Music folder appears empty

Hey people... got my GF a rocket GB 4 for Christmas, but I want to load it with a bunch of songs before I give him... I've been messing around to see how file names so I transferred to 3 records album... I kept to connect to the computer to test file names to tags right... so a lot of connection / disconnection for the PC... after connections of 20 or more... when I would click on the MUSIC folder... it would show up as EMPTY... and yet when I would play the player... they are always there.

Why the record show the empty? I'm under the latest version of Vista... same thing happened on my Mac this morning... had only a SINGLE file mp3 there... when I plugged my mac shows... it NO file in the music folder.

Since you're using the drive between the PC and the MAC, you must change your settings USB mode to MSC.

The default is Auto, which selects the mode MTP to the Vista Machine and mode MSC for Mac.

You can not see content placed in MTP MSC mode and vice versa.

On the drive, go to settings > system settings > USB Mode > MSC

Then, you will see that the MSC content.

You can delete the content of the PSG first (from Vista) or reformat the drive.

  • Winamp playlists appear empty when the rocket

    Hi all

I see that I'm not the first to this problem, but the solutions that I found doesn't seem to work for me.

When I create a Winamp playlist (latest version) and transfer it to my rocket (new firmware), music and the playlist is transferred as they should.

But when I select the playlist on the "rocket", it says that the playlist is empty.

I have tried different places of the playlist (the root and the /MUSIC folder) but it seems to make no difference what so ever. I even tried to make the playlist on the drive (by Winamp), but no difference.

Can someone explain what looks like the structure of a playlist to WORK and the right place to store the file on the drive .m3u?

    Thank you

    Thank your for your help.

I tried Media Monkey (http://www.mediamonkey.com), and now, everything just works, without needing to do anything manually, or change anything by hand (or by using WAX - great name! )

I could I kick for having recorded WinAmp before discovering Media Monkey. Well, that's life.

  • My Music folder icon continues to change

The My Music folder is supposed to display the icon "note of music in the folder" rather than the regular folder icon.  This is not so for my user profile.  Explorer Windows recognizes the folder in the My Music folder on my profile.  It does not display the correct icon.  I can't change icon in the properties of the folder; the option does not appear for some reason any.  I went in another profile on my computer and record music right click my profile and managed to change the icon.  It worked, but only until the computer is restarted.  The icon of music then returned to a regular folder still once.  I tried using the Microsoft Fix tool that corrects this type of problem, but it could not solve the problem the first time and could not find the question about the second time.  No other profiles on my computer experiencing this same problem; It is just my user account only.  I'm out of ideas.  Does anyone have any other suggestions?

A Format of the Player must solve the problem. WMP & Winamp have nothing to do with this feature, but Windows should be able to do it for you.

For formatting in Windows, turn on your meter USB MSC mode setting in the settings menu. In Windows Explorer, right-click on the drive of your player and select Foormat... from the context menu. Make sure it is set to FAT32 file system and Choose quick format .

Since you have a v1, here is a another way of setting shaped device she (actually tells him to format itself).

Please let us know what you've done up to this point, and if these methods have done anything for your situation.

    Hi David Lister,

    1. What account you're connected to?

    2. what happens when you try to access the folder using a different account?

    3. you receive messages or error codes when access you the folder?

You can try to use the administrator account and try to access the folder.

You can also try to restore the file to the previous version and check if it helps:

Try to restore the files from previous versions.

    a. open the computer by clicking the Start button, click computer.

    b. navigate to the User\Public folder, right click and then click on restore previous versions.

    c. you will see a list of the available versions of previous of the file or folder.

  • Help! Accidentally deleted music folder

Can someone help me please?  I've been a total jerk and delete my music folder - had problems to import iTunes music and managed to remove it from the My Documents folder.

Trouble is, I emptied the trash since then, so I can't retrieve it from there.  Is it possible to restore or replace it?

    Thanks in advance.

    Greetings,

In Windows 7 If you created restore points, the 'previous Versions' of the files and folders can be available. All what you need to do is right-click on the file, your data was in (or the folder above) and chooseProperties -if your music was in the music library, the path to the folder in c:\users\username\My music. Click the Previous Versions tab find a restore date from before the data have disappeared, and then click Open.

What you will see are now called snapshots.  You can copy files or folders from this window to the location you want to have restored to. be sure to close the window when you're finished, so you do not confuse shadow copies with your files/folders. If you look carefully at the address bar, you'll notice that it includes the date and time of the restore and folder names point.

For earlier versions of Windows (and if you have no available restore points), you may need to use using a third party application. There is a free, easy to use, utility called restoration that I recommend. It can be downloaded here: http://download.cnet.com/Restoration/3000-2094_4-10322950.html. It can be used to recover files that seem to have permanently deleted. I used this program many times with excellent results. You'll have best results if you run this program as soon as possible after any accidental deletion.

  • Mysterious mobile folder: Music folder has mysteriously moved into my photo folder

    original title: mysterious movement file

My Music folder mysteriously moved into my image folder and I can't understand why.  The record is on 34gbs so there is no way I could have accidentally moved on mine without noticing.  Anyone has any idea how it happened and what I can do to prevent it from happening again?

You may have accidentally dragged - fell into the photo folder.  Move a folder - even that which is several hundreds of gigabytes - only takes about one second (assuming both are stored on the same drive).  This is because the move operation is really just an update a line to the NTFS file system data table: none of the files are actually "moved" the reader is concerned.  Copy, however, takes time because the reader must actually write every file.

It is most likely.  I would be it back to where you want and see if it happens again.

Alternative: if it's a library and not a folder: you can check to see if your photo library is actually, in fact, just your music folder content aggregation.  You can open your pictures folder, and then click the link "Includes 2 sites" at the top to change what one or more folders appear in the photo library.

If it solves your problem, click on the link "Propose as answer" below and vote as useful by clicking on the green triangle for the lelft. Thank you!

    Hello

Thanks for posting this question in the Microsoft Community.

I'll certainly try and help you get the problem solved. Please provide us with some answers for a better understanding of the issue.

    1. Since when are you facing the issue?

    2 are logged as administrator?

    3. where's the music folder?  Located internal or an external storage device?

    4. do you have an anti-virus installed on the computer program?

    5. are you aware of any recent software or the hardware in the computer changes?

You try to open the file as administrator. Right-click on the file and select run as administrator.

You can also try to launch an online scan and check if that helps.

    Microsoft safety scanner

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

You can also start the computer in safe mode and check if the problem persists. If the problem persists, you can start the computer in a clean boot state, and check if all third-party software may cause the problem. Clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Note: when you are finished troubleshooting, follow step 3, mentioned in the article to start the computer to a normal startup.

Hope this helps and provide us more information if you need more assistance. We will be happy to help.
