  I am beginner in the adf and according to the requirement of my project I need to use the multilingual features in an application.

• Oracle recommends AL32UTF8 but installs WE8MSWIN1252

  Is there a way to select AL32UTF8 during installation? Setup of 12 c on Windows me has failed to change the character set.

  Of the 12 c database administrator's Guide:

  "Oracle recommends AL32UTF8 as the database character set. AL32UTF8 is the name of Oracle for the standard Unicode UTF-8 encoding. The Unicode standard is the universal character set that supports most of the languages currently spoken in the world. The use of the Unicode standard is essential for any technology multilingual, including the processing of data. »

  If you do not use many charactersets, and several languages in the future, build with AL32UTF8.  You must choose an advanced mode during the creation of the database to select the characters.

• WHO has deployed multilingual and what kind of feedback have you heard of users?

  We have deployed Chinese and we met a few minor problems have been elements has not translated that Oracle has fixed.

  However, the biggest concerns were:

  1 EQ allows translations to be sent within an EQ. users must send multiple EQ for each language.

  2 ingredient statements did not have the globe for Multilingual translations. Users had to log in with each language and save the ingredient statement. They were not aware of this until we foound try it because it didn't work like the rest of the fields translation.

  3. work statement - had a globe but was not searchable

  I just found "Combined Declaration" in the specifications of the product and it is not searchable.

  6.1.x it is considered to be a customization because you must change the configuration files encrypted, but it is possible and quite fast.

  Take a look at which matches the searchable property of name ID Spec?.

  Notice: You must apply the configuration of supported files.

• Eloqua multilingual user interface

  Hi all

  We have a lot of users and clients connecting in EMEA and APAC countries, where English is not the first language.

  According to me, one of the priorities for Oracle with Eloqua may make available multilingual user interface. This could be just wishful thinking on my part it would be a PRECIOUS help. I am particularly interested in the Japan because it is where my team.

  Someone has information (or even a guess) on Eloqua UI being developed in several languages?  Estimated time?

  Hi Geoff,

  It's actually one of our top priorities at the moment and we have a dedicated team working on it.  One of the huge benefits of the Oracle acquisition of are that they have this down to a science, and there is a very large Department and the 'translation' machine dedicated to this purpose.  Are some primary steps in making this real.

  -First of all, the user interface of the platform should be built in such a way that labels or text can be programmatically extracted and replaced.  New Eloqua screens built in the style of HTML5 had this integrated review there are only a few tweaks to do there.  Some of the screens that have been longer require more effort to make this possible, but we know what we need to do.  The platform must also be able to capture, store and display international characters, Eloqua has been able to do for a long time, we are there.

  -Secondly, there is a solid approach to the identification of 'culture' (country + language) of the user wishes to use and carry through their session.  We use the term culture because it is not only dependent on the language or dependent countries.  A simple example of this would be British for numbers, dates, and currencies style even if the language is English.  We have this understood as well

  -Finally, we need the real user interface translation to do - and it is where Oracle really helps to join us.  They have a team of translators from around the world who will make this part for us, with the participation as required according to the specific terms the business context.

  The big question is more clearly when and what languages.  That I can not commit at this stage that we're still relatively early in the project, but the general feeling is that one should be able to complete the work required in steps 1 & 2 and get some initial language translations "tier 1" made at the start of next year.  Once again, it is what we are organizing a view of road map, but please do not take it as a commitment as a variety of internal or external factors may change the "timing".

• Area of private use in the Oracle database

  one of my customers have very specific needs. In this case, it has its own "characters". It uses Latin characters and certain characters. Their data are mixture of these characters. Their own characters are not in Unicode format and we have specific policies.

  These specific characters will be in the private use area, but I don't know if and how the Oracle database support unicode private use area.

  And what sorting, filtering data? What classification is applied?

  Oracle supports Unicode PUA you can store codes of PUA in a database AL32UTF8 and you can treat strings containing characters without special considerations. PUA characters are classified into letters in the Oracle database.

  Oracle maps the characters (EUDC) user of various character sets defined multibyte (JA16SJIS, ZHS16GBK, ZHT16MSWIN950, KO16MSWIN949, etc.) to the characters of PUA. These characters are also used by the former Hong Kong HKSCS extension mapping. If supporting user-defined characters in PUA is not a problem for the customer, they can use the standard plane 0 (BMP) PUA [U + E000 to U + F8FF] in their purpose. However, to avoid conflicts with existing maps, they should put their characters in plane 15 PUA [U + F0000-U + FFFFD] or plane 16 PUA [U + 100000-U + 10FFFD]. The downside is that the planes 15 and 16 require four bytes per character in AL32UTF8 compared to three bytes for plane 0.

