blue screen help

Click Start, go to my computer and select your primary hard drive (probably c :))
Find your Windows folder (for example, Windows NT). Double click on that, then look for the Minidump folder. Open that and you will see the minidump files.
Right-click on the first and select send to and in pop out menu select compressed (zipped folder).
This creates a ZIP file version. If there is more than one dump file, repeat this step for each of the dump files.
You can then attach these ZIP files to your next post.

    Hi KarenSellers,

-What is the exact and complete verbatim of the error message that you receive? Thanks for mentioning the same thing with the error code that is displayed with the blue screen.

Method 1: Try to start your computer in Mode safe mode and check if Windows loads successfully.

Safe mode starts Windows with a limited set of files and drivers. Startup programs do not work in safe mode, and only the basic drivers needed to start Windows are installed.

Check out this link to do the same thing:

Method 2: Use the Windows Memory Diagnostic tool to check if there is an error with the memory.

    Separated from this thread.

    Hello

I have a toshiba satellite c870. When I turned on my computer, I got a blue screen by reading the following:

    (blue screen)

    : (

Your PC has encountered a problem and needs to restart. We are only collecting the error information, and then we'll restart for you. (100% complete)

If you want more information, you can later search online for this error: MEMORY_MANAGEMENT.

Then it restarts and I get these 2 following errors of switching back and forth between the two sound tempting to prepare auto repair. See below:

    (blue screen)

    : (

Your PC has encountered a problem and needs to restart. We will provide for you.

If you want to learn more, you can search online later to this error: NTFS_FILE_SYSTEM

Then he goes to the black Toshiba Logo screen as usual and reads the following:

    preparation auto repair...

And then it goes to another screen blue read the following error message:

    (blue screen)

    : (

Your PC has encountered a problem and needs to restart. We will provide for you.

If you want to learn more, you can search online later to this error: FAT_FILE_SYSTEM

He'll then return to the Logo of Toshiba screen, then the Blue error screen (NTFS_FILE_SYSTEM), then return to the Logo of Toshiba screen and then the Blue error screen (FAT_FILE_SYSTEM). It just keeps it again and again and does nothing else. I removed the battery, removed all caps, deleted all devices USB (mouse) and pressed the power button for 60 seconds. Then I put the battery in place, pluged in the power cord and it turned on. I got the same results, as shown above. NO CHANGE! HELP PLEASE!

Well Vista and before "XP", usually, do not use the FAT32 file system, they use, as do the new OS NTFS.

Vista/XP can read FAT32, & can / could use, but its outdated... Memory is not really in this case, but

you too extended the hardware capabilities of the pc.

From this point, try to start the BIOS, the value 'advanced settings' once this done, change BIOS for any add-on

    material, save & exit.

  • Last night, my laptop that runs windows xp blue screened and says something about the queue

original title: help solve a mistake, please on windows xp

Last night my laptop that runs windows xp blue screened and says something about the queue and to bring the computer out of which I did. I just tried to turn it on an hour ago, I use it now, and I got a message saying he had recovered from a serious error and I wanted to report to microsoft? I clicked Yes, but unbeknownst to me, I had no internet connection at the point of having to re-enter my our Verizon router WEP number in this laptop. I essentially self-taught myself much on computers that tell you, I'm not really computer literate, but if you can point me in the right direction, I can very well do. This is where to ask my question/problem. I went in the event viewer and found this error/explanation: Index information is corrupt and Indexing Service cannot re - index the content automatically. User action: stop and restart the indexing service using the following command:

    SC stop cisvc

    SC start cisvc

Can someone tell me please how to do this?  I think I know, but I'm really not sure so please help... Thank you

It really seems to me as if you had a temporary problem which has now disappeared and that you probably do not need to do anything.

However, please click Start, and then click Printers and faxes and report what, if anything, you see in the window that opens.

If you don't see an icon for the printer that you think should be there, you need to fix this.  On the other hand, if your printer icon is there - or if you do not have a printer attached to your computer - you need not do anything.

If you want your computer to be a little faster and at the same time save space on your hard drive, read the LifeHacker article I linked in my previous post.  However, you need not to do, and you can erase [probably] regardless of the index corruption has occurred by starting and stopping the Indexing Service (cisvc) by entering commands in a command prompt window that I described.

Yet once, you don't need to change your encryption WEP to WPA or WPA2 wifi, but doing so will make your network more secure wireless.  If you want to change your encryption, you would start by changing the configuration of your router from Verizon.  You should be able to find detailed instructions on the Verizon support site.  I don't know if you have Verizon FiOS or Verizon DSL service; This is a page of relevant support FiOS--> http://www22.verizon.com/ResidentialHelp/FiOSInternet/Networking/Setup/Security/124980.htm

  • YouTube crashes my computer. Blue screen event.

OK, so I have a Toshiba laptop running Windows Vista. The browser I use is Mozilla Firefox (just recently downloaded a new beta version of it too and tried, doesn't help). Every time when I am on youtube, my computer stops and gives me a blue screen (it takes sometimes an hour, two hours, three hours, or more, he also made right after the computer starts, and I tried with open, only youtube is not that I'm running too much, I don't think). Then it restarts itself until I have a chance to read anything on the blue screen and tells me that windows is recovering from an unexpected shutdown. It gives me nothing when I'm looking for a solution, but it's the details it gives me:

I looked in the youtube support forum. Called me the Microsoft support forum to get a solution.
Then I thought I should check the manufacturer's Web site. At first, I was sure that it was something wrong with my DVD player, but I fixed and it is always the case. A little more than a week, I did a restore of the system at the factory, so I am not convinced that that is going to work, however I didn't start having this problem until AFTER I did the restore... then maybe it was? I do not know.

