I've had this computer for about a year now and it's just recently decided to die 3 days prior to the end of my warranty. Stroke of luck, I thought get fixed and ready to go. I used it for playing games its been quite a nice game until recently machine. I sent 2 times frist time they replace my motherboard pick it up and he didn't stay for more the same 15 last when I ran the game. Returned and all recently got back with more questions I know maybe just to send it back and have it repaired the right but I was wondering if there was a way I can fix it with little or no cost.

Here's what's happening I have raise any game that I have played before top war hammer 40 k 2 series for about 5 minutes then turns off. Sins of a solar empire, a game where game Id nonstop until I pass out have games last 14-15 hours well lets just say that I can't even set up a game more. So I try older games yes I can play em for a while then crash. I think it is a heating problem that initially before he died he destroyed when map chart or something else. It surfing the web even now just seems to run hot then normal.

Should I call and have em it back? I feel bad cause I like Toshiba and I just don't want that they think I'm trying to get a free patch or a new computer or what must be done to repair my laptop. I really like this laptop and products Toshiba Id want just this fix so I can be a killer of happy zombie in left 4 dead again.

    Hello!

That s not all goes well publish your story on your laptop, but I think the same as you. I think the laptop is overheating. You can try to clean it with a jet of compressed air. This could blow out the dust from the cooling fans.

If it doesn't work you have to bring this back to the authorized service provider. You told them that the laptop freezes in games? Maybe they don t have tested this so I have contacted the provider of service again.
It could be that the thermal grease needs to be renewed, or else. The laptop technicians can verify this.

Good luck and keep us in the loop.
I'm sure that ASP will fix your problem as soon as possible. My experience with ASP s is very good and time to repair doesn t take a long time.

  • Why my internet accounts automatically get disconnected after that my computer turns off by itself?

I have a Compaq PC with processor Dual-Core AMD Athlon X 2 5000, and it runs Windows Vista Edition Home Premium... In my view, that is running Service Pack 2. I use the computer to check my e-mail, my YouTube and Facebook accounts (and possibly other accounts spread I connect to).

I usually use Internet Explore to browse the web. Sometimes my computer turns off by itself due to overheating. But whenever when this happens, when I turn my computer back on and return to the use of the Internet, I've totally frustrated to find that all my accounts were automatically disconnected!

Even when I check these boxes to keep me connected to these accounts when I turn on the computer again after a successful stop, my accounts still get disconnected!

It only seems to happen when my computer turns off by itself without stopping... mainly due to overheating. When I turn on the computer again after a successful regular stop, my accounts are automatically saved on once again, due to activate me "Keep me connected" by checking these little boxes. But after a situation when the computer is off all the time (either by himself for a reason, either by me with strength to turn it off when my computer crashes), my accounts do not remain.

How can I prevent my accounts automatically be disconnected so that whenever I start the computer, after it turns off by itself, my internet accounts turned on? There must be a patch for this embarrassing situation here on the internet.

Perhaps because an improper shutdown / forced can inpact on different parameters.

Your must not PC in all cases be having heat problems, you need to fix this (heat) before it turns into something terminal

  • Pavilion dv6 Wireless turn off by itself

Pavilion dv6 1140ew with Windows 7. Each drivers are up-to-date. The system has been reinstalled recently so no virus is present.

And that is the problem. The computer turns off randomly wireless features. The blue light on the Power button tab will become Orange, as it has been disabled manually. I can't turn it on again for a while. Sometiems, it requires a reboot to re - activate. I found no specific reason why it happens. There is no model when it occurs. Sometimes during a movie, when the internet is not used at all. Sometimes during a game, online when it is certeinly. It takes 10 minutes to 2 hours to reactivate itself.

Would appreciate any help, as it is very frustrating.

    Hello Schanez,

Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the Forums of HP, I would like to draw your attention to the Guide of the Forums HP first time here? Learn how to publish and more.

I understand that your wireless network is disabled and you want to prevent from happening. I'm you provide a document from HP support:laptops HP - Setup to solve Internet connection problems on a wireless network with Windows 7 and, which contains steps to help you solve this problem. I would focus on turn it off device power management section of the options I have installed wireless on below:

Most wireless devices can be configured to turn off the power to reduce the drain on battery power. This is usually not a problem when the laptop is connected to an AC adapter. However, during battery operation, the adapter can be turned off to save energy. To disable this power setting, follow these steps.

    1. Click on start and enter the device in the search box, and then select Device Manager from the list.
    2. Double-click network adapters to lengthen the list, do a right click on the adapter for wireless (WiFi) in the list and select Properties.
    3. In the map properties window, click the power management tab, and then deselect allow the computer to turn off this device to save power option.

Close Device Manager, restart the laptop and trying to reconnect to the wireless network.

Please re-post if you need extra support. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • Cannot use Wake on LAN, unless that "allow this computer to turn off the device to save power" is checked

Wake on LAN - power management

On my Media Center PC, I am unable to use Wake on LAN unless "allow this computer to turn off the device to save power" is checked (in the tab power management of the adapter in the Device Manager). "Allow this device to wake the computer" and 'Allow only a magic packet wake the computer' is checked, but become grayed out when "allow this computer to turn off the device...". ' is not checked.

The problem is, Wake On Lan doesn't work unless the computer has been asleep for a short period of time. If I try to activate the computer using WOL after about 10 minutes, he never wake. I guess that's because "Allow this computer to turn off the device to save power" is checked, the machine is before turning off the network adapter.

Is it possible to force the computer to disable the NETWORK card, but would retain the capability of WOL? Or ensure you THAT WOL works little regardless of how long the PC has been asleep?

