I just bought an Officejet 8500 a more printer,.

It does not detect my router Linksys (WPA), all the other networks in this area are visible, except our Linksys router, with WPA security.

    Help?

    Here are some tips:

    1. ensure that 802.11 g is present.  Other modes (such as 802.11n) wireless are OK, but g must be present.

2 broadcasting your SSID and don't use MAC filtering.

    3. make sure that your router has the latest firmware.

  • Unable to connect to the Internet through a Linksys router Vista Satellite L300

    Hello guys,.

I hope someone can help me.

I tried to configure connect wireless to the internet using my new laptop. I used the wizard to set up the connection and he found my linksys router and it binds with it very well. Then when he tries to test the internet connection, it will just say error. I have not had this problem before and I'm a bit confused. When I thrn try to access a web page, I just get "Page cannot be displayed". I have troubleshooted and tried to reset the router, cable modem and laptop with no luck.

Please could someone help with this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hello

To my knowledge, the router first with the data from your ISP.

If done correctly, you should be able to connect to internet via LAN cable.
Did you check that first? Do this!

So if you can properly connect to internet via LAN cable, I would recommend set up the WiFi network on the router.
There is a will to put the SSID (name of the WLan) encryption settings, MAC address filtering, firewall, etc.

If these settings have been configured correctly, then you could try to configure WLan settings on your laptop!

  • While trying to install a Linksys E1500 he repeats that my computer is not connected to the router.

    Computer problems and the router

I have a windows xp 2002 with service Pack 3. While trying to install a Linksys E1500 he repeats that my computer is not connected to the router. Ive tried a new cable and it does not solve the problem. He also said that my computer does not have wireless capabilities. Any suggestions?

You'll be much more likely to get useful (or even possible) suggestions if you provide the full text of the error messages you get, without paraphrasing.

    For example:

He repeated to me that my computer is not connected to the router. --> What is the real error message?

He also said that my computer lacks wireless capabilities--> what is the error message itself?

You are "trying to connect via a cable" to the router or you're talking about your Internet service (for example, the router is connected to the Internet via a cable)?

You think that your computer has "wireless capabilities?  Open the Device Manager (start > run > devmgmt.msc > OK), then click on the + sign next to "network adapters."  Please provide the names of any devices listed there.

Is your computer without a name, a laptop?  There a name of brand anywhere (for example, Toshiba, HP, Dell, etc.)?

Open System Properties (start > run > msinfo32 > OK)
    Click Edit > select all
    Click Edit > copy
Right-click in your response here and select Paste
Be sure to hide the "System name" or "User Name" if it makes you feel better, but please do not remove anything else.

  • Problem connecting a switch to a Linksys router.

    Hello

I need a little help and I looked for a solution and tried some of the different proposals on other threads and nothing seems to work.  I have a Linksys WRT310N router wireless (most of the settings are enabled by default) connected to a cable modem.  The House I live in is connected through this router.  In my living room, I have a home theater setup where I want to connect several devices like an xbox, PS3, a media center and so on.  To do this, I placed a netgear gigabit switch in the living room to connect the devices.  Unfortunately, none of the devices can connect to the internet through the switch.  If I connect them directly to the wall jack in the living room (which is connected to the router), they work fine.  It's only when I add the switch in there that they do not work.  I tried to leave a port open on the button beside that I connect to the router, but who don't seem to have any effect.  I even exchanged the switch out for a brand new and it has the same way.  Is there a setting on the router I have to change to make it work?

Some additional information: it is a switch 8 ports with no uplink port.  When I plug in the devices, the lights on a blink switch show me that there was a link with them.  I called Netgear customer service and check that the switch is functioning properly.  When I connected a laptop computer, he could see other devices on the switch, but he was not able to connect to the router.  I think it may need a crossover cable, but I read that it is no longer necessary.

Any help is greatly appreciated.  Thank you

No, the switch is transparent.  If you connect a device on the switch, it still does not?

  • Can someone help me to establish a wireless connection with an Android Cruz Tablet and a Linksys router?

I have a Linksys WRT54G2 V1 and received a Velocity Cruz T301 and cannot figure out how to configure this wireless, I don't have the cd or the manual that is supposed to come with her. Any ideas on how to solve this problem? I've got Linksys plugged into my desktop ok, but when I try to access the installation page that says let him the empty user name and use admin as password should it take me to the installation site. That is not the case, that is to say invalid.

Tablet turns on fine and shows different connections wireless with little locks on them. The 1st time I tried to set up a connection, he showed with others, but it has a lock on it and wants to know the password. He used the name of my computer not the Linksys.

My computer is hooked on one of the 4 ports and says that I have excellent connections. There is a Linksys right below that, but he said connection is bad. It is not locked, but is not strong enough to get even on the tablet of the Cruz connection.

Now I know why I've always had wired connections, cause it makes me crazy. If anyone can help I'd be very happy. If only I could get across to the top of page the things would be very different, I'm sure, but it is just let me access it. I tried 3 different browsers. My computer Windows Vista on a Dell vostro 220 desktop is connected to the Linksys router and works fine.

  • Linksys Router WRT160N - Wireless does not connect to the cable modem

I installed the Linksys WRT160n router to replace an existing G router. When installed the new wireless router works, but the router does not receive a connection (IP address - look under status) of the cable modem (so no internet). When I reconnect the old router and then connect the new router, I get any internet connection through two routers (so the old dishes router the IP address that accepts the new router).

