Multiple VCenters in one VSphere Client

Kinda new to this but just curious, can you have multiple VCenters in a single client VSphere? Currently I have 6 VCenters I log in, I have therefore 6 vsphere client running.

Welcome to the community.

You can configure in bound mode. According the current scenario of you, you have already configured the vcente. If you need to add them in to a single pane view vcenter.

Here's a nice blog that help you solve your problem.

hope you find interesting.

The installer: We have multiple vCenters each with their own SSO. We must build a minimum install vRA lab 6.1 and used the SSO to the vCenter which is the endpoint lab (and ended up having problems when this vCenter SSO had to be rebuilt and in turn liquid reconstruction vRA). Building on a vRA 6.2 Distributed Lab (based on deployment in the 6.1 reference architecture) to validate our production plan and decided to use the identity.

Question: For a production buildout there is no reason not to use the device of the identity (scalability, performance, lack of HA)? If you are using vSphere SSO, when there are multiple vCenters one that should be used for SSO of vRA? If that vSphere SSO is never removed (say on the whole things are replaced by a central SSO for all vCenters rather than each on their own, or some issue needs to be rebuilt) is there a clean way to repoint SSO vRA without a reconstruction?

What I did in this case is to build a fresh cluster SSO using vCenter SSO and pointing vCAC on this one. It becomes my main source of SSO and I slowly vCenters point and other components to it overtime. You usually put vCAC SSO signed certificates and generally I find people vCenter SSO deployment in this way. To remedy this trying to modify an existing SSO vCenters and risk having to reinstall your VC because you missed the CERT, simply create a new. This also alleviates a changing overtime vCenter and spoil the vCAC SSO. The unit of identity cannot be clustered or joining existing areas of SSO. So if you are looking for HA and scale which probably does not cut it.

  • Symbol warning on one of my hosts, VCenter in VSphere client?

When I connect to my server VCenter with VSphere Client, one of my guests has a symbol attention to it, but I can't understand why. I looked into the events and the last even that my CPU usage went to Green said.  I don't know where else to look at. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Check the Summary tab to see if there are any warnings - for example SSH enabled. Check the tab also alarms and ensure that you have launched alarms selected (as opposed to the definitions of the alarm). You may also go to the top of the tree to see if the alarm is on the cluster, or DC, etc.

    For example, you see a warning at the level of the host;

    There is no alarm triggered;

    But on the summary, here's the warning tab / issue;

  • VSphere Client multiple connections to a single server vCenter Server?

I have a vCenter Server that manages a few hosts. I know it's a bad habit to manage guests individually using vSphere Client, but I was wondering if I can have multiple connections to the same server vCenter Server vSphere client using the same Windows credentials?

It seems counterproductive to only allow a connection to the server vCenter Server...

Yes - by default, a connection up to 25 to vCenter

  • How to generate more than one hour performance statistics in vSphere Client 4.0?

We have installed a trial version of vSphere ESX 4.0 (on processor Intel 8 with Fedora Core 12) and vSphere Client (on Windows Vista 32-bit) and that it provides only 1 hour of performance statistics.  Then apply a license valid, it still generates only 1 hour from CPU graphics and logs.  Does anyone else have this problem?

Performance logs are exported from vSphere Client by either: a)-> report file-> performance (recorded as file .xls for all virtual machines from the host), or b) right-click on the individual VM-> report Performance... (for the individual VM).  Whatever it is, will appear .xls files contains only statistics of CPU, memory, storage, network and disk of the last hour.

In addition, the "Graphics Options" in the performance tab will not let you change the interval of time either, although there are options for the 'end '.  They are disabled. Please see screenshot.

    Help, please.  Thank you!

The configuration is done on the host itself, not on the virtual machine

  • Saving a vCenter Server in vSphere Client Web (5.5)

    Hello

I was wondering if it is possible to save multiple vCenter servers (all vCenter Server devices) with a single instance of vSphere Web Client that runs on one of these devices to vCenter?

VCSA1 > use built in Web Client to manage all vCenter servers.

    VCSA2 > register with VCSA1.

    VCSA3 > register with VCSA1.

I find no 5.5 specific information but what I've read I think it's possible on 5.1. The ' admin - cmd.sh' script does not seem to be present in my 5.5 VCSA however.

