Music cd or data cd?

I have always used the CD "music" to create playable and data disks for easy storage. Windows XP Inside Out explicitly stated that the difference was significant. Recently I was informed by the sellers that there is no difference between a CD - R (for data) and a CD - R, identified as a music CD.  I would like to know who is right. Even with the later versions of Windows, the CD "music" is irrelevant?

You can use a CD - R to create each type of disk.  The difference isn't in the drive itself, but how you format.  Similar to a hard drive, you can format with different underlying such as NTFS and FAT32 file systems.  For more practical common uses, user does not need to know or what it is supported - they just store files and open them.  You must only you will use the drive with another system carefully. For example, you need to examine the file system if you take a flash drive between two computers with different operating systems such as Mac and Windows.

The same is true for the CD, but it is not in the drive.  The clerk was right, but to clarify what you always choose questions.  If you burn it to a CD - R using the audio format, the music, it will play in any old CD drive like a car, a Walkman in the 1990s or any stereo.  But if you used the data disc option, it burns the files on the disc, as they are, and only the computers and the latest stereo equipment can read this format and see the files.  A typical car stereo CD player or base would not recognize the disc.  In the same way as other readers, it really only matters if you plan to take this drive to another device/system.

  • Composition of music to listen to my music?

Why is iTunes saying that I need a music subscription and allow data usuage listen to my music as well as having to redownload the songs I already downloaded on my phone?

It is my understanding that you will still have access to your music. The newly developed Apple music app to date has features adapted to new music subscription service (optional) Apple. If it is that you have to 'download' your music pre-paid for your device, which leads me to believe that you have a new phone and need to do a restore of backup or something went wrong by putting your device with iTunes and your music has compromised somehow.

Confirm that music files are still there in your iTunes or a folder of music, and then connect your phone to your computer and manually synchronize your music or download via the cloud. Whatever it is, do not need to register for Apple's music subscription if you do not want it. You will still be able to play the Beats1 Radio free but limited access to the extensive library of Apple Music from music streaming.

Personally, I use a combination of Spotify, Pandora and downloaded music on my computer to get my fix. I think that people sometimes too locked up in ' I have to pay $10 / month, so I can get all the latest and best music, "while in reality, most of us listen to random things anyway, so why not just put a bit of effort in curating your own Spotify, Pandora and personal music playlists and settle for that? All do not have a big budget for additional subscription fees. (end rant, sorry) It's only a few extra clicks here and there to do things as I explained.

  • export the mp3 music

How export music from iTunes on a mac to MP3 so I can play in my car on a memory stick?

There is no command to export as MP3.  You pouvez convert songs using iTunes to create MP3 versions, which are added to your iTunes library.  You can then copy them to the USB flash drive.  Here's one way you can do...

First, go to the general of the iTunes preferences pane.  Click import settings.  The value using the import MP3 encoderSet to the desired sound quality (higher Kbps means larger files of the song).  Click OK (to set the conversion format).

For the next step, it may be easier to create a new playlist in your iTunes library, add all the songs that you want for your car to the playlist.  After the addition of pieces, select this playlist of songs from car , click on any song on the list, then select all (from the menu Edit OR Cmd-A on the keyboard).  With all the songs are on the selected reading list, the menu bar, File-> create a new Version-> create an MP3 Version.  iTunes converts the pieces in MP3 format and adds the MP3 version of the songs to the iTunes library.

NOTE: You now have a second copy of these songs in your iTunes library.  Also, if you have some old songs on iTunes Store purchased (since before the beginning of 2009), they can use DRM (copy protection).  The DRM prevents the conversion of these songs.

To easily find these songs converted, sort your library iTunes music on the Date added column, so that the most recently added pieces appear at the bottom of the list.  All newly converted MP3 songs should be there, listed together.  Create a new playlist called because the MP3 song.  Select converted all the songs at a time and add them to the playlist MP3 car songs .

Go to the MP3 car songs playlist.  You can do a select all from the list, right-click on the selection and uncheck the box for these songs duplicated, if you use the checkmarks to song for things like syncing songs to iPod and iPhone.  To copy songs MP3 files in the USB flash drive, do a select all from the list.  View the key USB flash drive in a window in the Finder (or on the desktop).  Drag the selection of the song from the iTunes to the Finder window window and drop it on the USB flash drive.  The files are copied to the USB flash drive.

  • Limit the visibility of music to the songs offline only?

I use iPhone through my car stereo as a source of music. I could browse and select music stored on the iPhone via the interface of the car.

I now use the Apple music.

I don't listen to music through mobile data. Instead I sync/download albums selected to the iPhone when it is on a Wi - Fi network for offline access with the option "make songs" available offline on client iPhone music.