I have configured the router N new for

"Automatic configuration - DHCP", no need for connection, IP address dynamic, etc (as required by ISP - Timewarner)

I tried to renewal and release IP address by the router N when it is connected directly to the main switch (the switch to connect to the cable modem). In so doing, shouldn't that assign a new IP address to the router?

I am allowed 3 IPs from the cable company (because of the switch) and I use all three with three different internet IP cameras to each address for home security system.

Any suggestions on why the router is not connecting to the internet? Do I need to reboot physically everything on the network, including the cable modem?

If I understand your post, you said that your ISP gives you 3 Internet IP addresses and you have 3 cameras that use one of these Internet IP addresses.  If this is correct, then that leaves no IP Internet address for your WRT160N use - so that would explain why your WRT160N cannot get an Internet connection.

If I misread your post, and you have an Internet IP address available for the WRT160N, you might have a problem with your modem and two WRT160N tries to use the same 192.168.1.x subnet.  To check this, follow these steps:

    (1) Please indicate addresses that use your cameras (IE before you take the test below).  If the addresses do not begin with 192.168, then erase the last half of each address.

    (2) Please indicate your ISP

    (3) Please indicate the make and exact model of your modem (not the WRT160N) number.

    (4) Please do the following test:

Put your entire network.  Disconnect the switch (including cameras) to the modem.  Using an ethernet cable, connect your modem directly to your computer.  (Do not use the WRT160N for this test).  Turn on the modem and the computer.  Make sure you have an active Internet connection, then go ahead with what follows: (even if your Internet connection does not work, include this and move forward.)

Go to 'Start' > all programs > Accessories > command prompt.
A black DOS window will appear. Type "ipconfig/all" (with no quotes), and press the Enter key.   Copy all results in your next post.  To make the copy, highlight the results, and then use the keys copy (Ctrl-c) and paste (Ctrl-v) keys.  If your "IP address" does not begin with 192.168, then for security reasons, delete the latter half of your IP address.

  • Request for Pin wireless connecting to a linksys router

I want to heck the feature in windows vista that asking to enter a PIN instead of simply asking for my shared key of wireless wpa. Can someone tell me please how to disable this feature in windows vista.

The possibility of using a PIN instead of a password for wireless is on the router, not the computer . Go to the Linksys configuration utility and disable the PIN requirement wireless has from there. This is general information about implementing a secure wireless network, which includes how to enter the configuration of the Linksys utility.

Have a computer connected to the router with an ethernet cable. Examples given are for a Linksys router. See the manual of your router or the router mftr's Web site. for the parameters by default if you don't have a Linksys. Open a browser such as Internet Explorer or Firefox and in the address bar type:

http://192.168.1.1 [Enter] (it is default IP address of the router, which varies from router to router then check your manual)

This will bring you to the login screen of the router. The default username is blank and the Linksys default password is "admin" without the quotes. Enter this information. You are now in the configuration of the router utility. Your configuration utility may be slightly different from mine. The first thing to do is to change the default password because * all * known default passwords for different routers.

Click the Administration link at the top of the page. Enter your new password. MAKE A NOTE SOMEWHERE THAT YOU WILL NOT LOSE. Re-enter the password to confirm it, and then click Save settings at the bottom of the page. The router will reboot and show you the box of connection again. Do not fill in the user name and put it in your new password to enter the configuration utility.

Now, click on the link wireless at the top of the page. Change the network name (SSID) wireless by default to something, you'll recognize. I suggest that my clients not use their surname as the SSID. For example, you might want to name your network wireless network "CastleAnthrax" or similar. ;-)

Click on save settings and when you get the prompt that your changes were successful, click the wireless security link which is just beside the Basic Wireless Settings link (where you changed your SSID). Most computers purchased during the last 4 years have the wireless hardware that will support WPA2-Personal (also known as WPA2-PSK). This is the desired encryption level. If your wireless hardware is older, use WPA. Don't use WEP, because who is easily broken within minutes. So go ahead and set the Security Mode WPA2-Personal. Do this and enter a password. For example, you could use the password ' here be dragons, beware you scurvy dogs! The password is what you enter on all computers that are allowed to connect to the wireless network. MAKE A NOTE SOMEWHERE THAT YOU WILL NOT LOSE.

At this point, your router is set up and if the computer that you use to configure the router will normally connect wireless, disconnect the ethernet cable and wireless of the computer should see your new network. Enter the password that you have created (exactly as you wrote it with all capital letters and punctuation) to join the network and start surfing.

  • Windows Vista Home Basic Edition, Acer laptop wireless, Linksys router and connect Lexmark X 9350 wireless network.

I'm tired... I tried everything I can think of, as well as everything I can find online in order to connect my printer Lexmark X 9350 WiFi for my Acer laptop which is connected to my home network wireless via my linksys router. At the same time, the printer has been set up through my existing wireless network and was working properly. (FOR A SINGLE DAY!) Then I got the bright idea to installNorton Anti Virus Security. Since then, my printer stopped working through the wireless network. It works as a stand-alone Copier and fax machine, but nothing of the printer.  I contacted Lexmark via online support, but their suggestions did not work or were so confusing that it would take a computer technology to interpret the instructions to correct the problem. I learned more about the Wi - Fi networks and computer by trial and error, I should be able to re - connect my printer the eyes bandaged.  Help, please... This problem is ongoing for weeks. Thank you so much in advance.

Just a thought, as you say it started with Norton check his firewall exceptions:

Have a read of the link above re Vista file and printer sharing.

Permissions/Share info is there as well.

If you use Norton, make that file and printer sharing is enabled in THE Firewall (or LAN enabled, depending on how their Exceptions are formulated in their firewall)
