My Compaq Presario SR2150NX supports a 1 TB SATA HDD?

My 120 GB SATA HD original died.  I reinstalled Windows Vista Home Basic - Home Edition 6.00.6000 with recovery disc on a 1 TB SATA hard drive.  However, when I do a scan PC Wizard on my computer, it lists the HD as a hard disk of 1 TB ATA (SATA no).  Why?  It seems to work very well, but can be fulfilling best if she runs as a SATA?

Also, I would like to install a secondary hard drive 2 TB SATA for extra storage.  This motherboard will it take?

It is my first time posting here. so I hope that I followed all appropriate guidelines.

Hello:

There would be a way to install the AHCI controller now and then reboot into BIOS and change the setting to AHCI. But unfortunately, I don't know how to do this with an Intel based chipset.

I don't know what AMD SATA AHCI controller you have, so I can't help there.

I agree with Frank that you see much of the performance by changing the gain setting.

However, I personally would do it only because it is preferred with a SATA setting if it is available.

In the current mode of the IDE:

1. your data transfer speed will be limited to the report wizard PC of UDMA Mode 6.

However, your drive is capable of transferring data at a rate of 3.0 GB/S in AHCI mode.

2. your drive is unable to take advantage of the Native Command Queuing, which is available in AHCI mode.

http://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/Native_Command_Queuing

So, unless you have gone far in your new OS install with lots of updates, installed all of your other programs and files, etc., and it would take you hours of work again, so I firstly, change the setting from AHCI BIOS and have a go at it again.

Sure! The support agent has confirmed what I had read.

If your laptop has the installed memory modules. DDR2 more images of modules soDimm DDR2

and you try to put these. DDR3 soDIMM slots in more images of the soDimm DDR3 modules

I believe that a picture is worth a thousand words in this case.

  • How much RAM my compaq presario c770 support? Or, which will support the card mother hp 30 d 9?

My operating system is 32-bit windows vista Home premium. I am aware that a 32-bit system supports up to 4 GB of RAM.  I really just need to know what motherboard 'Hewlett-Packard 30 9' support at best.  I already have 2 GB of RAM and I just want to know if it would be useful to try to add more. I also know what products are available in order to not give me links to stores.  The type of RAM installed is DDR2, if it is important in the determination of the effective maximum RAM.  The girl has some age on it so my warranty is out, which means apparently no support by email at hp, the tails.  I recently did a factory restore and improved my battery, I'm just kind of see how I can make my portable 2008 work so suggestions on my particular computer are welcome. Thanks in advance.

  • Compaq presario v6700

I would like to know if this product compaq presario v6700 supports SSDS? & What kind of ram support? coz im intend to upgrade

A SATA SSD drive will work, but I recommend that you use SATA or SATA2 and SATA3 not for greater compatibility.

For RAM just to a search on the web with Compaq v6700 memory upgrade under the search terms. Buy only from companies that sell are guaranteed compatible memory. Don't forget that your laptop "supports up to 4 GB of RAM". This means no 8 GB of installed memory.

  • Compaq Presario CQ60-210US lab: the laptop Compaq Presario CQ60-210US does support Windows 7 64-bit OS

Hello.  I know for my brother, if his Compaq Presario CQ60-210US laptop that is running Vista 32-bit operating system, can be upgraded to a 64-bit version/edition of Windows 7, 8.1/8 or 10?   As stated, the laptop OS is Vista 32 bit, and I think that's Vista Home Premium, but I'm not sure.  It has 4 GB of RAM, which is the maximum for a 32 bit OS.   I realize that you can do an upgrade on the spot of a 32-bit operating system to a 64-bit OS and it will take a clean install, but nobody knows if material of this laptop, BIOS etc supports 64-bit operating systems?

    Thank you.

    Hello

It is my opinion, to you, you can run 64-bit or 32-bit. Sogtware much still run as 32-bit anyway.

  • What is the maximum RAM for each location dimm can support for desktop computers Compaq Presario CQ3541L?

I have a 32-bit ubuntu 12.04 OS installed on Compaq Presario CQ3541L desktop PC. Now, I want to update higher along 64-bit ubuntu 12.04 OS memory RAM. I want to know what is the maximum size of the main memory that each DIMM DDR3 slot can support. I need at least 8 GB of RAM since the apps I run will consume as much as 6.5 GB and probably more.

    Thank you.

Yes, that's the conclusion I came to.  You can always try to see what is actually happening.  I had a different motherboard (again a HP) which had similar limitations except his max was total 2 GB, and he saw 4 GB very well.   They make a slightly different version of this Board with 4 memory locations, instead of both yours has, then who knows until you experimant.

  • which processors can take a motherboard supported very 4101p (494035-001) jal50 used on compaq presario cq40?

