (a PC connected to the router)

Address configuration: printer uses static IP - DHCP (192.168.15.240) outside

The printer config: each computer has static IP set in the Control Panel app, using the IP address.

Operating system: XP (Service Pack 3)

Other devices: Ipad, Xoom and Kindle Fire (work all use ePrint)

Protocol of network security: WEP (we are out of the country)

Network configuration: main router, as well as 2 (wired) access ports; currently using channels 1, 5 and 11 (again, we are in the country and have little competition for channels)

File Sharing: All machines on a network have a player to 'share' open, accessible with passwork.

Scenario: Wireless computers seem to stay connected for several days to a week at a time. (Restart us every week, just like a POS)

Computer that is connected to the network loses communication with the printer a couple of times a day and needs to be rebooted in order to re-establish the connection.

When this happens, other machines continue to print and scan, without any problem and the wired machine continues to have its name displayed in the SCAN on the printer control panel - but the printer won't talk to her.   All network functions, including internet and intranet access to SAP of the printer is always available.  I noticed that if I go in checking ink levels, however, that the ink control software behaves differently.

Normally in the application of the ink status, there is a small icon of 'work' with 6 points. When this computer is connected properly, it will start to jump around the circle, showing activity, get 41% and then view ink status info.  When connecting the printer and the computer does not work, the icon of 'work' will go to a few percent, then go to the information page printer, showing the brand, model, serial number, etc. level firmware.

In all cases to date, reboot (without any other action) brings the connection of the printer and the computer to life - until the next time.  I will try to find any other model of this behavior, just cannot identify it again.

I started with the installation of regular vanilla, but then all the computers on the network would always connections, about every 45 minutes. Using the info on this forum, I eliminated the dropouts for these printers and got static IP solutions (we did this anyway for the years with net lending machines).  It's the last machine which "falls" it seems that some piece of software that are required HP is 'stall' or began to hurt, but I can't see a model, same check and note the different software used locally on the computer and various Web sites visited. So far, no reason.

I hope the guru of the HP with access to the source for the software status "supply of ink" can take a look at what is happening and why always go to 41% and then view the status of the ink (when connected) and then just stop a few percent and view the status of ink (when it is not connected).

    Thank you, in advance,

    Jim

Windows never displays the wireless network adapter on any able to pick up a wireless transmitters. The error I get is: an unexpected error has occurred.   Seek to deepen, I read that he was saying that Windows could not set the IP address.

This would indicate that my software driver wireless network adapter did not work. Yes, I have installed internet access and it indicated on the Internet site, that the cd was the most recent driver so no additional download was necessary, use the cd to install the driver. In addition, went to the Windows 7 compatibility page and the netgear WG 111v3 that my current card is authorized for 64 bit. So, where should I go from here? Oh, yes the s5503w recognizes the hardware in the device mgr. He sees the driver software, it's like something is blocking the final stages of obtaining information IP/MAC of the wireless network adapter.

    Hello:

I would say that there is a problem with the 3rd party firewall.

I had the same network Netgear USB v2 card no less, and it works well with my setup of W7 64 bit on my HP PC.

I recommend you uninstall or disable the ZoneAlarm firewall.

W7 features of a firewall, your router WRT54G has a hardware firewall. I had one of those too, but moved to the E2000. I assume that your wireless network is secured in some way.  I think that this is your problem.

Did you know that you can get a free antivirus/antispyware software from Microsoft that works just great?

    Here is the link:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/PC-security/MSE.aspx

I think that it would cause less problems with my installation of other free software system. I have yet to be disappointed.

  • Satellite P300 and Win7 - cannot see wireless networks

    Hello

I have Toshiba Satellite with Win7x64 and I bought on eBay an AR5008.

If I boot Linux I can connect to wireless networks.
However if I boot in win7 that I can't even see wireless networks. If I run diagnostics I get the radio is turned off.
Even with ConfigFree I get the same message, even if the switch on the front of the laptop is on.

What can I do? I tried all the drivers!

    Hello

Normally, you can enable or disable the WLAN connectivity by using the equipment and the FN + F8 key combination switch.
    Did you check that?

I guess for the FN + F8 key combination you need value-added package. You can download it on the Toshiba site.

Last but not least, works WLAN with preinstalled OS from Toshiba?

  • Satellite L500-13z - Windows 7 does not recognize wireless network adapter

    Hello

The Windows 7 RC Device Manager does not recognize my wireless network adapter (for example: Atheros, Intel or Realtek). I tried to install all the Toshiba support drivers, but none of them work:

After installation, they ask me to connect the unit to my computer (of course it is still on the motherboard!).

=>, Is there a way to know what is my Wifi adapter?

that one failed: http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD7201PO000SR01.htm (this is the only Word to say "network adapter" with a yellow exclamation point).

-Online someone knows when will be released Windows 7 drivers on the website?

    Hello

Before you begin to install all drivers WLAN you can find on the Toshiba site you must make sure that wireless network card, you have exactly. You can check in the Device Manager-online properties-online Details of the local network adapter device.
Need you an information like PCI\VEN_XXXX & DEV_XXXX

If you have based this information you are looking for with these terms on this site in order to determine the exact WLAN card:
    http://www.PCIDatabase.com/

After that, you can download the driver appropriate for your laptop. Before installing, you must uninstall all other versions and restart the laptop.
Also, make sure that the WIFI is enabled with the hardware switch and FN + F8.

    Hi mate,

Just a simple question: have you activated the wireless network adapter using the hardware on the computer switch portable and key combination FN + F8?

Satellite L300 is permanently equipped with wireless network card because a friend of mine had the same specifications.

However, you should try to update the WLAN driver. Check the download page of the Toshiba driver for an update.

  • Sat Pro M30: Can't see the wireless network.