    VSphere Documentation Centre

The Server system, a device to vCenter Server vCenter is pre-recorded with the vSphere Client Web inside the unit. To register for another system of vCenter Server with the vSphere Client Web installed as part of a vCenter Server Appliance, you must use the admin-app script from the command line rather than the Web-based administration tool.

vCenter Infrastructure Navigator 5.7 Documentation Center

/usr/lib/VMware-vSphere-client/scripts/Admin-cmd.sh register https://WebClient.mydomain.com:9443 / vsphere client Director of VC.mydomain.com 'CENSORSHIP'

    Thanks for any help.

The admin app is no longer available with vCenter 5.5. If you register all the vCSA to a SSo central, they will all see the place in the web client unique management this SSO Server vCenter.

  • Can I use VMware vSphere Hypervisor™ with vSphere Client?

It's the question next poped upward.

-Can I freely use for my business need VMware vSphere Hypervisor™, and what will be the difference with VMware vSphere Starter Kit?

    and

-Can I use VMware vSphere Hypervisor™ with vSphere Client software for free?

Yes - it is freely permitted, but he he has limits and lack of features compared to the vSphere Essentials kits. Another thing to note is the absence of vCenter Server to manage multiple ESXi hypervisors with the free version. The backup API are, in my opinion, one of the main obstacles to the use of this.

  • vSphere Client Version

I thought we were supposed to be able to host managed low level with a newer version of vSphere, but this is not the behavior I see.

We have a server vCenter 4.0 4.0 guests and autonomous one 5.0 host.
I got vSphere Client installed on my machine and connected to the host 5.0 4.0. I was prompted to install vSphere 5.0. When I tried to connect to one of our 4.0 hosts, I was prompted to install vSphere 4.0 and could not open a session up to what I did. Now, I need to install vSphere Client 5.0 until I can connect to the most recent host again.
    What Miss me?
    Thank you.

that's what it looks like in the folder programs with multiple installed versions.

    Hello group,

I am trying to run a report of inventory using the script below. VMSavvy

    Hello, VMSavvy-

The results you see are due to the 'DefaultVIServerMode' of your PowerCLI instance configuration.  When it is "multiple" and make you a Get - VM, it gets for example, VMS in all connected vCenters.

So you can change your code a couple of different ways in order to get info from both single vCenter.

One way would be to change the location to connect to vCenter servers give - navigate the script block Foreach Connect-VIServer and have simply plug the $vcserver current in this iteration of the Foreach loop.  Then, at the end of the script Foreach block, add a logout-VIServer-confirm: $false to disconnect.  The next iteration through will connect to the following server vCenter.

Another way would be to add the server to the GET setting-* cmdlets.  Thus, for example, the line that gets the VMHosts would change something like:

    ...$intyhosts = Get-VMHost -Server $vcserver | Sort Name...

That tells the cmdlet to contact the vSphere server specified in the request.  Preventing counties apparently duplicate that have seen you.

    How does do for you?

  • vSphere Client 5, easy points...

OK, I'm about to upgrade, one of our LABORATORY from 4,1 to 5 servers.

My question is on the vSphere Client.

You know how if you have multiple versions of ESXi 3.5, 4.0 and 4.1, you must install the different client versions for each different version you have? You will need to hold these asked versions backwards compatibility? Or the vSphere client 5 will be an all in one?

You'll still several versions installed.  When you launch the client determines the version of the host, and then run the appropriate customer.

  • How to check the type of datamodel in case of response data from application of DataByConstraint in the plugin development web vsphere client

Hello, I am new in plugin development web vsphere client.

I need to send multiple DataByConstraintRequest (say A and B data model class) within a class of script simple action. But to handle events of response data, we use

    [ResponseHandler (name = "{com.vmware.data.query.events.DataByConstraintRequest.RESPONSE_ID}")]

    public void onVmListRetrieved (request: DataByConstraintRequest,)

    result: collection ArrayCollection): void {}

The result is an ArrayCollection of MyVmData of the objects collection

    }

Here how should I come to know this result variable is either A or class B data model. (including the result can be a collection of empty array)

In case of DataByModel, we have events in response to the separate data for the data model class, but I couldn't find the same for DataByConstraint.

You can define a unique ID_Demande for each DataByConstraintRequest and check in the response Manager.  'requestId' is a field of the class of basic DataRequest.