The machine is a Windows 7 PC with a Nvidia nforce network controller.

By the way, I have a laptop on the same cable network that has all three items checked in the tab for its NIC device power management, and this machine can be awake at all times using WOL, regardless of how long he has been asleep, this issue must therefore be with the configuration of the Media Center computer.

I would be really grateful for any suggestion, I spent a lot of time trying to get this to work!

    See you soon

    Hello

If the systems are only a sleep you don't need a magic packet.

If computers are set to wake on any network traffic all Ping or arp will wake them up.

For this configuration, it is best to disable the saving of NIC.

  • Backup cancelled in Windows 7 when the computer is turned off.

I use Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit operating system.

Periodically, the Action Center will display a message saying that I have to do a backup, what I do before turning off the computer. However, when I reboot the computer, I discovered that the backup has been cancelled.

I have searched the web but can't find information about how to make the computer shuts down automatically once the backup completed successfully.  Does anyone have a solution?

The backup has been working in the past?

Have you ever attempted an upgrade to Windows 10 and then back to Windows 7?

For example let's say you have your backup scheduled task to run at midnight...

If your computer is stopped at midnight, the backup does not - because the computer is stopped and the task was "missed" because the computer has been shut down.

If you have the backup task configured on "Run as soon as possible after a regular departure was missed":

When your computer working again missed backup task starts automatically.

If you have your scheduled backup job to run at midnight and your computer is in "Sleep" mode, you have the task configured to wake the computer to run the backup:

This won't work for wake up the computer if it is in "Sleep" mode  It will not work if the computer is in hibernation or if the computer is shut down.  As you can be awakened from sleep, the computer can be awakened from sleep, but you can't be awake if you're dead (stop).  You have to sleep to being awake.  You can be awake if you're dead or hibernation.

The 'problem' with this approach is if the computer wakes up and runs the backup it will continue to function and you don't want that.   You can the computer to wake up, run the backup, and then click Stop (or to go back to sleep) when the backup is complete, and you can configure to occur in two different ways.  If that's how you think you want things to work ask the question in the right way, and describe how you want things to work.

If your computer is in hibernation or stop the scheduled backup will not work until the computer working again and realizes that he has missed a task... then the backup will run - if you have the task set to do as the first example.

Depending on certain factors that have nothing to do with Windows there are ways to make your computer start at a certain time of the hibernation or shutdown (mean 23:55) so it will be quick and then the backup will take place at midnight but will continue to operate your computer unless you include an additional step to stop the system again when the backup is complete.  These things are not exactly automatically built into Windows, but there might be ways to do things the way it works.  If that's how you think you want things to work ask the question in the right way, and describe how you want things to work.

Find how to solve is often a matter of the question or stating the problem clearly there is no guess, no things difficult and none of these proceedings of the wild goose.

What is the problem with the way your backup works now?

What part doesn't work the way you think it should work?

How do you think this should work?

    How it works?

If your computer is turned off (off) do you want that it to wake up itself, run the backup and then stop when the backup he fill?  You can do it if you want, but it takes an extra effort and has a few requirements outside the Windows operating system.

The task of the example above is set to run every Monday at 09:00.

If my computer is running at 09:00 on Monday, the backup will start and run Monday at 09:00.

If my computer doesn't work at 09:00 on Monday, the backup will run as soon as possible after the computer restart us and that's fine with me.

I do not use sleep or Hibernate so I don't have to worry about how get the copy backup to run under these conditions.

  • C50-A-1HF satellite will turn off by itself after 2 seconds

    Hello

the laptop turns off by itself after 2 seconds when I turn it on. This happens if I shutted down or choosed hibernate before (Win8.1).

This means hibernation is not at all useable.

The next time I turn it on it works quite normal! Sleep mode works as well. Standby mode it is ready for use after open them both as a repetitive. Fascinating!

I looked on all the settings of the BIOS, but I found nothing what could be the reason for this behavior.

Perhaps there is a correlation with another strange behavior. The battery will not be charged over 80%. I do not use the green mode. I have to turn off the laptop and remove the battery completely for a minute. After inserting and booting Win8.1 what it charges again at 100%.

The discharge time is approximately 3.5 hours. Otherwise, the battery is ok.

But after the next discharge up to 10% charge that up to 80% more.

These two effects are not normal. But I don't think (or better, I hope) that there is a material defect.

Is there a chance does not post the laptop to a repair service?

    Best regards

    Onurbi

Hey man it are so strange problems and it's not easy to say what to do. All you can do is to install the original recovery image and test with the settings once more, of course without changing anything or install updates or additional applications.

If possible to do this and test it for a while.
    > Is there a chance does not post the laptop to a repair service?
As you probably know your possibilities to do something about this are very limited and if there is permanent problem I think you should contact the closest service Toshiba and clarify all of this.
You have the new laptop model and it should work properly. If you are not happy and there are service problems Toshiba should take are about it and help you.

  • Tecra A5 - charges the battery only when the computer is turned off

    Hello

For a few days, my Tecra A5 has started to beep and stop it (like when the battery is low) then that it was connected to the power supply adapter.

I finally realized that when the computer is plugged in, the battery discharge and does not use the power supply to recharge.

On the other hand, if I turn off the computer, the battery starts to charge.
I replaced the battery a few months ago, so I think it's still OK.

The charger would be defective? Seems strange since it can always recharge the battery when the computer is turned off.

Thanks in advance for your contributions.

    > The charger is defective?

Theoretically; Yes, but could also be electronic supply on the motherboard is affected, but on the first stage of the AC adapter should be verified and laptop needs to be tested with AC adapter new, good work.
