  You can go for Expert UI, much more control on the panels: check the option «Enable custom workspaces...» "in preferences, General settings.

• iBooks for iMac will not open old books

Try to start one of these options just brings me back to restart it even safe mode. (Does restart any mode). I tried f8 and I donot have the repair option. In the start-up/safe screen, it says use my drive to repair, but laptop was bought with windows already not downloaded so no disc.   d. click utility troubleshooting network to run the troubleshooter.

  Method 2: If you use a proxy connection, then try to disable the proxy and then check if the problem persists.

  c. click on the Connections taband then click LAN settings
  d. uncheck it Server Proxy use.
  e. click on apply then Ok to save the changes.

  Now, check if you can access store.
