Mid 2012 Macbook Pro with or without retinal incredibly slow
Hello, I'm typing this for my mother. It has a mid-2012 Macbook pro without the retina which is very slow. She has recently updated to 16 GB of ram, and we are all pretty sure she did her properly. With cable of HDD to SSD Macbook Pro mid-2012
I've recently upgraded to SSD (Samsung Evo 850) of the HARD drive on my Macbook pro mid-2012. However, the installation of the SSD has been very painful. I tried to use in recovery mode disk utility, several times but it fails to remove or mount the SSD drive. I thought it was the faulty SSD. Then I hung the SSDS via a USB port and proceeded to install OS X on it (using my HARD drive). The SSDS works very well with the USB key, so I put it in and hooked up with the flex cable that was previously used for my HARD drive. However, this does not work, the operating system sees that there is a reader hooked, sees the name, size and etc, but does not charge, gives me the sign of question mark folder, which means there is no hanging drive. So I think it's something with the HARD drive, SATA cable. But the cable works perfectly when used with the HARD disk. So I was wondering if the HARD drive cable that comes with Macbook Pro mid-2012 is compatible with the SSD. I watched several videos of people the SSD HARD drive upgrade, but they all seem to be using the same cable. Any ideas what could be the problem or if I need a different type of cable? Thank you.

Your MacBook is looking for initial start-up by car but can not find.
Power on the Mac and hold down the 'option' at the same time, and then manually select to boot from the drive of choice.
Also, try this first:
I have a MBP mid-2012 13 inches and I did an upgrade SSD with a Samsung Evo 850-series (500 GB.). However, I had no problem.
I used Carbon Copy Cloner to clone the original disc for the SSD via a USB-to-Sata adapter.
My first start was slow because I don't have the SMC / PRAM reset my MBP was looking for startup disk.
However after my MBP starts very quickly. I got no problem with Samsung Evo SSD. They work very well with Macs.
Don't forget to activate the "pad" your non - owc SSD support.
Open "terminal app" and enter the command 'sudo trimforce activate' select YES, YES... and restart after completing

MacBook Pro(MID-2012):Issues after Upgrading to El Capitan
I use Macbook Pro mid-2012 version. After upgrading to El Capitan, I am facing a lot of questions.
(1) the DMG files does not open. said hdiutil attach has busy resource failed.
(2) my Macbook Pro will not stop completely.
(3) my systems updates install completely. They hit each other between installation (had to force quit)
' (4) ' about this Mac ' gets hit when trying to access storage tab.
Any suggestions?

All of a sudden c. slow Macbook Pro mid 2012

A few days ago, my MacBook Pro (13-inch, mid 2012) began to slow all of a sudden, often due to frequent beachballing of the cursor. I've had it three years now, and he never ran so slow. So it seems that you need to develop your ram on this model because your running a lot of things at once, or the system is spent as you have used. Its pretty easy to install new ram on your template as well.
Your computer can be upgraded to 16 GB of ram on this model. There are several kits out there to buy for this as well with. Let me know if you need help.

I have everything backed up on Time Machine. Are there steps of preparation I need to do before you download and upgrade to Sierra. Can you please advise me please?

MacBook Pro (mid-2012) freezes when the lid closes

Do not start (El Capitan, mid 2012 Macbook Pro)
Hi all!
I'm having serious problems with my Unibody Macbook Pro mid 2012 since a few days ago.
On Sunday, all of a sudden the computer really slow and G.Chrome used a lot of CPU, so I rebooted the machine, but on reboot, I couldn't get the operating system to start. I kept getting a white screen with the circle-slash (prohibitory sign) and a file of o Apple logo with the question mark that would Flash briefly before returning to the slash of circle.
After leaving the computer alone for half an hour, it starts without a problem. I rebooted again to see if the problem disappeared, but he returned to the circle-slash.
I tried the resets of LANDAU and SMC but no result. I couldn't enter Recovery Mode (via CMD + R, because he just left me a white screen). I got the computer to reboot again and ran first aid to disk on the disk and partition utility and I got a message that says that there is only a problem with the map of partition with could prevent from starting.So, I downloaded El Capitan on the App store, is an installation of the flash player program, reformatted the whole drive and reinstalled the operating system but I always get the slash circle approximately 85% of the time and cannot set the Mode of recovery without the flash player. Also, I can't access Single User Mode (CMD + S) I get an error that says something about a problem loading the kernel cache.
In summary: when the operating system loads (15% of the time), it works well; but can not access the Recovery Mode in single user Mode.
What are my options?
Here are the instructions from Apple for your splash screen:
Your HARD drive may also be suspect or the connection with it. Try to access the Internet, OPTION-COMMAND-R recovery on startup. Then run disk utility > first aid.

Mid 2012 Macbook pro with 2 monitors generic?
I have a 15 inch mid 2012 Macbook pro (the one with an optical drive), there a mini-Display port and a firewire port. I have a few spare Dell monitors and I want to set up two monitors to it. I know there is a DVD-I or VGA adapter mini-Display, but I can't find something-> firewire. Is what I'm trying to do possible?

MacBook Pro mid 2012 very large Cache
Hello everyone
I own a Macbook Pro mid-2012, I swapped the stock 500 GB for a 256 GB SSD drive. My storage became full so I downloaded omnidisksweeper, after the execution of this program, I discovered that a Cache folder is over 100 GB in size. Is there a reason why it is so big and is it safe to remove it or not? I've also attached a screenshot of omnidisksweeper for your reference. Thanks in advance.
In Safari - Preferences - check the box to develop
Then go back and clear the cache (option + Cmd + E)
Restart the computer
See if this reduces the size of the cache that you see

Storage space on MacBook Pro (mid-2012) is not reduced
I recently deleted files from a mid 2012 MacBook Pro but the space where I deleted the files not reduced in spite of emptying the trash.

What is the source that you want to determine how much space you use on your HARD drive? If it is the view of the ABOUT THIS MAC, it is not to be trusted. There is a bug in the program.
Download the Internet OmniDiskSweeper and Grand Perspective (both free) and open them. They will show all your files and respective sizes. This should allow you to determine which files to remove or disable charge it to an external HARD drive.
Don't forget to empty the trash. Then only the space is allocated for the new data.