Someone suggested that I acquired a virus. I have anti-virus software.
And may not have something to do with my computer overheating because I use a cooling block. Any help would be much appreciated!

Oh! And it occurs both in Internet Explorer. And I always check the updates of Windows on my computer. I download when I have them, but right now I have not any significant.

I was finally able to get the blue screen to stay long enough for me to read. It said it would close down because it has detected a problem and is trying to prevent any damage to my computer. He said that if I had never seen the message before, just restart, but if I had seen him before following a bunch of steps I don't understand completely...

To check if a disk space sufficient (-adequate for what?)

If a driver is identified in the stop message (which I do not know if it is) I need to disable the driver (which I do not know how) or consult the manufacturer for the update of the driver (I guess that means on the Web from Toshiba site?)

Change video cards (once more... no idea?)

He also tells me to check the hardware provider for the BIOS update (don't know what it is or how to make)
Disable the BIOS such as caching memory options or shading (still don't know)

Then he told me how to go in safe mode, if I need to do it this way.

    Then he says this:

    STOP: 0X0000008E (0 X 0000005, 0X8D8497C0, 0XA6EFB6B8, 0X00000000)
    igdKmd32.sys - address 8D8497C0 base at 8 803000, DateStamp 4851d0b0

And then said a bunch of stuff about dumping something memory to disk or whatever.
If ya... If anyone knows what this means and can help me... PLEASE DO!

PS. A BETA version of Mozilla Firefox is my browser by default at the moment because in the past, I met problems with Internet Explorer

    Hello

To be honest, I've never had any problems, I Watch youtube videos.
You must have the flash player plugin and I noticed that this new version of flash player has been released. So check that
    The flash player update

To BSOD issue, it can happen due to a hardware or software problem, but in your case I think it's software to associate s.
If the flash update does not help, recover the device again and experiment with new new preinstalled OS.

  • My system crashed and now I just get the blue screen that says to reinstall windows, when I try to use my recovery disks that it won't work.

Is there anywhere to get a new copy of the system recovery disc for my windows vista computer.  I have a HP Pavillion and I get not anywhere when trying to start repair, it tries to fix my computer and takes forever... and then I get the blue screen saying I need to reload windows.  The recovery discs that I burned when I bought the computer do not work.  What are my options?

    How to reinstall Vista

Contact the manufacturer of the laptop computer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it

they do it for a nominal cost of $

also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought

you would normally press F8, F9, F10 or F11 or Alt + F10 or 0 to start to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer

Ask them of the exact key sequence

With HP normally press you F11 at startup to start the process of recovery from the recovery partition

or borrow a vista microsoft dvd; not a HP, Acer recovery disk etc

Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

they contain all versions of vista

This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed

After saving my laptop husbands with my new 2 TB external hard drive, I tried saving my laptop.

I had to turn my computer off and then on again. I see the backup was not complete.

    Thank you

Hey, I'm sorry for the delay. Make sure you have backups of the data before making experiences.
It depends really what features chose you for backup. Usually software backup verify the current files and update, but they also can completely replace the existing or create a new backup.
The antivirus program should not be a problem during a backup operation.

  • Computer gets blue screen every day "wl merger.exe.

Good day, IM having some problems with my toshiba satellite (15'6 A665-s5181 notebook pc intel core i5 - 480 m), the computer works pretty well, its when I stop working, blue screen appears and the computer stops its happens at least once a day, the computer does no harm at all to restart... when I check the CENTER of the ACTION to see what caused the screen blue its says failed to apply : WL merger.exe a work stoppage.   Located in the file updatus NVIDIA.

    Help

I suspect that the "Trojans" might partially explain the weird behavior. They can basically upload other stuff to your PC once they have smuggled themselves on it.

You download SP1 via Windows update? Have you tried to install it manually? See - http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/install-windows-7-service-pack-1 and the link "Download and installation of SP1 from the Microsoft Download Center" on this page. Who installs it OK?

I hope that the NVIDIA driver update will fix the problem that you were re

    ' merger.exe wl'

The result of the SFC is good news.

If you do not get an installation disc, its always a good idea to do a repair disc. Just in case where, it can be useful sometimes.

Update and run Malwarebytes again, to make sure that nothing has reappeared.

AND make sure your AV package (depending on what you are using) is up-to-date and run a scan with that.

Back up your data before any significant change just as a precaution to prevent you from losing everything you need, if things go wrong, as an accident during the SP1 update.

EDIT - 1. to cause such things - " Trojan.BHO, Trojan.agent, banker spyware," is perhaps a good idea to change a web site password you use esp for sites banking etc. It is difficult to say what these might be, but some of these types of attacks are designed to steal information and passwords and other.

    2. make sure that your firewall works. Go to this site, click https://www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2 go ahead and run the tests - at least the good test ports. If your FW working ports must display them under (not open or closed) and you should see a nice green SUCCESS.