In my work, we have the wireless network. When I search the network I don't see. the wireless signal is strong.my laptop Satellite Pro M30's.

Could you please have the solution or know what the problem is.

    Hello

Have you used the Atheros WLan or Intel WLan card?
As far as I know if you unit has an Atheros WLan card you should always use the Atheros Client Utility to connect to some networks.
In this case, the option use Windows to configure my wireless network must be disabled. If you the Intel card this option must be checked.

  • Wireless network connection drops on my Tecra A4

    Hello
When I upload a file (or just only connected to the web), the connection drops about 30 seconds for a few seconds. I tried many things, like change the channel, change security settings (wpa/wep), tried other places in the House, but if I sit only one metre from the router, I have the same problem.
The strange thing is the computer which is directly connected by cable to the router shows no problem at all...

See also http://www.sappa.nl/dumeter.jpg for an illustration of the problem.

I read about a possible solution (http://arstechnica.com/news/posts/1080251780.html), by closing the windows net zero service and instead of this service to use a different program to search for and connect to your network (configfree?)

    I use a netgear WPN824 router
My laptop is a Tecra A4

    Greetings!

    Hello

It's not easy to give you a proper answer.
If your device works with the Atheros WLan card, you must use the Atheros Client Utility to configure WLan settings and the option to use Windows to configure my wireless in the wireless network properties must be disabled.
In addition, please check from Toshiba Web site for the new Wlan driver. Maybe the new update could solve the problem.

    Good bye

  • On V6302AU (V6000 Series) wireless network adapter

I had no problem with my front wireless (and run wireless of my sister is not the network).  Now, when I turn on my computer the wireless signal turns blue and the icon says he's working.  However, my computer does not recognize all wireless networks.  The Windows Network Diagnostics indicates that the computer has an installed and configured wireless network adapter.  I've uninstalled and reinstalled the driver wireless lan broadcom for vista on the compact site, but that did not help.

    Can anyone help?

    Thank you

I took my computer to my friends shop, sent it to HP and they replaced the part.  It took a few weeks and cost about NZ$ 80.  Problem solved.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8625: HP8625 sleep mode/wireless network connectivity

I recently bought an OfficeJet Pro 8625 and it worked fine for a few days, with everyone in the House, being able to print wireless connection network (Verizon FIOS via an Airport base station).  However, now it won't keep (or restore) a Wi - Fi connection after going to sleep.

I can get the printer to work, if I turn it works, then immediately print (but only one machine... If I need to print from two different computers, I have to restart again to use the second computer).

This is the case for all computers in my house - using several OS X (El Capitan, Mavericks and Snow Leopard) and the other with Windows 10.  I tried the troubleshooting tips that I could locate, and the firmware is up to date.

I should be able to send a document to the printer from anywhere in the House, from any computer, without walking to the printer and restart it first.  A network printer should be sprained able himself, reconnect to the wifi and print jobs sent to it, but mine doesn't.

How can I solve this problem?

These settings are to set up your wireless printer to stay connected to your router, wireless devices stay better connected and makes your router secure and hack proof.

While the DHCP is convenient, devices like printers must always be assigned an IP (fixed) manually to avoid conflicts on your wireless network.

    1. Set a static in the printer IP address (click here) outside the range of the DHCP of the router (check your manual). It is for Linksys routers, but can be used for all routers. Check your DHCP range and change this first if necessary. More Help Wireless Printing is here (Windows solution 4, static IP).
    2. Or check in the printer "Auto off" is disabled the System Mode Time Out is set to zero (0) Use the built-in webserver (EWS) by visiting the printer address IP address in the address bar of your browser, click on settings tab/Auto Off. Or use the printer, printer Home Page (EWS) Wizard. Also check the properties of your printers.
    3. If the printer supports and has IPv6 enabled, disable the IPv6 option in the printer.
    4. If necessary and you have assigned a static IP address, try using auxiliary for the preferred DNS Server 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 as DNS server.
    5. Wireless printers work only on the 2.4 Ghz band.
    6. Make sure the printer is on the latest firmware by checking with the HP support site.
    7. Check all devices wireless in your home for interference. Check microwave, babyphones, phones, wireless and wireless alarm systems are a big culprit. Any of these will knock at your printer wireless intermittently.
    8. Make sure that your printer and router are at least 6 feet, independently of the other.

In the router: (refer to the manual of your router for more information)

    1. Use a fixed wireless channel as the 1, 6 or 11, never 'auto', try channel 1 first then the rest.
    2. Set the router to 20 Mhz only or 145Mbps router function.
    3. Always use WPA2-AES encryption (personal), but you can try the "mixed" mode
    4. Disable the WPS and never use it and disable the UPnP for the security of routers. No one can hijack your system now and help with wireless connectivity (if you want to know why, research on the web).
    5. If you have a router dual band (2.4 Ghz and 5.0 Ghz bands), make sure the SSID is NOT identical, they must be different for all the bands, even for networks without comments.
    6. SSID broadcast should be enabled.
    7. Save all the settings. Food at the same time, wait 2 minutes.  Power on router wait 2 minutes.
    8. Marketing the printer and check that it reconnects to the router.

Windows 7/8/8.1 is discovered the system on or off?

    1. Control Panel/Network and Internet/network and sharing Center / advanced sharing settings.
    2. Under home or work (current profile) / network discovery.
    3. Select "Turn on network discovery" and save the changes.

Now last thing to do once everything above has been tried and you still have the same problem, completely uninstall and delete the printer and its software.

Use http://www.iobit.com/en/advanceduninstaller.php and powerful Scan at the end.

Now go back and reinstall the drivers and full software on the HP website.

Last resort effort - if your printer has an Ethernet connection, suggest you to get some adapters line and convert your Ethernet wiring for your printer.