  The classification applied to the characters PUA is the same as that applied to the other characters in a given environment. The order of the characters PUA in the given classification, depends on the type of snack:

  • In BINARY classification, the comparison is obviously based on binary codes. The order depends on encoding (AL16UTF16 vs AL32UTF8), especially for aircraft 15 and 16 PUA plane.
  • In monolingual rankings (which are not well suited for Unicode characters anyway) PUA are generally ignored in the sorting (but does not) than the characters defined explicitly in the given classification. Compared only among themselves, they use the UTF-16 Binary order.
  • In multilingual characters rankings PUA are generally classified after all characters defined explicitly in the rankings, which are characters from scripts (Latin, Cyrillic, Greek, Georgian, Armenian) Europeans and, in some rankings, an East Asian script. Between them, they are classified according to AL16UTF16 (= UTF-16BE) binary collation.
  • In the UCA, the characters multilingual rankings PUA generally are classified into once all characters defined explicitly in the rankings, which are usually all defined Unicode characters. Between them, they are classified according to AL32UTF8 (= UTF - 8) binary collation. Note that the UCA rankings are new in the database Oracle 12 c.

• Support multilingual in the design/execution?

  I tried to understand if Webcenter portal has a way to support multilingual during execution.

  What I mean is if we add the content through the portal editing mode, if a user creates a new page or modifiies the portal we guarantee multilingual so that the content created by the user? Or how can the user do the Multilingual page.

  Concrete example. The user creates a page with an image and a html page/file, both at the University Complutense of MADRID where there are 2 versions of each for each language. (searchable by metadata).

  Second example practice. This time, its not the content of UCM but just the text inserted into the page, can the user add translations or edit the hollow of beams of language portal?

  Yes and no.

  Site of the Studio, is indeed a web content management solution, still a part of the content of WebCenter, and you can make a site with it. I wish to indicate, however, that it is "replace" portal. In any case, several concepts of Site Studio or its new version Site Studio for external Applications, have been consumed by WebCenter Portal, esp. content Presenter.

  Such a concept is that present content can (also) be driven by metadata, which is exactly something that you could use for multilingual sites.

  The following seems to work but be aware, that this is still a hack and certainly not bulletproof.

  The best way to handle this is to have the AL32UTF8 migrated db character set, or the external analysis.

  Explanations:

  (1) I put your example of XML in a file saved with UTF-8 encoding and it shipped to a database directory (DOC_DIR).

  (2) I have access to the file as CLOB using DBMS_XSLPROCESSOR.read2clob, and (here's the trick) considering the file in the db character set (mine was WE8ISO8859P15). Accordingly, all multibyte characters are converted into single-byte characters in the DB character set.

  (3) I use the XMLType constructor to construct an instance of XMLType off the CLOB and analyze with XMLTABLE.

  (4) who gives me four columns which I then convert into sequences of bytes (utl_i18n.string_to_raw) and finally to NCHAR (utl_i18n.raw_to_nchar) by specifying the encoding of the original file.

  Using the session WEBLANGUAGE variable (the user parameter is set when a user selects a language on the sign-in page.) and creating a logical column who choose tables alias suitable according to the value of the session variable.

• Multilingual support in the Navigation model in the webcenter Portal

  I have an interesting question at hand.
  
  I am building a portal WebCenter application where I need to support multiple languages.
  In addition, the change of locale is not derived from browser but provided as a choice (as a drop-down menu) so that the user can choose the language on the run time.
  
  So I did the created resource bundles, bean and done the basic setup and it works for all labels, labels etc.
  
  But I need to show these menu items in the local language and I'm stuck with navigation model that when I change the language by changing the value of the drop-down list, it never takes effect in the menus.
  
  I tried below, but was unable to do so.

  If you set up your navigation model titles use all resources you need to invalidate the cache model SiteStructure or Navigation.

  I tried and it worked. What's in your trace files? You specified two different, both files in / tmp. Journal will be in one of them. Please, view the contents of the log file. In addition, the problem may be with the SQL Server. ODBC 20009 error is "error of numerical value": http://www.wiki-errors.com/err.php?wiki=20009

• worker for JTFLINS.sql could not all maintaining multilingual tables

  I install a new language pack for R12.1.2, dB 11.2.0.1) already 4 lanuages installed (English, German, Dutch, Spanish)

  Please see if (Adworkers fail using Adadmin "maintain multilingual tables" task [390280.1 ID]) applies. If the document does not help, I would say that you connect a SR.

• Due to Oracle Database 11 g: Administration Workshop Release 2 class I count?

  Hey all. I'm trying to figure out if the class "Oracle Database 11 g: Administration Workshop I release 2" taken into account in the OCP certification. I know that "Oracle Database 11g: Administration Workshop I" made from this page: http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=244#5 However, Release 2 is not listed there. It would be a pretty spectacular waste of $3,000 to take a class that does not count towards OCP so that's what I'm going to. :) Help appreciated!

  Yes, the R2 and R1 of the class version for both count.

  The number of courses will be D50102ccxx - cc indicates the language, if the course is offered multilingual and xx 'revision '. In this case, we went from 'xx = 10' to 'xx = 21'.

  Oracle stops delivery of course R1 once the course of R2 is available, except exceptional request request the R1 version. I had many participants in my classes of R2 to the exam and they have not indicated any problem with additional content or any problem with the requirement practice.
