• LR detects the wrong lens when importing

  Before it worked perfectly, but with the last update (version of Lightroom: CC 2015.3) LR detects the lens bad for my SIGMA 50mm F1.4 DG HSM objective Art saying I shot with a Zeiss Milvus 1.4/50 ZE. I'm sure it's a great lens, but since I don't own and often search on the lens I've shot with the base, this little quirk is annoying and embarrassing. (Images made with my SIGMA 50 mm F1.4 before now just update to show the "50mm (50mm)".) Bug? Anything I can fix it without going through thousands of images one by one?

  Since it is a forum for users and staff Adobe chimes in occasionally, no one will be able to answer your question.

  In general, objectives Sigma are added rather quick so it could be added with the next version of 4.2. You must therefore wait or create a profile of yourself.

• A77II development and adjustment repair

  I have a Sony a77II I have owned for about two years.  I probably take more photos than most of the people with me 3000 photos of shooting an Inline skating meeting each month and meet 7000 at a national or regional level.  In short, I take lots of photos.  Most of the time, I use a Sigma 70-200 2.8 lens or a lens Sony 16-50 2.8.  Even if I have some, these get about 95 percent of employment.  Meat last National Championship in Atlants, I noticed a few oddities in the pictures that I took.  Having set up the camera with a lens ot the other, it seems that I can get good, clear and bright photos and then without reason, without changing the settings of the camera, I started a little out of focus pictures.  This has happened with both lenses. Now, I'll be the first to say that I'm not a professional photographer.  As he says well, I take lots of photos.  I was wondering if the camers is tired and needs to be repaired or something or maybe the lenses are tired with their age and use and wear.  I am at a loss to know if I ask the experts!

  Sorry to hear about the situation and that you get error messages when you use the camera. You can try to solve the problem by doing a power reset. Please, turn off the power and remove the battery. The camera for 30 seconds. Disable so new and reinsert the battery. Check whether the problem is resolved.

• 2015.4 Lightroom does not solve my files incorrectly identified as Zeiss Milvus 1.4/50 ZE (should be the Sigma 50 mm f/1.4 Art)

  So I have all these files that I've taken with the Sigma 50 mm f/1.4 Art think LR were taken with the Mivus Zeiss 50. I was hoping that the update should fix but apparently not. If I select a file and click on metadata > read metadata from the file, then it will simply update it to "50mm" but it resets all my editing. What type of solution is it? What now? I want these files already taken to be labeled correctly, but I don't want to lose the changes.  Thank you.

  Ok. I didn't know that you were working in the library module.

  "50mm" is the tag EXIF lens written by the camera for the SIGMA and the Zeiss 50 mm f/1.4 lenses. Usually, we leave these data EXIF alone unless a manufacturer of lenses she asks be overridden. This is the case with the Zeiss Milvus glasses.

  The original bug is fixed (i.e. you will not see this with newly imported or non edited images), but as you have discovered, after making a change to an image in LR, the lens name is committed to the change data image in LR, until you recover the changes to the image. The reason why you lose your changes when you choose to read the metadata of the file are because LR is crush the image change the data in the catalogue with the xmp disk data. In this case, it is probably not a sidecar xmp LR replaces the current changes with what is essentially an empty file. It is similar to hit Reset in the develop module.

  There is a way to manage this scenario (retroactively setting the name of the goal), but it will require changes in the code and will be available in the next version of LR. Unfortunately I don't have a timeline on when this will be. I follow on this thread once I am sure that this issue has been addressed.

  Adobe does not release dates announce new profiles. You can however, except that the next minor version update after the release of the lens will give profile to LR.

  If you are serious about on the side of the fauna of it think the Canon 100-400 L IS lens, or even the Sigma 50-500 OS (kinda big & heavy for hand holding a large part) and read existing threads on the 100-400 & the 400 f5.6. It is a much better scope for wildlife that only 300 mm. You should also consider a good Macro lens for near work place that is not something I do, I'll let the others he made recommendations.

  You can always use PLR (3 or 4) as your RAW converter when you use a Sigma lens. You just won't be able to use the digital objective Optimizer (DLO of Canon) on these files. DLO only supports Canon lenses.

  RawTherapee is a free RAW converter that should work with your 70 d, however I would recommend a few stick with DPP, if you do not need a correction of the lens. FWIW, I don't know if RawTherapee has lens correction or not in all cases.

• 70. sigma - live display problem lens

  Don't know if anyone has experienced the problem I have at the moment, but I would be interested to receive feedback.

  Camera is 70 d and the lens is a Sigma 17-70 f2.8 to 4.5. If I use live view and touch the screen to focus the lens focuses fine and looks sharp on the screen. Can I enlarge the area of focus for more precision and all looks ok. However, when I press the button at halfway to win the lens memory moves back and forth as memorization of the normal search. Then the camera will beep and the place turns green lock confirmation.

  This is that the image is actually at the point when the squre turns green. If I release the button of the system auto focus continuous finds new clear focus, but when I press the button again to half way down it crashes again out of focus.

  Incidentally the lens works very well in AF mode in the viewfinder

  It is not worth.  Forget about it, and use it as what or buy a lens that is compatible with your device.

  I see my exact Sigma lens profile in my Lr 5.7.1 record (SIGMA 150-600 mm F5-6. 3 DG OS HSM C015)-RAW.lcp)- but it's as an option in the dropdown of my Module development lens Corrections unselectable.

  I see it in C:\ProgramData\Adobe\CameraRaw\LensProfiles\1.0\Sigma\Canon

  Sigma Sport version is just next to it in the folder - and it's the only one I can see and select, its name is the same direction except the last part of names p014

  How can I make MY selectable lens in the drop-down list?