  • vSphere client using the name Netbios on ESXi host does not connect using the credentials of a Windows session

I have 3 ESXi 5.5 hosts, all connected to a single server vCenter, where we try to authenticate directly to the host by using the windows logon credentials. I have installation of the Administrators group of ESX and filled with the admin accounts that I want to be able to authenticate to the host. The Netbios name of the domain is tstdomain (for example) where the domain name is tstdomain.com. If I connect directly to a host and check the checkbox 'Use Windows Session Credentials', the vSphere client will default by using the Netbios name of tstdomain\adminusername and the connection will fail indicating that the username and/or password is incorrect. If I enter the domain name of tstdomain.com\adminusername, I am able to connect to the host without error.

Does anyone know how get past that this matter have the vSphere client uses the domain name or to use the Netbios name and connect with the credentials to active directory? I looked by editing the file/etc/hosts and checked that the SPN of the host is correct in active directory with the command hostname setspn - l, with no luck on one. I also tried to change the field of research for the Netbios name of tstdomain rather than the tstdomain.com domain name, also did not work.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions on how to correct the problem.

Seems that this issue was due to a slow network and the connection timeout when you try to talk to the domain controller. I am able to connect with windows creds now, but the connection is very slow. I increased the default period of 30 to 60 seconds to help work around the problem.

  • Virtual machines removed by Vsphere Client always in stock VSphereWebClient

    Hello together,

When I tried on a new system (host 2, 1 iSCII-SAN, Vmware Essentials 5.5) somethings with new virtual machines

and after I created one, it worked but we have seen, wrong operating system.

We therefore decided to stop this machine and delete the San.

This work we don with VSphere Client and evrything seems OK.

This morning we started the first time that our VSpherWebClient and we still see this machine in the inventory list.

We couldn t do something remove our something else, because in WebClient, there is no editable function

and in the VSpehre customer isn´t of the current machine.

    Someone has an idea?

    concerning

    Hi Tim,.

Thanks for all communications, it was useful for me.

Now, I did the solution my way:

I use the unit of Service VCenter and (after duplicate the original files in a folder on the data store)

I started the default configuration wizard.

After the process, I realized all the network settings are correct

and all the things that now works correct.

But it was only for my situation with a Datacenter without existing VMs and a lot of information in the

    inventory.

I m is not sure this solution: a virtual machine on the data store a safe way for VCENTER Server.

Maybe for Cluster HA or DSR it wise, but I think it's very important to have backups from the

    settings and inventory.

Anyway, our system is running, and now that we can begin to move our VM´s.

    best regards and thank you

  • Impossible to connect to vCenter Server 5.5 using the vSphere Client

    Hello

I'm trying to configure VMware Lab home using the link below and I have reached a stage where I need to connect to vCenter Server using the vSphere client.

    http://boerlowie.WordPress.com/2011/12/13/building-the-ultimate-vSphere-lab-part-9-ESXi/

I installed the package of 5.5 full vCenter server using the simple installation option and it includes vCenter server, single sign - on, Webclient vSphere, vCenter server and vCenter Server inventory service. All the the latter is installed on a virtual machine that is running Windows server 2008 R2 guest OS.

Whenever I try to open a session on the vCenter Server uses the vSphere client, one of the following error is displayed.

    1. you do not have the permissions to connect to the server 'vCenter server IP address.

    2. cannot complete the connection incorrect username or password-, this error is visible when I do not specify domain\username domain user name and simply enter the user name.

For the details of the error, please see the screenshots - vSphere_client_1, vSphere_client_2 and vSphere_client_3.

As suggested in the link below, I tried to create an SPN and then set the SPN (Principal of Service name) and the UPN (User Principal name) in the Active Directory identity Source using the web of vSphere client (please see screenshot vSphere_Webclient_2)

    http://vinfrastructure.it/2014/01/issue-in-logging-into-vCenter-server-using-Windows-ad-credentials/

To fix the permission error, I tried to add the domain user to the Administrators group on the server vCenter (see screenshot vSphere_Webclient_1).

However, none of the above-mentioned resolution has worked.

So can someone please help? I am stuck because of this problem and badly need help to move forward.

    Thank you

    AJMAL

Able to connect to the vSphere Client do you use the [email protected] account?

Have you already set up permissions on the server vCenter object?