After turning on iCloud music library on my Mac all my music library is now visible on the iPhone, including songs that have not been uploaded to the device. This makes my unusable configuration.

How can I limit the visibility of the songs to include only songs that have been downloaded to the memory of the iPhone for use in offline mode?

    Thank you!

On the 'My Music' screen, scroll to the top, click on 'Artists' and select only 'offline music' in the menu dropdown. I agree that this is not the most obvious place to put this feature.

  • Location to Siri services do not work.

Hi all. My location to Siri services won't work. If I tell siri to "remind me to check my mail when I'm at work" Siri comes back and say that I need to enable location for reminders services. Then I do. So I try again, and Siri says the same thing... I'll go back and look and of course, services of sites for reminders. I don't know why, he won't be the value "while using the application. Someone at - it happen or know how to fix?

    Hello trp_guru,

Please ask questions about Siri and your location services here question in Apple Support communities. I understand how important it is to have all the features work as expected. Here are the steps that I recommend to get this working again.

The first thing we want to make sure is that all your data is safe. You can perform a backup to iCloud or iTunes. Use this article to help with this: backing up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

Once your data is safe, try to turn off your device, then again on the March. Sometimes, that's all that is needed for connections reset and everything working properly again. This article help from Apple will help you to do: restart your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch. Please do not reset the force, as this is not necessary at this time that your device is not with these symptoms.

If it does not help to solve the problem with Siri and location of services, please open this help from Apple article. If your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch connects to a Wi-Fi network. Check the section still not 'connect?' and look at the instructions to reset the network settings. But I would like that you choose high to reset all the settings. Settings network brings the network settings to factory default. But location-based services can include parameters from other areas. In addition, reset all settings includes reset network settings, so it will cover the two bases in reset. This will reset most of the iPhone settings. When you have completed the process, your iPhone will restart. Despite the fear two-step attention, this does not affect your data. All your music, videos, photos and e-mail accounts will remain in tact, but also any SMS text or iMessages.

If the issue is still not resolved after all this, you will need to restore your device back to the factory via iTunes settings. This option will erase all data on your device. Please ensure that you have your backup is complete before doing this step. We need to use iTunes to perform this step is because we need iTunes to help install a new version of iOS. This section of the help of Apple will help you to make this step: use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore the iPhone, iPad or iPod to factory settings. Please make sure you set the camera as new and don't restore all information from iCloud iTunes backup again.

Once the device is configured as new, you will test to see if Siri and location services are working properly and remain activated. If this problem occurs is more, we know that the problem was with some data on the device or in the version of iOS, which will most likely be saved in your backups. You can make the data manually using iCloud or iTunes, but not restored from the backup that you will bring the problem immediately in. Once you log in iCloud with the same Apple ID you used previously, all your data stored in iCloud will begin restocking on the device. Depending on whether you have a Mac or PC, and the version of iTunes you have, you can use one of these four articles helps to help you get your music and other data back to your device in iTunes:

1 11 iTunes for Mac: connect or disconnect your iPod, iPhone or iPad

2 11 iTunes for Windows: set up sync to iPod, iPhone, or iPad

3 12 iTunes for Mac: iPod, iPhone, or iPad sync

4 12 iTunes for Windows: iPod, iPhone, or iPad sync

Thanks again and have a great rest of your day.

  • loop checking iMessage

My iPod Touch (4th generation) has been disconnected imessage some time ago. I tried logging using my apple and password ID and he took me to a page that asked the address of electronic mail and said 'verification'... then it takes back me to the login page and does not connect me. It is an infinite loop. Help!

    Hello @u_w_i_n,.

Thanks for checking out the communities Support from Apple. I understand how it is important to stay in touch with Messages. Here are a few things to try.

The first thing we want to make sure is that all your data is safe. You can perform a backup to iCloud or iTunes. Use this article to help with this: backing up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

Then, to be sure, there is no problem with your Apple ID, we want to use Safari or another Web browser and connect you to this link: Apple ID: manage your Apple account. A few problems with an Apple ID may not be displayed on an iPod, so all we see is the loop without end or the unit, do not connect. But using a Web browser, it will show if there is an alert, the error message, the secondary question as the need to change your password, or if Apple is locked. If you can connect via Safari or another browser and don't see any of these situations, we can check other parts.

The first thing I would recommend that you try is to turn the iPod, then back again. Sometimes, that's all that is needed to get all the connections reset and everything working properly again. This article help from Apple will help you to do: restart your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch. If this does not help, please check the steps described in this article: If you get an error when you try to activate FaceTime or iMessage.

