  I am using the slider (aSlider) to control the volume for mySound, which is a class called PlaySound. Created an addEventListener for aSlider with an execution of a function called changeVolume SlideEvent.CHANGE. All other works, but I can't get the cursor to control the volume for mySound. • That gray box that indicates the volume (not the slider) does not, either made the caps lock notification.

• HP Pavilion dv7-3170ez: volume indicator not showing when the volume control

  I own a Pavilion dv7-3170ez and when I change the volume using the slider button in the volume on top of the keyboard, the volume is adjusted accordingly, but no volume indicator appears on the display.

  Previously, when you adjust the volume, a speaker icon with a cursor jumped in the middle of the screen showing the current volume level.

  I use Windows 7 Home Premium and Windows Update and HP update shows that I have the latest version of the software. Also, I have the latest version of the BIOS installed.

  Note: the touch buttons on top (volume, speaker and enable wireless, etc) stopped working a few days after the disappearance of the sound meter, I have fixed that by connecting battery power and disconnectiong for awhile. However, the indicator is still not displayed. Don't know if this is related (I guess not).

  the problem is caused by Apple update for HP Printer Drivers Version 2.7.

  This isn't the only failure in this package. (I'm not sure if it's great to use this same update for Mac OS 10.6 and 10.7).

  Of course to restore the folder 'hp' in/library/printers/to using Time Machine should solve the problem.

  Clearer to solve the problem is to do following steps:

  -Remove from the list of printers HP printers (System Preferences > print and fax (MacOS 10.6) / print and scan (Mac OS 10.7))

  -Move the entire folder "hp" / Library/Printers/in trash

  -Download and install HP drivers Update Version 2.6 from the following link:

  I have a race HPE - 477c 64 bit Win 7. whenever I restart my PC, the volume control slider (Realtek High definition Audio Mixer) is zero.   After re-booting, I adjust the volumn cursor at halfway, but next time I reload is at a minimum.  Y at - it a fix for this?

  It's weird. I don't think I've seen this problem before. Obviously some audio software evolves your volume at startup or Windows is not "remember" where you set before closing. You can try to update to the latest driver from Realtek audio driver. Here is a link to their download site:

  Select "High Definition Audio Codecs", accept the agreement and then download and install the driver for your operating system.