I have a compaq presario cq40-142tu, with a celeron t1600 installed. I want to replace this with a faster processor but can't find a site that lists all the processors that are compatible with the motherboard, which is a worm of 4101P jal50 1 or 494035-001.  as the celeron t1600 has a front side bus at 667 mhz, I guess procies upgrade as possible would be a t7600 to better or at least a t5500, since these procies run at the fsb even.  any advice on where to find a list of processors supported for this motherboard would be much appreciated.

It took some time, but I finally got my hands on a t5850.  Installed and it works like a charm! a celeron t1600 it is now on a core 2 duo procie.  also improved the hard disk in the series hitachi 160 GB 5400 RPM to a 640 GB 7200 RPM samsung. also changed the RAM of 2 GB (1x2Go) tech of micron for gskill 4 GB (2x2gb) RAM.  OS is win 7 ultimate 64-bit, standard was vista 32.  one thing I noticed, though. the Rams are running at 667 mhz even though they are valued at 800, and I have absolutely no idea on how to change this. Publication of the research on some more and I think that the jury can also support 800 mhz fsb procies, might try that also later on. So far I am very satisfied with the improvement. Oh, to be on the safe side, be sure to upgrade to the latest version of the bios. mine was initially f.14, not f66a. problem solved!

  • Compaq Presario CQ56-110US: Will Compaq CQ56 8 GB RAM support?

According to the Compaq Presario Maintenance and Service of Guide matrix on page 2 (http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02657369), my Compaq Presario CQ56-110US laptop supports up to 8 GB of system memory, but by following a few lines to the bottom of the guide, it lists the configuration information that tops out at a total of 4 GB. If I remove the 2 existing memory chips (1 GB each) and install two 4GB chips, my laptop will support the upgrade to 8 GB?

    Thank you

    Hello:

Unfortunately, your model will not support 2 x 4 GB of memory.

This is because it is equipped with an Intel Celeron processor, your laptop is the chipset Mobile Intel GL-40.

This chipset only supports a maximum of 2 x 2 GB memory.

    http://Ark.Intel.com/products/35501/Intel-82GL40-graphics-and-memory-controller-hub

By the way... 2 x 4 GB memory DDR2 would cost a lot of money.  It was the cheapest I could find.

  • Compaq presario cq60-212us: which SATA revision is supported?

Hello. I'm looking to upgrade my hard drive and weighing various options. I need to know the data transfer speed of the Compaq Presario CQ60-212US limits and who review SATA, it supports. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The manual says it's mcp77. The mcp78 can be configured with DDR2 or DDR3, but the slot dictates how memory can be installed and yours is DDR2. On Sisoft go to physical discs/transfer Modes and active transfer Modes Support and providing information on the controller.

  • CQ57-425ER: Compaq Presario CQ57 does support UEFI?

I have Compaq Presario CQ57-425ER and you want to use Windows 8.1 GPT disk. I made a bootable USB key with Rufus (TPG-UEFI chosen option), but my laptop can not boot from the flash drive. There is a message - no boot device. Among the drivers for my laptop, I found an environment to help HP Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI).  Here is a description: ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp55001-55500/sp55477.html. I found 2 interesting points in this description: supports GPT disks and provides support for the installation of the UEFI System Partition. I tried to run this flash with windows on another laptop and it works fine. But in my laptop, I always get the message that there is no bootable media. Yes, there is a support of UEFI in CQ57? And if so, what should I do?

    Hello

This model of PC has limited support for Windows 8/8.1.  It does not support the GPT or UEFI 2.3.1 or later version.  It is the MBR only.

  • Compaq Presario CQ71-320SA: failure of the update of the BIOS via Support Assistant / should I update anyway?

This morning I found that my laptop had not finished closing 8 hours ago. I stopped by pressing the button Off for 6 seconds and restarted. I then looked a likely cause and saw that a BIOS problem was probably the cause.

I'm went to the site of HP support & with information about http://support.hp.com/gb-en/document/c00007682, I followed step 1 and I saw that my BIOS is F.11 21/08/2009.

Support site told me that I need F.11Rev1/20/10/2014. I installed, rebooted and saw that he had failed.

What's worse, is that the program Insyde update it says that the 2009 version is updated - see below.

More old Compaq Presario CQ71-320SA screwed up by free upgrade from Microsoft of Win7 for Win10

    Hello

You can manually update the BIOS for your laptop by downloading from the link below:

The current version available is F.23

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp51501-52000/sp51527.exe

Once the download is complete, double-click the downloaded file and follow the instructions on the screen.

You will notice may-continuous display blank for a few seconds, which is quite normal. Once the update is actually the device automatically restarts.

Note to back up your data before performing the update. Also have your adapter connected to the laptop.

I went in a chain retailer and I noticed the Compaq Presario CQ41 was running Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit, but had 4 GB of RAM installed (which he could not fully use). The stafff I asked why and they said HP/Compaq laptops cannot run 64-bit.

The Compaq Presario CQ41 does support 64-bit so it can used the entire 4 GB of ram?

The Compaq Presario CQ41 will also support a 64-bit Windows 7 operating system.