If you still have questions, do this reset then: If your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch connects to a Wi-Fi network. Use the section titled still not 'connect?' and follow the steps to reset the network settings. This brings the network settings to factory default. Then you can try to connect to the Messages again. If the problem persists after all this, you want to try to connect to another network, Wi - Fi and signing in. Just to help clarify the type of network that you should be, please make sure that you use a wireless network open as your home network. If you connect to a Wi-Fi as a school, work, or other business, the airport, a military base or a hotspot of a network type, it will not work because these types of networks high security and high traffic. They do not have the necessary data back causing problems exactly like the one you are currently experiencing. Also, third parties a protection antivirus, firewall or proxy to hide your identity on the internet can cause problems like this. They do not have to be set up on the computer or iPad either, they can be set up on the router. Some security applications also do, but are called only for security or VPN. There are literally hundreds of these apps, you can install on your iPod that block incoming ports that do not allow this function runs.

The last thing that I would recommend to try is to format your iPod, set it again using iTunes and you try to connect. This option will erase all data on your iPod. Please ensure that you have your backup is complete before doing this step. We need to use iTunes to perform this step is because we need iTunes to help install a new version of the iPod iOS operating system. This article help from Apple will help you to do: use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore the iPhone, iPad or iPod to factory settings.

Once the phone is set up as new, you will test to see if the Messages of sign questions are pass without your personal data on the device. If this isn't the case, we know, it was with some data on the device or in the version of iOS, which will be in you backups. You can make the data manually using iCloud or iTunes, but not restored from the backup that you will bring the problem immediately in. According to the version of iTunes you have and whether you have a Mac or a PC, one of these 4 articles help will help you find your music and other data to iTunes:

1 11 iTunes for Mac: connect or disconnect your iPod, iPhone or iPad

2 11 iTunes for Windows: set up sync to iPod, iPhone, or iPad

3 12 iTunes for Mac: iPod, iPhone, or iPad sync

4 12 iTunes for Windows: iPod, iPhone, or iPad sync

Thanks again and have a great day.

  • Mini Mac doesn't have firewire port to restore my iPod 1st generation

I have a very old iPod (first generation, I think, with 4 buttons below the screen and a scroll wheel).  I want to restore the iPod and erase all my music and other data before giving it away to a computer reuse and recycling instead.  When I try to do with iTunes, I get a message saying that I need to connect with Firewire.  But the firewire on my iPod cable connection does not fit the ports Firewire on my Mac Mini to 2012.  Is there another way to restore?

I have a very old iPod (first generation, I think, with 4 buttons below the screen and a scroll wheel).

It's actually a 3rd gen iPod, if these four buttons are round buttons touch (this orange glow), in a row between the screen and support on wheel.  It has a connector dock, as later iPods, but he charges that a port FireWire, and you must connect to a FireWire port when you perform a restore.

You need to connect it to a computer running iTunes to do a restore.  If your Mac mini has a FireWire port, FireWire 800.  You need an adapter like this one, to convert it to a FireWire 400.

(You must also FireWire to home cable supplied with iPods).

  • I don't know how to play my DVD

Hi, my name Paul and I'm relatively new to computers. I recently bought a Toshiba Satellite Pro that came without a manual second hand. I downloaded as a PDF user's Guide, but the advice he gives do not seem to help. My problem is to get DVD for playback. If I insert a music CD or data it works without problem, but when I insert a DVD it is not detected. When I press the CD/DVD set or DIGITAL AUDIO PLAYS Windows Media Player keys starts but the DVD is not played. The DVD can still be found. What should I do?

    Thanks for your help.

    Paul.

    Hi Paul

you did it that there is a DVD in the system? The front of the CD/DVD says DVD? You see the files on the DVD if you try to open it with Explorer?
If you have a player who say "DVD" on the front, but can not see the content (no not a film, it's a different question of visualization) media, so I'm afraid that there could be a problem with the unit. Reading CD and DVD playback are 2 different things altogether, and might work indipendantly on a unit.

If you can see the content, but does not play the movie, then I guess you have to install a software DVD player. Normally, Windows does not come with decoders for DVD format.

    Best regards

  • Toshiba M30-107 mast * one drive UJ-820 s with burning problems

When I bought the laptop everything was ok, I could burn CD music, cd of data from any application. Now I can only burn CD from iTunes. When you use ITunes, I can use any kind of disc and it works fine. However, when I try to use explore to burn pictures on a disc or video with Windows media player 10, it is said, it does not recognize the drive or he manages not said there is no disk in the drive (when it obviously). Seems odd. I tried just about everything, but it's still only Itunes that works. Someone else has similar problems and how did you get around them?

    Hi André,.

Have you checked that your optical drive is enabled windows before burning. If you right click on the drive in Explorer, there should be a 'Recording' tab click on it and check that the indicated settings are compatible with the set up you.

It is also useful to check for virtual CD drives in Solution Explorer. If you find (other than the real drive) it will be necessary to disable them (right click) because Windows XP supports an optical drive.
