Original title: at Microsoft course to resolve this ONGOING problem, & VERY BORING PROBLEM with his Windows security updates?
Morning everyone,
There was considerable number of complaints about the failure of Microsoft to solve the problem with its updates of Windows, including updates security for XP, Office 2003, the removal tool malicious and the infamous KB2538242! I saw these varied complaints not just here, but on some other sites as well forum.
In the evening of Tuesday, July 12, 2011, I once more has received notification of Update icon in my taskbar and clicked on it to start the updates. According to the list, there were 5 so-called updates downloaded & installed... as shown below: (my auto-mises update is updated every day at 01:00):
KB2555917 (a security update for XP)
KB2538242
KB2493523 (a security update for Office 2003)
KB890830 (updated Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool)
KB2507938 (a security update for XP)
SUPPOSEDLY... .these updates have been installed. But, just as happened previously, Microsoft Update icon still reappears in my taskbar within 20 minutes the so-called updates being completed! Yet once, I went through this cycle of "download & installation" these supposed updates 4 different times before visiting the account that Microsoft has NOT YET SOLVED THIS CURRENT QUESTION! There is absolutely NO help is available, whether of Microsoft at all... except if you're loaded with money to spend on paying them to offer some apology for the problem. Here ARE the UPDATES security AND in accordance with the PROTOCOLS of MICROSOFT, MICROSOFT IS supposed TO BE PROVIDING SUPPORT FOR THE QUESTIONS OF THIS TYPE!
When the problem instead of turning its back on its customers with the blade go Microsoft to wake up and solve this problem continues is to excuse this "oh, there is no support available for these security update issues... unless you are willing to PAY SOME COSTS FOR the SERVICE? (It was the response I got from one of the support staff for the customer to Microsoft by phone, said by the way!)
You VERY DEFINITELY have an ongoing responsibility to your Microsoft customers. What you do to solve this maddening, growing problem, and how a Win XP SP3 client can get any help?
Welcome & thank you for your comments.
Please keep us informed of any progress you make, Pete.

The same updates keep installation again and again.
Every time that the computer shuts down, the same updates keep installation again and again. They also create a new folder on drive C named as numbers only with the 2 files in each directory. These are difficult to remove. Previous updates of the same number succeeded. It is a bit of a pain!

"Updates installs then your computer stops" shows everyday - is this the same update
original title: "install updates then shuts down your computer"-windows vista home premium
Start button still shows a small yellow icon next to the 'Off' button that says "install updates then shuts down your computer" every day. Is this the same update? or malware? I don't think I'm getting a new update every day. because it says "Installing Update 1 2" whenever I installed. I ran the antivirus scans and malware and even Spybot - Search and Destroy, apart from a few cookies scans are clean. This seems to have appeared after the first time I installed this update. instead of turning off my computer later he just had the black screen and not ended up closing; I had to turn off manually. The few times that I have installed this "update", it took about 5-7 minutes. The yellow icon disappeared after installing the updates, but comes back the next time I push the button start. I even did a restore of the system without result. How can I get rid of this?

The same updates Windows 7 repeatedly attempt to install
So, my sound keeps cutting. Whenever he does I know that Microsoft has decided to install the same update. I'm going to the start menu, and, of course, there are the little exclamation point on the shield. I'll click it... and it will disconnect me, start closing down and the installation. Its always install a part 8. And I'm almost certain it's the same "update" 'installed' and more and more; even if it's Windows, I could be wrong... more strange things happened. How can I prevent this, or at least to get a more useful update that I did not install several times / day and stops at my mute. It is quite frustrating. Thanks :)

Repeatedly offered the same update
Windows Update keeps trying to install the same update (KB981852) again and again. Whenever update is a new update, downloads and installs it. He says that the update has been successfully installed. When the dialog box is closed, a new dialog box appears and wants to download the same update. This is repeated 10 times and I can't seem to stop trying to install this update.
First of all, it's a little strange that answer appears PA bear prior to a post submitted more than 12 hours. before him. Also, it is strange that I never was warned of his assignment until I was informed that it was marked as a response, so I never had the opportunity to react before it has been marked as an answer.
My bad for not specifying not what operating system it has produced, but a quick search on Google for the update number of, whowas in my post, would have revealed that this is a update of security for Windows XP (mine is 32-bit). The machine is the free version of Comcast of Norton Security Suite installed and is therefore always up to date. Norton manages spyware blocking (although the Defender is much less than it is in any case). And of course, Norton provides the firewall (although I had to manually turn off the Windows Firewall three times after installing Norton; it was before installing the update above). It was a totally clean, after being shaped and test of surface, installed Windows XP Home OEM from an installation disc (I am a member of the Microsoft Partner Network). There are three other machines Windows XP here (2 with Pro) and the other with the House, all the 32 bits that had recently reinstalled OS which has not experienced this problem when the same update has been installed on them and all had Comcast of Norton installed before the offered update version. It's news to me that there is a toll free number to get free assistance for the security updates, it seems to be a well-kept secret, that I can find no mention of this inyour research support, on or off the Microsoft Web site.
Yet, none of the foregoing is an answer to my question, as seems to be preferred on the Microsoft Forums, unless it is summarily assumed that the applicant is a fool, then all the possible solutionsobvious are specified, even when the applicant stated that he had tried these thingsbefore asking for help.
In all cases, the problem seems to have been resolved by simply saying to Windows Update to stop advising me of the update.

Windows Update, offering the same updates
Hello
I am running Windows Vista Home premium 64-bitI did a factory of my computer reset today and have been involved in the update of windows for some time now.I am facing two problems with windows update:1 - the first is that Windows update keeps giving me the same important updates 3 over and over-Internet Explorer 8 for Windows Vista for x 64 systems-Update for Windows Vista for x 64-based systems (KB971029)-Windows Search 4.0 for windows Vista x 64-based Systems (KB940157)It has been the installation of the updates successfully and I get the green icon in windows update, but after 'check updates', I always get the same updates.
I tried to pass by the troubleshooting suggested to this page on renaming the folder C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution, but with no result... http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/windows_other-windows_update/Windows-Vista-keeps-wanting-to-install-the-same/4ca85f08-73e3-4A4B-B1FF-f3747fcf945e2. via the properties of my computer, I see that I have Service Pack 1Given that windows update will not provide Service Pack 2, I downloaded manually via the Download Center and tried to install it. but I get a message saying that the Service Pack 1 is installed.
Please help me and thanks in advance. Thanks for your reply,
However, the computer has a hardware problem that required me to reformat the first time is when the issue of the update happened, I had to solve the problem and again the reformat...I have corrected the problem and that's goodThanks again and sorry for the inconvenience. -
Vista update repeatedly offers the same updates
Successful installation KB2478663 & KB2518870, then a few minutes later was offered the same updates. I installed these 2 updates 20 times, always with success! How can I stop this from happening? This also happens with the new KB 2533523 & 2468871 Ko.
I didn't have that, but I just noticed for the first time in weeks, I don't have updates pending! It seems that something cured my problem so I was away for 5 days?
In any case, I'll see how long this lasts. Thanks for the help.

Why did I have to install the same update for Visual C++ Service Pack so many times?
Last week, I installed what appears to be the same exact update (even has the same update code) at least 4 times a day. He said that it is an a security update for Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistribution Package (KB2538242). Is there a problem with the update?
